Isaiah 28

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Woe to the haughty crown of Ephraim's drunkards, to the fading flower of its proud splendour sited atthe head of the lush val ey, to those prostrated by wine!	1 Guai alla corona di superbia, ai briaconi d'Efraim, al fiore appassito della splendida sua magnificenza, a quelli che stanno in cima alla fertilissima valle, barcollanti dal vino.
2 See, a strong and mighty man in the Lord's service, like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, likeimmense flood-waters overflowing, with his hand he throws them to the ground.	2 Ecco il Signore forte e potente come grandine impetuosa, come turbine devastatore, come impeto di acque immense che inondano e allagano grandi terre.
3 They wil be trampled underfoot, the haughty crown of Ephraim's drunkards,	3 Sarà calpestata dai piedi la superba corona dei briaconi d'Efraim,
4 and the faded flower of its proud splendour sited at the head of the lush val ey. Like a fig ripe beforesummer comes: whoever spots it forthwith picks and swal ows it.	4 e il fiore appassito della splendida sua magnificenza, che sta in cima alla fertilissima valle, sarà come frutto primaticcio maturato avanti l'autunno: chi lo vedrà subito lo coglierà e lo mangerà.
5 That day Yahweh Sabaoth wil be a crown of splendour and a proud diadem for the remnant of hispeople,	5 In quel giorno il Signore degli eserciti sarà corona di gloria e serto d'allegrezza pel resto del suo popolo,
6 a spirit of fair judgement for him who sits in judgement, and the strength of those who repel the assaulton the gate.	6 e spirito di giustizia per colui che siede a giudicare, e fortezza per coloro che tornan dalla guerra fino alla porta.
7 These too have been confused by wine, have gone astray owing to liquor. Priest and prophet havebecome confused by liquor, are sodden with wine, have strayed owing to liquor, have become confused in theirvisions, have strayed in their decisions.	7 Ma anche questi sono stupiditi dal vino, barcollan briachi. Il sacerdote e il profeta non capiscon più nulla dall'ubriachezza, affogati nel vino van qua e là briachi, non si raccapezzano nella visione, non san più giudicare.
8 Yes, every table is covered in filthy vomit, not one is clean!	8 Le loro tavole son piene di reciticci d'immondezze, e non vi resta luogo senza lordure.
9 'Whom does he think he is lecturing? Whom does he think his message is for? Babies just weaned?Babies just taken from the breast?	9 « A chi vuol insegnare la scienza? A chi dare l'intelligenza delle cose udite? A (bambini) appena divezzati dal latte, appena staccati dalle mammelle.
10 With his "Sav lasav, sav lasav, kav lakav, kav lakav, zeer sham, zeer sham!"	10 Infatti: ordina, riordina, ordina, riordina; aspetta, riaspetta, aspetta, riaspetta; ancora un poco, ancora un poco ».
11 Now, with stammering lips and in a foreign language, he wil talk to this nation.	11 Ebbene, con parole barbare, con lingua straniera parlerà (il Signore) a questo popolo,
12 He used to say to them, 'Here you can rest! Here you can let the weary rest! Here al is quiet.' But theyrefused to listen.	12 a cui ha detto: « Qui è il mio riposo, ristorate lo stanco, questo è il mio refrigerio »; ma essi non han voluto dare ascolto.
13 Now Yahweh is going to say this to them, 'Sav lasav, sav lasav, kav lakav, kav lakav, zeer sham, zeersham.' So that when they walk they wil fal over backwards and so be broken, trapped and taken captive.	13 E la parola del Signore per essi sarà questa: « Ordina, riordina, ordina, riordina; aspetta, aspetta, aspetta, riaspetta; ancora un poco, ancora un poco; così, vadano e cadano riversi e siano stritolati e cadano nel laccio e sian presi ».
14 Hence listen to Yahweh's word, you insolent men, rulers of this people in Jerusalem.	14 Per questo ascoltate la parola dei Signore, o schernitori, capi del mio popolo che è in Gerusalemme.
15 Because you have said, 'We have made a treaty with Death and have struck a pact with Sheol. Whenthe scourging flood comes over, it wil not touch us, for we have made lies our refuge and hidden underfalsehood.'	15 Voi avete detto: « Abbiamo fatta allenza colla morte abbiamo stretto un patto coll'inferno: quando pioveranno i flagelli non verranno sopra di noi, perchè abbiamo poste le nostre speranze nella menzogna, e dalla menzogna siamo protetti ».
16 So the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Now I shall lay a stone in Zion, a granite stone, a precious corner-stone, a firm foundation-stone: no one who relies on this will stumble.	16 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: « Ecco che io porrò a fondamento di Sion una pietra, una pietra eletta, angolare, preziosa, basata sui fondamenti: chi crede non abbia fretta.
17 And I wil make fair judgement the measure, and uprightness the plumb-line.' But hail wil sweep awaythe refuge of lies and floods wash away the hiding-place;	17 E farò giu­dizio a peso, e giustizia con mi­sura; e la grandine distruggerà la speranza della menzogna, e le acque travolgeranno i ripari,
18 your treaty with Death wil be broken and your pact with Sheol wil not hold. When the scourging floodcomes over, you wil be trodden down by it;	18 e sarà distrutta la vostra alleanza colla morte, e non esisterà più il vostro patto coll'inferno; quan­do passerà tempestoso il flagello, vi travolgerà seco.
19 every time it comes over, it wil seize on you, for it wil come over, morning after morning, day by dayand night by night. Nothing but fear will make you understand what you hear.	19 Ogni volta che passerà vi porterà via: chè dal primo albeggiare passerà giorno e notte, e soltanto gli strapazzi vi faran capire la lezione.
20 For the bed is too short to stretch in, the blanket too narrow for covering.	20 Infatti il letto è così stretto che un altro cade, e la coperta, così piccola non può coprire tutt'e due.
21 Yes, as on Mount Perazim, Yahweh will rise, as in the Val ey of Gibeon, he wil storm to do his work,his mysterious work, to do his deed, his extraordinary deed.	21 Perchè il Signore si alzerà come sul Monte delle divisioni, pieno di sdegno, come nella valle di Gabaon, compirà l'opera sua, opera singolare, compirà l'opera sua, l'opera sua straordinaria.
22 Stop scoffing, then, or your bonds wil be tightened further, for I have heard it: it has been irrevocablydecided as regards the whole country by the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	22 Or dunque non schernite, che non sian più strette le vostre catene; che la distruzione è risoluta e l'ho sentito — dal Signore Dio degli eserciti contro tutta la terra.
23 Listen closely to my words, be attentive, understand what I am saying.	23 Prestate orecchio, ascoltate la mia voce, ponete mente e date retta alle mie parole.
24 Does the ploughman plough al day to sow, breaking up and harrowing his ground?	24 Che forse l'aratore ara sempre per seminare, e (sempre) rompe e sarchia il suo campo?
25 Once he has level ed its surface, does he not scatter fennel, sow cummin? Then he puts in wheat,mil et, barley and, round the edges, spelt,	25 Non è vero forse, che reso uguale il terreno, vi semina il gith, vi sparge il comino, vi mette con regola il grano e l'orzo, il miglio e la veccia sui suoi confini?
26 for his God has taught him this rule and instructed him.	26 E gli dà discernimento, lo ammaestra il suo Dio.
27 Fennel must not be crushed with a sledge, nor cart-wheels driven over cummin; fennel must bebeaten with a stick, and cummin with a flail.	27 Certo non colla trebbia sarà tritolato il gith, e la rota del carro non girerà sopra il cornino; ma il gith si batterà colla verga, e il cornino colla bacchetta;
28 When you are threshing wheat, you do not waste time crushing it; you get the horse and cart-wheelmoving, but you do not grind it fine.	28 il frumento invece sarà trebbiato; ma non sempre starà sotto i colui del trebbiatore, non sempre sarà straziato sotto la rota del carro, non sempre pestato sotto gli zoccoli (delle bestie).
29 Al this is a gift from Yahweh Sabaoth, marvel ous advice leading to great achievements.	29 Anche questo è venuto dal Signore degli eserciti, mirabile nei consigli, magnifico nella giustizia.
