Sirach 45

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 From Jacob's stock he produced a generous man who found favour in the eyes of al humanity, belovedby God and people, Moses, of blessed memory.	1 amato da Dio e dagli uomini: Mosè, il cui ricordo è in benedizione.
2 He made him the equal of the holy ones in glory and made him strong, to the terror of his enemies.	2 Gli diede gloria pari a quella dei santi e lo rese grande fra i terrori dei nemici.
3 By the word of Moses, he made prodigies cease and raised him high in the respect of kings; he gavehim commandments for his people, and showed him something of his glory.	3 Per le sue parole fece cessare i prodigi e lo glorificò davanti ai re; gli diede autorità sul suo popolo e gli mostrò parte della sua gloria.
4 For his loyalty and gentleness he sanctified him, choosing him alone out of al human beings;	4 Lo santificò nella fedeltà e nella mitezza, lo scelse fra tutti gli uomini.
5 he al owed him to hear his voice, and led him into the darkness;	5 Gli fece udire la sua voce, lo fece entrare nella nube oscura e gli diede faccia a faccia i comandamenti, legge di vita e d’intelligenza, perché insegnasse a Giacobbe l’alleanza, i suoi decreti a Israele.
6 he gave him the commandments face to face, the law of life and knowledge, to teach Jacob hisordinances and Israel his decrees. He raised up Aaron, a holy man like Moses, his brother, of the tribe of Levi.	6 Egli innalzò Aronne, santo come lui, suo fratello, della tribù di Levi.
7 He made an everlasting covenant with him, and gave him the priesthood of the people. He adorned himwith impressive vestments, he dressed him in a robe of glory.	7 Stabilì con lui un’alleanza perenne e lo fece sacerdote per il popolo. Lo onorò con splendidi ornamenti e gli fece indossare una veste di gloria.
8 He clothed him in glorious perfection and invested him with rich ornaments, the breeches, the longrobe, the ephod.	8 Lo rivestì con il massimo degli onori, lo coronò con paramenti di potenza: calzoni, tunica ed efod.
9 To surround the robe he gave him pomegranates, and many gold bel s al round to chime at every step,for their sound to be heard in the Temple as a reminder to the children of his people;	9 Lo avvolse con melagrane e numerosi campanelli d’oro all’intorno, che suonassero al muovere dei suoi passi, diffondendo il tintinnio nel tempio, come memoriale per i figli del suo popolo.
10 and a sacred vestment of gold and aquamarine and scarlet, the work of an embroiderer; the pectoralof judgement, the urim and thummim, of plaited crimson, the work of a craftsman;	10 Lo avvolse con una veste sacra d’oro, violetto e porpora, opera di ricamatore, con il pettorale del giudizio, con i segni della verità
11 precious stones cut like seals mounted in gold, the work of a jeweller, as a reminder with theirengraved inscriptions of the number of the tribes of Israel;	11 e con tessuto di scarlatto filato, opera d’artista, con pietre preziose, incise come sigilli, incastonate sull’oro, opera d’intagliatore, quale memoriale, con le parole incise secondo il numero delle tribù d’Israele.
12 and a golden diadem on his turban, engraved with the seal of consecration; superb ornamentation,magnificent work, adornment to delight the eye.	12 Sopra il turbante gli pose una corona d’oro con incisa l’iscrizione sacra, insegna d’onore, lavoro vigoroso, ornamento delizioso per gli occhi.
13 There had never been such lovely things before him, and no one else has ever put them on, but onlyhis own sons, and his descendants for all time.	13 Prima di lui non si erano viste cose tanto belle, mai uno straniero le ha indossate, ma soltanto i suoi figli e i suoi discendenti per sempre.
14 His sacrifices were to be burnt entirely, twice each day and for ever.	14 I suoi sacrifici vengono interamente bruciati, due volte al giorno, senza interruzione.
15 Moses consecrated him and anointed him with holy oil; and this was an everlasting covenant for him,and for his descendants as long as the heavens endure, that he should preside over worship, act as priest, andbless the people in the name of the Lord.	15 Mosè riempì le sue mani e lo unse con olio santo. Ciò divenne un’alleanza perenne per lui e per i suoi discendenti, finché dura il cielo: quella di presiedere al culto ed esercitare il sacerdozio e benedire il popolo nel suo nome.
16 He chose him out of al the living to offer sacrifices to the Lord, incense and perfume as a memorial tomake expiation for the people.	16 Lo scelse fra tutti i viventi perché offrisse sacrifici al Signore, incenso e profumo come memoriale, e perché compisse l’espiazione per il popolo.
17 He entrusted him with his commandments, committed to him the statutes of the Law for him to teachJacob his decrees and enlighten Israel on his Law.	17 Nei suoi comandamenti gli diede il potere di pronunciare giudizi, perché insegnasse a Giacobbe le sue testimonianze e illuminasse Israele nella sua legge.
18 Others plotted against him, they were jealous of him in the desert, Dathan and Abiram and their men,Korah and his crew in fury and rage.	18 Contro di lui insorsero uomini stranieri e furono gelosi di lui nel deserto: erano gli uomini di Datan e di Abiròn e quelli dell’assemblea di Core, furiosi e violenti.
19 The Lord saw it and was displeased, his raging fury made an end of them; he worked miracles onthem, consuming them by his flaming fire.	19 Il Signore vide e se ne indignò; essi finirono annientati nella furia della sua ira. Egli compì prodigi a loro danno, per distruggerli con il fuoco della sua fiamma.
20 And he added to Aaron's glory, he gave him an inheritance; he allotted him the offerings of the first-fruits, before al else, as much bread as he could want.	20 E aumentò la gloria di Aronne, gli assegnò un’eredità: gli riservò le primizie dei frutti, gli assicurò anzitutto pane in abbondanza.
21 Thus they eat the sacrifices of the Lord which he gave to him and his posterity.	21 Si nutrono infatti delle vittime offerte al Signore, che egli ha assegnato a lui e ai suoi discendenti.
22 But of the people's territory he inherits nothing, he alone of all the people has no share, 'For I myselfam your share and heritage.'	22 Tuttavia non ha eredità nella terra del popolo, non c’è porzione per lui in mezzo al popolo, perché il Signore è la sua parte e la sua eredità.
23 Phinehas son of Eleazar is third in glory because of his zeal in the fear of the Lord, because he stoodfirm when the people revolted, with a staunch and courageous heart; and in this way made expiation for Israel.	23 Fineès, figlio di Eleàzaro, fu il terzo nella gloria, per il suo zelo nel timore del Signore, per la sua fermezza quando il popolo si ribellò, per la bontà coraggiosa della sua anima; egli fece espiazione per Israele.
24 Hence a covenant of peace was sealed with him, making him governor of both sanctuary and people,and securing to him and his descendants the high priestly dignity for ever.	24 Per questo con lui fu stabilita un’alleanza di pace, perché presiedesse al santuario e al popolo; così a lui e alla sua discendenza fu riservata la dignità del sacerdozio per sempre.
25 There was also a covenant with David son of Jesse, of the tribe of Judah, a royal succession byexclusively linear descent, but the succession of Aaron passes to al his descendants.	25 Per l’alleanza fatta con Davide, figlio di Iesse, della tribù di Giuda, l’eredità del re passa solo di figlio in figlio, l’eredità di Aronne invece passa a tutta la sua discendenza.
26 May God endow your hearts with wisdom to judge his people uprightly, so that the virtues of yourancestors may never fade, and their glory may pass to all their descendants!	26 Vi infonda Dio sapienza nel cuore, per giudicare il suo popolo con giustizia, perché non svanisca la loro prosperità e la loro gloria duri per sempre.
