Isaiah 43

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 And now, thus says Yahweh, he who created you, Jacob, who formed you, Israel: Do not be afraid, for Ihave redeemed you; I have cal ed you by your name, you are mine.	1 Y ahora, así habla el Señor, el que te creó, Jacob, el que te formó, Israel: No temas, porque yo te he redimido, te he llamado por tu nombre, tú me perteneces.
2 Should you pass through the waters, I shall be with you; or through rivers, they will not swal ow you up.Should you walk through fire, you wil not suffer, and the flame wil not burn you.	2 Si cruzas por las aguas, yo estaré contigo, y los ríos no te anegarán; si caminas por el fuego, no te quemarás, y las llamas no te abrasarán.
3 For I am Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I have given Egypt for your ransom,Cush and Seba in exchange for you.	3 Porque yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, el Santo de Israel, tu salvador. Yo entregué a Egipto parta tu rescate, a Cus y a Sebá a cambio de ti.
4 Since I regard you as precious, since you are honoured and I love you, I therefore give people inexchange for you, and nations in return for your life.	4 Porque tú eres de gran precio a mis ojos, porque eres valioso, y yo te amo, entrego hombres a cambio de ti y pueblos a cambio de tu vida
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I shal bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from thewest.	5 No temas, porque yo estoy contigo: traeré a tu descendencia desde Oriente y te reuniré desde Occidente.
6 To the north I shal say, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back!' Bring back my sonsfrom far away, and my daughters from the remotest part of the earth,	6 Yo diré al Norte: «¡Dámelo!», y al Sur: «¡No lo retengas, trae a mis hijos desde lejos y a mis hijas desde el extremo de la tierra:
7 everyone who bears my name, whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, whom I havemade.	7 a todos los que son llamados con mi Nombre, a los que he creado para mi gloria, a los que yo mismo hice y formé!».
8 Bring forward the people that is blind, yet has eyes, that is deaf and yet has ears.	8 ¡Hagan salir al pueblo ciego, pero que tiene ojos, sordo, pero que tiene oídos!
9 Let al the nations assemble, let the peoples gather here! Which of them has proclaimed this andrevealed things to us in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, let others hear and say, 'Itis true.'	9 ¡Que se reúnan todas las naciones y se congreguen los pueblos! ¿Quién de entre ellos había anunciado estas cosas? ¿Quién nos predijo lo que sucedió en el pasado? Que aduzcan testigos para justificarse, para que se los oiga, y se pueda decir: «Es verdad».
10 You yourselves are my witnesses, declares Yahweh, and the servant whom I have chosen, so thatyou may know and believe me and understand that it is I. No god was formed before me, nor wil be after me.	10 Ustedes son mis testigos y mis servidores –oráculo del Señor–: a ustedes los elegí para que entiendan y crean en mí, y para que comprendan que Yo Soy. Antes de mí no fue formado ningún dios ni habrá otro después de mí.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Saviour but me.	11 Yo, yo solo soy el Señor, y no hay salvador fuera de mí.
12 I have revealed, have saved, and have proclaimed, not some foreigner among you. You are mywitnesses, declares Yahweh, I am God,	12 Yo anuncié, yo salvé, yo predije, y no un dios extraño entre ustedes. Ustedes son mis testigos –oráculo del Señor– y yo soy Dios.
13 yes, from eternity I am. No one can deliver from my hand; when I act, who can thwart me?	13 Yo soy el mismo desde siempre, y no hay nadie que libre de mi mano: lo que yo hago ¿quién lo revocará?
14 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, Ishall knock down al the prison bars, and the Chaldaeans' shouts of joy wil change to lamentations.	14 Así habla el Señor, el redentor de ustedes, el Santo de Israel: A causa de ustedes, yo envié gente a Babilonia, para hacer saltar todos los cerrojos, y el júbilo de los caldeos se convertirá en lamentos.
15 I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your king.	15 Yo soy el Señor, el Santo, el Creador de Israel, su Rey.
16 Thus says Yahweh, who made a way through the sea, a path in the raging waters,	16 Así habla el Señor, el que abrió un camino a través del mar y un sendero entre las aguas impetuosas;
17 who led out chariot and horse together with an army of picked troops: they lay down never to riseagain, they were snuffed out, put out like a wick.	17 el que hizo salir carros de guerra y caballos, todo un ejército de hombres aguerridos; ellos quedaron tendidos, no se levantarán, se extinguieron, se consumieron como una mecha.
18 No need to remember past events, no need to think about what was done before.	18 No se acuerden de las cosas pasadas, no piensen en las cosas antiguas;
19 Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it? Yes, I am making a road in thedesert and rivers in wastelands.	19 yo estoy por hacer algo nuevo: ya está germinando, ¿no se dan cuenta? Sí, pondré un camino en el desierto y ríos en la estepa.
20 The wild animals wil honour me, the jackals and the ostriches, for bestowing water in the desert andrivers on the wastelands for my people, my chosen one, to drink.	20 Me glorificarán las fieras salvajes, los chacales y los avestruces; porque haré brotar agua en el desierto y ríos en la estepa, para dar de beber a mi Pueblo, mi elegido,
21 The people I have shaped for myself wil broadcast my praises.	21 el Pueblo que yo me formé para que pregonara mi alabanza.
22 But, Jacob, you have not invoked me; no, Israel, you have grown weary of me.	22 Pero tú no me has invocado, Jacob, porque te cansaste de mí, Israel.
23 You have not brought me lambs as your burnt offerings and have not honoured me with yoursacrifices. I have not subjected you to cereal offering, I have not wearied you by demanding incense.	23 No me trajiste el cordero de tus holocaustos ni me honraste con tus sacrificios; yo no te abrumé exigiéndote ofrendas ni te cansé reclamándote incienso.
24 You have not bought expensive reed for me or sated me with the fat of your sacrifices. Instead byyour sins you have trected me like a slave, you have wearied me with your crimes,	24 Tú no compraste para mí caña aromática ni me saciaste con la grasa de tus víctimas. ¡Me has abrumado, en cambio, con tus pecados, me has cansado con tus iniquidades!
25 I, I it is who blot out your acts of revolt for my own sake and shal not cal your sins to mind.	25 Pero soy yo, sólo yo, el que borro tus crímenes por consideración a mí, y ya no me acordaré de tus pecados.
26 Remind me, and we will judge this together; state your own case and justify yourself.	26 Interpélame, y vayamos juntos a juicio: alega tú mismo para justificarte.
27 Your first ancestor sinned, your interpreters revolted against me.	27 Ya tu primer padre pecó y tus portavoces se rebelaron contra mí.
28 That is why I deposed the chief men of my sanctuary, why I put Jacob under the curse of destructionand subjected Israel to insult.	28 Por eso execré a los príncipes consagrados, entregué a Jacob al exterminio total y a Israel, a los ultrajes.
