Sirach 45

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 From Jacob's stock he produced a generous man who found favour in the eyes of al humanity, belovedby God and people, Moses, of blessed memory.	1 Mosè, caro a Dio e agli uomini, di benedetta memoria,
2 He made him the equal of the holy ones in glory and made him strong, to the terror of his enemies.	2 (il Signore) lo fece simile ai santi nella gloria, lo fece grande e terribile per i nemici, e alle sue parole fece cessare gli orrendi prodigi.
3 By the word of Moses, he made prodigies cease and raised him high in the respect of kings; he gavehim commandments for his people, and showed him something of his glory.	3 Lo glorificò nel cospetto dei re, gli diede i suoi ordini dinanzi al popolo, e gli mostrò la sua gloria.
4 For his loyalty and gentleness he sanctified him, choosing him alone out of al human beings;	4 Per la sua fedeltà e mansuetudine lo fece santo, e lo scelse fra tutti i viventi;
5 he al owed him to hear his voice, and led him into the darkness;	5 infatti egli sentì lui e la sua voce, e fu fatto entrare nella nuvola.
6 he gave him the commandments face to face, the law of life and knowledge, to teach Jacob hisordinances and Israel his decrees. He raised up Aaron, a holy man like Moses, his brother, of the tribe of Levi.	6 Ed ebbe, faccia a faccia, i precetti, la legge di vita e di scienza, per insegnare a Giacobbe il suo patto, a Israele i suoi decreti.
7 He made an everlasting covenant with him, and gave him the priesthood of the people. He adorned himwith impressive vestments, he dressed him in a robe of glory.	7 (Dio) sublimò Aronne suo fratello, come lui della tribù di Levi,
8 He clothed him in glorious perfection and invested him with rich ornaments, the breeches, the longrobe, the ephod.	8 e fece con esso un patto eterno, gli diede il sacerdozio della nazione, e lo rese felice nella gloria.
9 To surround the robe he gave him pomegranates, and many gold bel s al round to chime at every step,for their sound to be heard in the Temple as a reminder to the children of his people;	9 Lo recinse colla cintura di gloria, gli pose indosso vestimenti gloriosi, lo circondò di ornamenti preziosi.
10 and a sacred vestment of gold and aquamarine and scarlet, the work of an embroiderer; the pectoralof judgement, the urim and thummim, of plaited crimson, the work of a craftsman;	10 Gli pose la veste talare, i calzoni, l'efod, lo circondò di moltissimi sonagli d'oro, messi in cerchio,
11 precious stones cut like seals mounted in gold, the work of a jeweller, as a reminder with theirengraved inscriptions of the number of the tribes of Israel;	11 perchè facessero rumore quando egli si moveva, e il rumore si sentisse nel tempio per avvertire i figli del suo popolo.
12 and a golden diadem on his turban, engraved with the seal of consecration; superb ornamentation,magnificent work, adornment to delight the eye.	12 La santa veste, tessuta di oro, di giacinto e di porpora, per opera di uomo sapiente pieno di giudizio e di verità,
13 There had never been such lovely things before him, and no one else has ever put them on, but onlyhis own sons, and his descendants for all time.	13 opera d'abile artefice, in filo torto di scarlatto, con gemme preziose incastonate in oro, e tagliate da industre incisore, essendo un memoriale, tante di numero quante le dodici tribù d'Israele.
14 His sacrifices were to be burnt entirely, twice each day and for ever.	14 Una corona d'oro stava sopra la sua mitra coll'iscrizione di santità, magnifico ornamento, prezioso lavoro che rapiva gli occhi colla sua bellezza.
15 Moses consecrated him and anointed him with holy oil; and this was an everlasting covenant for him,and for his descendants as long as the heavens endure, that he should preside over worship, act as priest, andbless the people in the name of the Lord.	15 Cose così belle non furon mai viste prima di lui dal principio del mondo.
16 He chose him out of al the living to offer sacrifices to the Lord, incense and perfume as a memorial tomake expiation for the people.	16 Nessun estraneo se ne vestì, ma soltanto i suoi figlioli e i suoi discendenti per tutti i tempi.
17 He entrusted him with his commandments, committed to him the statutes of the Law for him to teachJacob his decrees and enlighten Israel on his Law.	17 I suoi sacrifizi furono ogni giorno con sumati dal fuoco.
18 Others plotted against him, they were jealous of him in the desert, Dathan and Abiram and their men,Korah and his crew in fury and rage.	18 Mosè riempì le sue inani e lo unse coll'olio santo.
19 The Lord saw it and was displeased, his raging fury made an end of them; he worked miracles onthem, consuming them by his flaming fire.	19 Dio ha fatto con lui e colla sua stirpe un patto eterno come i giorni del cielo: che adempissero le funzioni sacerdotali, cantassero le lodi e benedicessero nel nome di lui il suo popolo.
20 And he added to Aaron's glory, he gave him an inheritance; he allotted him the offerings of the first-fruits, before al else, as much bread as he could want.	20 Lo elesse tra tutti i viventi per offrire a Dio il sacrifizio, l'incenso, l'ottimo profumo, come memoriale, per placarlo in favore del suo popolo,
21 Thus they eat the sacrifices of the Lord which he gave to him and his posterity.	21 e gli diede potere riguardo ai suoi precetti, alle disposizioni dei suoi giudizi, per insegnare a Giacobbe i comandamenti e dar luce a Israele sulla sua legge.
22 But of the people's territory he inherits nothing, he alone of all the people has no share, 'For I myselfam your share and heritage.'	22 COntro di lui si levarono degli, estranei, pieni d'invidia lo circondarono, nel deserto, degli uomini che erano con Datan e Abiron, e così la furiosa fazione di Core.
23 Phinehas son of Eleazar is third in glory because of his zeal in the fear of the Lord, because he stoodfirm when the people revolted, with a staunch and courageous heart; and in this way made expiation for Israel.	23 Il Signore Iddio vide e non gli piacque, e quelli furon consumati dall'impeto del suo furore.
24 Hence a covenant of peace was sealed with him, making him governor of both sanctuary and people,and securing to him and his descendants the high priestly dignity for ever.	24 Fece orrendi prodigi contro di loro, e li consumò con fiamme ardenti.
25 There was also a covenant with David son of Jesse, of the tribe of Judah, a royal succession byexclusively linear descent, but the succession of Aaron passes to al his descendants.	25 Ed aumentò la gloria d'Aronne, gli diede l'eredità e gli assegnò le primizie dei frutti della terra.
26 May God endow your hearts with wisdom to judge his people uprightly, so that the virtues of yourancestors may never fade, and their glory may pass to all their descendants!	26 Prirna di tutto assicurò loro abbondante sostentamento; infatti mangiano dei sacrifizi del Signore, dati a lui e alla sua stirpe.
	27 Ma non può avere eredità nella terra del popolo, non ha porzione tra la sua gente, perchè Dio è la sua porzione, la sua eredità.
	28 Finees, figlio di Eleazaro, è il terzo nella gloria, emulatore di Aronne nel timore del Signore.
	29 Nella defezione del popolo, egli stette saldo; por la bontà e lo zelo ardente dell'anima sua riconciliò Dio con Israele.
	30 Per questo, Dio fece con lui un patto di pace, lo mise a capo delle cose sante e della sua nazione, in modo che egli, e la sua stirpe avesse in eterno la dignità sacerdotale.
	31 Così fece il patto col re David, figlio di Iesse, della tribù di Giuda: l'eredità (del regno) per lui e per i suoi discendenti, per diffondere la sapienza nei nostri cuori, per giudicare il suo popolo con giustizia, in modo che non cessi mai la loro prosperità. Egli rese eterna nella loro nazione la loro gloria.
