Sirach 45

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 From Jacob's stock he produced a generous man who found favour in the eyes of al humanity, belovedby God and people, Moses, of blessed memory.	1 [Un uomo] caro a Dio e agli uomini, Mosè, la cui memoria è in benedizione.
2 He made him the equal of the holy ones in glory and made him strong, to the terror of his enemies.	2 Lo fece pari ai santi nella gloria, e grande per il timore incusso a' nemici. Con la parola di lui fe'cessare i prodigi,
3 By the word of Moses, he made prodigies cease and raised him high in the respect of kings; he gavehim commandments for his people, and showed him something of his glory.	3 e lo glorificò al cospetto dei re. E diede a Lui gli ordini per il suo popolo, e gli mostrò la propria gloria.
4 For his loyalty and gentleness he sanctified him, choosing him alone out of al human beings;	4 Per la sua fede e mansuetudine lo consacrò, lo scelse tra tutti i viventi.
5 he al owed him to hear his voice, and led him into the darkness;	5 E gli fece udire la sua voce, e lo fece entrare nella nuvola.
6 he gave him the commandments face to face, the law of life and knowledge, to teach Jacob hisordinances and Israel his decrees. He raised up Aaron, a holy man like Moses, his brother, of the tribe of Levi.	6 E gli diede a faccia a faccia i comandamenti, e la legge della vita e del sapere, perchè Istruisse Giacobbe nel suo patto e nelle sue prescrizioni Israele.
7 He made an everlasting covenant with him, and gave him the priesthood of the people. He adorned himwith impressive vestments, he dressed him in a robe of glory.	7 Esaltò [anche] Aronne suo fratello, e simile a lui, della tribù di Levi.
8 He clothed him in glorious perfection and invested him with rich ornaments, the breeches, the longrobe, the ephod.	8 Stabilì con lui un patto eterno, e gli conferì il sacerdozio del popolo, e lo colmò di magnificenza.
9 To surround the robe he gave him pomegranates, and many gold bel s al round to chime at every step,for their sound to be heard in the Temple as a reminder to the children of his people;	9 E lo cinse d'una fascia di gloria, e lo rivestì di magnifica veste; e l'ornò d'indumenti maestosi,
10 and a sacred vestment of gold and aquamarine and scarlet, the work of an embroiderer; the pectoralof judgement, the urim and thummim, of plaited crimson, the work of a craftsman;	10 gli diede la tunica, le brache e l'efod. E lo circondò di [melagrani] d'oro, e di molti sonagli in giro,
11 precious stones cut like seals mounted in gold, the work of a jeweller, as a reminder with theirengraved inscriptions of the number of the tribes of Israel;	11 che risonassero al suo incedere, e facessero udire il [loro] suono nel tempio, ad avvertimento de' figliuoli del suo popolo.
12 and a golden diadem on his turban, engraved with the seal of consecration; superb ornamentation,magnificent work, adornment to delight the eye.	12 [Lo rivestì] di un paramento santo, tessuto d'oro, di giacinto e di porpora, del razionale del giudizio - oracolo di verità, —
13 There had never been such lovely things before him, and no one else has ever put them on, but onlyhis own sons, and his descendants for all time.	13 di [Alo] torto scarlatto, lavoro d'artista, con pietre preziose intagliate a mo'di sigillo, in legatura d'oro e incise per opera di lapidario, sì da essere un memoriale, secondo il numero della tribù d'Israele.
14 His sacrifices were to be burnt entirely, twice each day and for ever.	14 Gli [pose] una corona d'oro sulla sua tiara, improntata col sigillo della consacrazione, insegna d'onore, lavoro squisito, delizia degli occhi e splendido ornamento.
15 Moses consecrated him and anointed him with holy oil; and this was an everlasting covenant for him,and for his descendants as long as the heavens endure, that he should preside over worship, act as priest, andbless the people in the name of the Lord.	15 Prima di lui non ci fu nulla di simile da che mondo è mondo;
16 He chose him out of al the living to offer sacrifices to the Lord, incense and perfume as a memorial tomake expiation for the people.	16 nessuno straniero mal se ne rivestì, ma solo i figliuoli di lui, e i suoi discendenti in perpetuo.
17 He entrusted him with his commandments, committed to him the statutes of the Law for him to teachJacob his decrees and enlighten Israel on his Law.	17 I suoi sacrifizi furon consumati dal fuoco due volte ogni giorno [senza interruzione],
18 Others plotted against him, they were jealous of him in the desert, Dathan and Abiram and their men,Korah and his crew in fury and rage.	18 Mosè gli riempì le mani, e l'unse con olio santo.
19 The Lord saw it and was displeased, his raging fury made an end of them; he worked miracles onthem, consuming them by his flaming fire.	19 E fu [fermato] così un patto eterno con lui, e con la sua stirpe per la durata de' cieli, di [ministrare al Signore ed] esercitare il sacerdozio, e benedire il suo popolo nel nome di lui.
20 And he added to Aaron's glory, he gave him an inheritance; he allotted him the offerings of the first-fruits, before al else, as much bread as he could want.	20 Lo scelse Dio tra tutt'i viventi, per offrire al Signore il sacrifizio, l'incenso e il profumo soave in memoria, per propiziarlo col suo popolo.
21 Thus they eat the sacrifices of the Lord which he gave to him and his posterity.	21 E gli dette nei suoi comandamenti, autorità sulle disposizioni del [sacro] patto, per insegnare a Giacobbe i [suoi] precetti, e illuminare Israele nella sua legge.
22 But of the people's territory he inherits nothing, he alone of all the people has no share, 'For I myselfam your share and heritage.'	22 Contro di lui si levaron de' profani, e con insidia l'attorniarono nel deserto, gli uomini [cioè] del partito di Datan e Abiron e la fazione di Gore, con furore [ed ira].
23 Phinehas son of Eleazar is third in glory because of his zeal in the fear of the Lord, because he stoodfirm when the people revolted, with a staunch and courageous heart; and in this way made expiation for Israel.	23 Vide [ciò] il Signore e non gli piacque, e furon sterminati in un impeto d'ira.
24 Hence a covenant of peace was sealed with him, making him governor of both sanctuary and people,and securing to him and his descendants the high priestly dignity for ever.	24 Operò prodigi contro di loro, e li divorò con la fiamma del [suo] fuoco.
25 There was also a covenant with David son of Jesse, of the tribe of Judah, a royal succession byexclusively linear descent, but the succession of Aaron passes to al his descendants.	25 E accrebbe la gloria d'Aronne, e gli assegnò l'ereditò. Le primizie de' prodotti del suoio distribuì ad esso:
26 May God endow your hearts with wisdom to judge his people uprightly, so that the virtues of yourancestors may never fade, and their glory may pass to all their descendants!	26 il pane anzitutto fornì loro a sazietà, perchè mangeranno de' sacrifizi del Signore, ch'egli assegnò a lui e alla sua stirpe.
	27 Però nel territorio del popolo egli non ha eredità, e non gli è toccata parte tra la sua gente: perchè Egli stesso, [il Signore], è la sua parte e la sua eredità.
	28 Finees, figliuolo di Eleazaro, è il terzo nella gloria, per aver gareggiato con lui nel timor del Signore,
	29 e per esser rimasto saldo, In mezzo alla defezione del popolo, con la nobiltà e la risoluzione dell'animo suo, [sicché] propiziò Dio con Israele.
	30 Perciò [il Signore] fermò con lui un patto di pace, [che lo istituiva] capo delle cose sante e del suo popolo, affinchè a lui e alla sua progenie appartenesse la dignità del sacerdozio in eterno.
	31 E [come per] il patto con David, figliuolo di Jesse della tribù di Giuda, [l'eredità del re passa solo di figlio in figlio], [così] l'eredità [d'Aronne tocca] a lui c alla sua discendenza. Dia [il Signore] a voi, [o sacerdoti], la sapienza nel cuore, per giudicare il suo popolo con equità, perchè non cessi la sua prosperità, e la sua gloria in eterno!
