Isaiah 43

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 And now, thus says Yahweh, he who created you, Jacob, who formed you, Israel: Do not be afraid, for Ihave redeemed you; I have cal ed you by your name, you are mine.	1 Ed ecco ora quello che dice il Signore, colui che ti ha creato, o Giacobbe, colui che ti ha formato, o Israele: « Non temere, perchè io t'ho redento, e t'ho chiamato a nome: tu sei mio.
2 Should you pass through the waters, I shall be with you; or through rivers, they will not swal ow you up.Should you walk through fire, you wil not suffer, and the flame wil not burn you.	2 Se passerai per le acque, io sarò teco, e i fiumi non ti sommergeranno; se camminerai nel fuoco, non sarai bruciato, e la fiamma non scotterà per te.
3 For I am Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I have given Egypt for your ransom,Cush and Seba in exchange for you.	3 Perchè io sono il Signore Dio tuo, il Santo d'Israele, tuo salvatore: per tuo riscatto ho dato l'Egitto, in cambio di te l'Etiopia e Saba.
4 Since I regard you as precious, since you are honoured and I love you, I therefore give people inexchange for you, and nations in return for your life.	4 Dopo che tu sei divenuto degno d'onore ai miei occhi e glorioso, io ti ho amato, e darò degli uomini per te, e dei popoli per la tua vita.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I shal bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from thewest.	5 Non temere, perchè io sono teco: condurrò i tuoi figli dall'oriente, li radunerò dall'occidente;
6 To the north I shal say, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back!' Bring back my sonsfrom far away, and my daughters from the remotest part of the earth,	6 dirò al settentrione: « Dammeli », e al mezzogiorno: « Non li ritenere; riporta i miei figli da lontano, e le mie figlie dai confini del mondo,
7 everyone who bears my name, whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, whom I havemade.	7 perchè tutti quelli che invocano il mio nome li ho creati per la mia gloria, li ho formati, li ho fatti.
8 Bring forward the people that is blind, yet has eyes, that is deaf and yet has ears.	8 Fai uscire il popolo che è cieco ed ha gli occhi, è sordo ed ha gli orecchi ».
9 Let al the nations assemble, let the peoples gather here! Which of them has proclaimed this andrevealed things to us in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, let others hear and say, 'Itis true.'	9 Tutte le nazioni si sono radunate insieme, le tribù son riunite. Chi di voi ci annunzierà questo e ci farà sentire prima le cose? Presentino i loro testimoni, si giustifichino, e stiano a sentire, e dicano: « E' vero! »
10 You yourselves are my witnesses, declares Yahweh, and the servant whom I have chosen, so thatyou may know and believe me and understand that it is I. No god was formed before me, nor wil be after me.	10 « Voi siete i miei testimoni — dice il Signore — e il mio servo da me eletto, affinchè conosciate e mi crediate, e comprendiate che son proprio io. Avanti di me non fu formato alcun Dio e non ce ne sarà dopo di me.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Saviour but me.	11 Son io, son io il Signore, e fuori di me non v'è salvatore.
12 I have revealed, have saved, and have proclaimed, not some foreigner among you. You are mywitnesses, declares Yahweh, I am God,	12 Io ho predetto, io ho salvato, ho fatto sapere, e non fu tra voi (dio) straniero. Voi siete i miei testimoni — dice il Signore — che io sono Dio,
13 yes, from eternity I am. No one can deliver from my hand; when I act, who can thwart me?	13 son proprio io fino dall'eternità, e non v'è chi possa liberare dalla mia mano. To farò, e chi potrà disfare? »
14 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, Ishall knock down al the prison bars, and the Chaldaeans' shouts of joy wil change to lamentations.	14 Cosi parla il Signore vostro redentore, il Santo d'Israele: « A causa di voi ho mandato contro Babilonia, ed ho tolte tutte le sbarre, e i Caldei che si gloriavano dei loro vascelli.
15 I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your king.	15 Io sono il Signore, il vostro Santo, il creatore d'Israele, il vostro re ».
16 Thus says Yahweh, who made a way through the sea, a path in the raging waters,	16 Ecco quanto dice il Signore, colui che aperse una via nel mare, un sentiero nelle acque impetuose,
17 who led out chariot and horse together with an army of picked troops: they lay down never to riseagain, they were snuffed out, put out like a wick.	17 colui che fece uscire i cocchi e i cavalli, le schiere e i valorosi: tutti insieme si sono addormentati per non rialzarsi, strizzati, come lucignolo si sono spenti.
18 No need to remember past events, no need to think about what was done before.	18 « Dimenticate le cose passate, non guardate alle antiche:
19 Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it? Yes, I am making a road in thedesert and rivers in wastelands.	19 ecco io ne fo delle nuove, ed ora verran fuori, e certamente le conoscerete: aprirò una via nel deserto e fiumi nella solitudine.
20 The wild animals wil honour me, the jackals and the ostriches, for bestowing water in the desert andrivers on the wastelands for my people, my chosen one, to drink.	20 Mi glorificheranno le bestie selvatiche, i dragoni e gli struzzi; perchè ho dato acque al deserto e fiumi alla solitudine, per dar da bere al mio popolo, al mio eletto.
21 The people I have shaped for myself wil broadcast my praises.	21 Questo popolo l'ho fatto per me, ed annunzierà le mie lodi.
22 But, Jacob, you have not invoked me; no, Israel, you have grown weary of me.	22 Tu non m'hai invocato, o Giacobbe, non ti sei affannato per me, o Israele,
23 You have not brought me lambs as your burnt offerings and have not honoured me with yoursacrifices. I have not subjected you to cereal offering, I have not wearied you by demanding incense.	23 non mi hai offerto l'ariete del tuo olocausto, non mi hai onorato colle tue vittime; non ti ho fatto servire colle offerte, non ti ho addossato fatiche per l'incenso,
24 You have not bought expensive reed for me or sated me with the fat of your sacrifices. Instead byyour sins you have trected me like a slave, you have wearied me with your crimes,	24 non hai per me comprato coll'argento la. canna (odorosa), non mi hai rallegrato col grasso delle tue vittime. Invece tu m'hai fatto servire nei tuoi peccati, mi hai dato pena colle tue iniquità.
25 I, I it is who blot out your acts of revolt for my own sake and shal not cal your sins to mind.	25 Son io, son io che per me stesso cancello le tue iniquità, e non ricorderò più i tuoi peccati.
26 Remind me, and we will judge this together; state your own case and justify yourself.	26 Fammi ritornare alla memoria, andiamo insieme a giudizio, di' puro, se hai qualche cosa per giustificarti.
27 Your first ancestor sinned, your interpreters revolted against me.	27 Il primo tuo padre peccò e i tuoi interpreti prevaricarono contro di me.
28 That is why I deposed the chief men of my sanctuary, why I put Jacob under the curse of destructionand subjected Israel to insult.	28 Ed io dichiarai immondi i principi santi. Abbandonai Giacobbe allo sterminio e Israele agli oltraggi.
