Isaiah 28

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Woe to the haughty crown of Ephraim's drunkards, to the fading flower of its proud splendour sited atthe head of the lush val ey, to those prostrated by wine!	1 Ai da coroa pretensiosa dos embriagados de Efraim e da flor murcha que faz ostentação de seu ornato, dominando o vale fértil de homens vencidos pelo vinho.
2 See, a strong and mighty man in the Lord's service, like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, likeimmense flood-waters overflowing, with his hand he throws them to the ground.	2 Eis que vem, por ordem do Senhor, um homem forte e poderoso como chuva de pedras, um furacão destruidor. Como trombas de água que se abatem com violência, precipita {tudo} por terra.
3 They wil be trampled underfoot, the haughty crown of Ephraim's drunkards,	3 Será pisada aos pés a coroa pretensiosa dos embriagados de Efraim,
4 and the faded flower of its proud splendour sited at the head of the lush val ey. Like a fig ripe beforesummer comes: whoever spots it forthwith picks and swal ows it.	4 e a flor murcha que faz ostentação de seu ornato, dominando o vale fértil. Será como o figo prematuro, antes do verão, que a gente vê, logo colhe, e apenas o tem na mão, já o devora.
5 That day Yahweh Sabaoth wil be a crown of splendour and a proud diadem for the remnant of hispeople,	5 Naquele dia o Senhor dos exércitos será uma coroa resplandecente, um diadema esplêndido para o resto do seu povo,
6 a spirit of fair judgement for him who sits in judgement, and the strength of those who repel the assaulton the gate.	6 um espírito de justiça para o juiz que faz parte do tribunal, e de valentia, para aqueles que rechaçam às portas o inimigo.
7 These too have been confused by wine, have gone astray owing to liquor. Priest and prophet havebecome confused by liquor, are sodden with wine, have strayed owing to liquor, have become confused in theirvisions, have strayed in their decisions.	7 Mas também estes titubeiam sob o efeito do vinho, alucinados pela bebida; sacerdotes e profetas cambaleiam na bebedeira. Estão afogados no vinho, desnorteados pela bebida, perturbados em sua visão, vacilando em seus juízos.
8 Yes, every table is covered in filthy vomit, not one is clean!	8 Todas as mesas estão cobertas, de asqueroso vômito, não há sequer um lugar limpo.
9 'Whom does he think he is lecturing? Whom does he think his message is for? Babies just weaned?Babies just taken from the breast?	9 A quem pretende ele ensinar a sabedoria? A quem quer fazer compreender as revelações? A meninos apenas desmamados que acabam de deixar o seio?
10 With his "Sav lasav, sav lasav, kav lakav, kav lakav, zeer sham, zeer sham!"	10 E ordem sobre ordem, ordem sobre ordem, norma sobre norma, norma sobre norma, ora para cá, ora para lá!
11 Now, with stammering lips and in a foreign language, he wil talk to this nation.	11 Pois bem, será por gente que balbucia, será numa língua bárbara que o Senhor falará a esse povo!
12 He used to say to them, 'Here you can rest! Here you can let the weary rest! Here al is quiet.' But theyrefused to listen.	12 Por mais que se lhes dissesse: Eis o repouso, deixai repousar aquele que está fatigado, é o momento de estarem calmos, eles nada quiseram ouvir.
13 Now Yahweh is going to say this to them, 'Sav lasav, sav lasav, kav lakav, kav lakav, zeer sham, zeersham.' So that when they walk they wil fal over backwards and so be broken, trapped and taken captive.	13 Por isso a palavra de Deus lhes vai dizer: Ordem sobre ordem, ordem sobre ordem, norma sobre norma, norma sobre norma, ora para cá, ora para lá! A fim de que caiam de costas e se despedacem, e sejam apanhados no laço e presos.
14 Hence listen to Yahweh's word, you insolent men, rulers of this people in Jerusalem.	14 Escutai, pois, gracejadores, a palavra do Senhor, vós que governais esse povo que está em Jerusalém.
15 Because you have said, 'We have made a treaty with Death and have struck a pact with Sheol. Whenthe scourging flood comes over, it wil not touch us, for we have made lies our refuge and hidden underfalsehood.'	15 Fizemos um pacto com a morte, dizeis vós, uma convenção com a morada dos mortos; a inundação passará sem atingir-nos porque fizemos da mentira um abrigo, e da perfídia um refúgio.
16 So the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Now I shall lay a stone in Zion, a granite stone, a precious corner-stone, a firm foundation-stone: no one who relies on this will stumble.	16 Por isso o Senhor Deus lhes diz: Eu coloquei em Sião uma pedra, um bloco escolhido, uma pedra angular preciosa, de base: quem confiar nela não tropeçará.
17 And I wil make fair judgement the measure, and uprightness the plumb-line.' But hail wil sweep awaythe refuge of lies and floods wash away the hiding-place;	17 Tomarei o direito por fio de prumo e, por nível, a justiça. O granizo derrubará o abrigo da mentira, e as águas inundarão o refúgio ilusório.
18 your treaty with Death wil be broken and your pact with Sheol wil not hold. When the scourging floodcomes over, you wil be trodden down by it;	18 Vosso pacto com a morte será quebrado, vosso entendimento com a morada dos mortos não subsistirá; quando a onda transbordante passar, sereis por ela esmagados.
19 every time it comes over, it wil seize on you, for it wil come over, morning after morning, day by dayand night by night. Nothing but fear will make you understand what you hear.	19 Cada vez que ela passar, arrebatar-vos-á, porque ela passará cada manhã {de dia e de noite}. E aí só haverá terror na interpretação de oráculos.
20 For the bed is too short to stretch in, the blanket too narrow for covering.	20 Porque o leito será muito curto para que alguém se deite nele, e o cobertor muito estreito para que alguém se cubra com ele.
21 Yes, as on Mount Perazim, Yahweh will rise, as in the Val ey of Gibeon, he wil storm to do his work,his mysterious work, to do his deed, his extraordinary deed.	21 Porque o Senhor se levantará como no monte Perasim e fremirá como no vale de Gabaon para concluir sua obra, sua obra singular, para executar seu trabalho, seu trabalho inaudito.
22 Stop scoffing, then, or your bonds wil be tightened further, for I have heard it: it has been irrevocablydecided as regards the whole country by the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	22 Assim, pois, cessai de zombar para que vossos grilhões não se apertem, porque eu ouvi uma sentença de ruína por ordem do Senhor dos exércitos {contra toda a terra}.
23 Listen closely to my words, be attentive, understand what I am saying.	23 Aplicai os ouvidos para ouvir minha voz, sede atentos para escutar minha palavra!
24 Does the ploughman plough al day to sow, breaking up and harrowing his ground?	24 Porventura o trabalhador trabalha sempre {para semear}? Cava e amanha incessantemente o seu terreno?
25 Once he has level ed its surface, does he not scatter fennel, sow cummin? Then he puts in wheat,mil et, barley and, round the edges, spelt,	25 Acaso, depois de ter aplainado a superfície, não espalhará aí a nigela e semeará o cominho? Ele lançará aí o trigo e a cevada, e a espelta a eito.
26 for his God has taught him this rule and instructed him.	26 É o seu Deus quem o instruiu, quem lhe ensinou o costume.
27 Fennel must not be crushed with a sledge, nor cart-wheels driven over cummin; fennel must bebeaten with a stick, and cummin with a flail.	27 Pois não será necessário pisar a nigela com a grade, nem passar a roda do carro sobre o cominho; mas a nigela será batida com um pau e o cominho com a vara.
28 When you are threshing wheat, you do not waste time crushing it; you get the horse and cart-wheelmoving, but you do not grind it fine.	28 E preciso triturar o trigo? Não, não se bate indefinidamente. Uma vez que sobre ele passe a roda do carro, joeira-se sem triturá-lo.
29 Al this is a gift from Yahweh Sabaoth, marvel ous advice leading to great achievements.	29 Isso também vem do Senhor: admirável é seu conselho e alta a sua sabedoria.
