Isaiah 31

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Woe to those going down to Egypt for help, who put their trust in horses, who rely on the quantity ofchariots, and on great strength of cavalrymen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult Yahweh.	1 Teško onima što slaze u Egipat po pomoć i nadu u konje polažu te se uzdaju u mnoga kola i u mnoštvo konjanika, ne gledajuć’ s uzdanjem u Sveca Izraelova i od Jahve savjeta ne tražeć’.
2 Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster and he wil not go back on his word; he wil rise against thebreed of evil-doers and against those who protect wrong-doers.	2 Al’ i on je mudar i navalit će zlo, i neće poreć’ svojih prijetnja; on će ustat’ na dom zlikovački i na pomoć zločinačku.
3 The Egyptian is human, not divine, his horses are flesh, not spirit; Yahweh wil stretch out his hand: theprotector wil stumble, the protected wil fal and all wil perish together.	3 Egipćanin je čovjek, a ne Bog; konji su mu meso, a ne duh; kada Jahve rukom mahne, posrnut će pomagač i past će onaj komu pomaže – svi će zajedno propasti.
4 Yes, this is what Yahweh has said to me: As a lion or lion cub growls over its prey, when scores ofshepherds are summoned to drive it off, without being frightened by their shouting or cowed by the noise theymake, just so will Yahweh Sabaoth descend to fight for Mount Zion and for its hil .	4 Asirije Da, ovako mi reče Jahve: »Kao što lav ili lavić nad plijenom reži, pa i kad se strči na njega mnoštvo pastira, on se ne prepada vike njihove, nit’ za njihovu graju mari – tako će Jahve nad vojskama sići da vojuje za goru Sion, za visinu njezinu.
5 Like hovering birds, so wil Yahweh Sabaoth protect Jerusalem; by protecting it, he will save it, bysupporting it, he wil deliver it.	5 Kao ptice što lepršaju krilima, Jahve nad vojskama zaklanjat će Jeruzalem, zaklanjat’ ga, izbaviti, poštedjet’ ga i spasiti.
6 Come back to the one whom the Israelites have so deeply betrayed!	6 Vratite se onome od kog otpadoste tako duboko, sinovi Izraelovi.
7 For, that day, each of you wil throw away the false gods of silver and the false gods of gold which yourown sinful hands have made.	7 Da, u onaj će dan svatko prezreti svoje kumire srebrne i zlatne što ih rukama sebi za grijeh načiniste.
8 Assyria will fal by the sword, not that of a man, wil be devoured by the sword, of no human being, hewil flee before the sword and his young warriors will be enslaved.	8 Asur neće pasti od mača ljudskoga: proždrijet će ga mač, ali ne čovječji. Od mača će bježat’, al’ će mu satnici pod tlaku pasti.
9 In his terror he wil abandon his rock, and his panic-stricken officers desert the standard -- declaresYahweh, whose fire is in Zion, whose furnace, in Jerusalem.	9 Užasnut, ostavit će svoju hridinu, prestravljeni, knezovi od svoje će bježat’ zastave« – riječ je Jahve, čiji je oganj na Sionu i čija je peć u Jeruzalemu.
