Isaiah 43

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 And now, thus says Yahweh, he who created you, Jacob, who formed you, Israel: Do not be afraid, for Ihave redeemed you; I have cal ed you by your name, you are mine.	1 - Ed ora, così dice il Signore tuo creatore, o Giacobbe, e il tuo modellatore, o Israele: «Non temere, perchè io ti ho redento! Ti ho chiamato col tuo nome; tu sei mio.
2 Should you pass through the waters, I shall be with you; or through rivers, they will not swal ow you up.Should you walk through fire, you wil not suffer, and the flame wil not burn you.	2 Quando passerai in mezzo alle acque sarò teco, e i fiumi non ti sommergeranno; quando passerai per mezzo al fuoco, non ti abbrucerai, e l'ardore della fiamma non ti assalirà.
3 For I am Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I have given Egypt for your ransom,Cush and Seba in exchange for you.	3 Perchè io sono il Signore Dio tuo, il Santo d'Israele tuo Salvatore; ho dato in prezzo del tuo riscatto l'Egitto, l'Etiopia e Saba in cambio di te.
4 Since I regard you as precious, since you are honoured and I love you, I therefore give people inexchange for you, and nations in return for your life.	4 Da tanto che sei prezioso agli occhi miei, e stimato, io ti ho posto amore, e darò altri uomini per te e altre nazioni per l'anima tua.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I shal bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from thewest.	5 Non temere, perchè io sono teco: dall'oriente farò venire la tua progenie e dall'occidente vi raccoglierò.
6 To the north I shal say, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back!' Bring back my sonsfrom far away, and my daughters from the remotest part of the earth,	6 Dirò al settentrione: - Dammeli -; e al mezzogiorno: - Non ritenerli. - Conducimi i miei figli da lontano, e le mie figlie dall'estremità della terra,
7 everyone who bears my name, whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, whom I havemade.	7 e tutti quelli che invocano il mio nome, che per la mia gloria ho creati, plasmati e formati!
8 Bring forward the people that is blind, yet has eyes, that is deaf and yet has ears.	8 Su via, fa' uscire fuori quel popolo che è cieco e ha gli occhi, che è sordo e ha gli orecchi!». Israele già testimonio della liberazione dall'Egitto, ne vedrà una nuova.
9 Let al the nations assemble, let the peoples gather here! Which of them has proclaimed this andrevealed things to us in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, let others hear and say, 'Itis true.'	9 Tutte le genti sono radunate insieme, sono raccolte le tribù: «Chi tra voi annuncerà questo, e predirà le cose molto tempo prima? Producano esse prove che giustifichino il loro potere: altri odano, e dicano: - Sì, è vero! -
10 You yourselves are my witnesses, declares Yahweh, and the servant whom I have chosen, so thatyou may know and believe me and understand that it is I. No god was formed before me, nor wil be after me.	10 Voi siete miei testimoni, dice il Signore, e il mio servo che ho eletto, affinchè sappiate e crediate a me e comprendiate che quello sono io. Prima di me non fu formato alcun dio, e dopo di me non vi sarà.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Saviour but me.	11 Sono io, sono io il Signore e non vi è Salvatore fuori di me.
12 I have revealed, have saved, and have proclaimed, not some foreigner among you. You are mywitnesses, declares Yahweh, I am God,	12 Io ho predetto, io ho salvato, io mi son fatto sentire, e non può essere estraneo alcuno di voi; voi mi siete testimoni, dice il Signore, che io sono Iddio.
13 yes, from eternity I am. No one can deliver from my hand; when I act, who can thwart me?	13 E io sono sempre stato, e non vi è nulla che si sottragga alla mia mano, e quello che io faccio, chi lo potrà disfare?».
14 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, Ishall knock down al the prison bars, and the Chaldaeans' shouts of joy wil change to lamentations.	14 Così dice il Signore, il vostro Redentore, il Santo d'Israele: «Per amore di voi ho mandato contro Babilonia, e ne ho divelte tutte le sbarre e sbaragliati i Caldei orgogliosi delle loro navi.
15 I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your king.	15 Io sono il Signore, il vostro Santo, il creatore d'Israele, il vostro re».
16 Thus says Yahweh, who made a way through the sea, a path in the raging waters,	16 Così dice il Signore, che aperse una via nel mare, e un sentiero nelle acque precipitose,
17 who led out chariot and horse together with an army of picked troops: they lay down never to riseagain, they were snuffed out, put out like a wick.	17 che ha fatto uscire in campo carri e cavalli, schiere e valorosi, tutti insieme si addormentarono per mai più risvegliarsi, furono spenti come un lucignolo ed estinti.
18 No need to remember past events, no need to think about what was done before.	18 Non rammentate più quello che è passato, e non pensate più a quello che è stato!
19 Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it? Yes, I am making a road in thedesert and rivers in wastelands.	19 Ecco ch'io farò cose nuove; ora, ora spunteranno e voi di certo le saprete: riaprirò nel deserto la strada e le sorgenti di acqua nella solitudine.
20 The wild animals wil honour me, the jackals and the ostriches, for bestowing water in the desert andrivers on the wastelands for my people, my chosen one, to drink.	20 Mi daranno gloria le bestie della campagna, i dragoni e gli struzzi; perchè ho fatto scaturire acque nel deserto, sorgenti nella solitudine, per dar da bere al popolo mio, al mio eletto.
21 The people I have shaped for myself wil broadcast my praises.	21 Questo popolo me lo son formato per me, esso racconterà le mie lodi.
22 But, Jacob, you have not invoked me; no, Israel, you have grown weary of me.	22 E tu, o Giacobbe, me non hai invocato, tu non ti sei affaticato per me, o Israele.
23 You have not brought me lambs as your burnt offerings and have not honoured me with yoursacrifices. I have not subjected you to cereal offering, I have not wearied you by demanding incense.	23 Tu non hai recato a me il montone del tuo olocausto e non mi hai onorato colle tue vittime; non ti ho chiesto il servizio delle tue oblazioni, nè ti ho incomodato per l'incenso.
24 You have not bought expensive reed for me or sated me with the fat of your sacrifices. Instead byyour sins you have trected me like a slave, you have wearied me with your crimes,	24 Non hai speso denaro per comprarmi canna odorosa, e non mi hai inebriato col profumo del grasso delle tue vittime. Invece mi hai dato da fare coi tuoi peccati, mi hai affaticato colle tue iniquità.
25 I, I it is who blot out your acts of revolt for my own sake and shal not cal your sins to mind.	25 Sono io, sono io stesso per me medesimo che cancello le tue iniquità, e i tuoi peccati non voglio più rammentare.
26 Remind me, and we will judge this together; state your own case and justify yourself.	26 Risveglia i miei ricordi alla memoria: disputiamo insieme, racconta se hai qualche cosa per giustificarti.
27 Your first ancestor sinned, your interpreters revolted against me.	27 Il tuo primo padre peccò, e i tuoi interpreti prevaricarono contro di me;
28 That is why I deposed the chief men of my sanctuary, why I put Jacob under the curse of destructionand subjected Israel to insult.	28 per questo ha consegnato alla profanazione i tuoi principi santi, ed ho dato all'eccidio Giacobbe e Israele al vituperio.
