Psalms 70

NEW JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 [For the choirmaster Of David In commemoration] Be pleased, God, to rescue me, Yahweh, comequickly and help me!	1 For the leader; of David. For remembrance.
2 Shame and dismay to those who seek my life! Back with them! Let them be humiliated who delight inmy misfortunes.	2 Graciously rescue me, God! Come quickly to help me, LORD!
3 Let them shrink away covered with shame, those who say to me, 'Aha, aha!'	3 Confound and put to shame those who seek my life. Turn back in disgrace those who desire my ruin.
4 But joy and happiness in you to al who seek you. Let them ceaselessly cry, 'God is great', who loveyour saving power.	4 Let those who say "Aha!" turn back in their shame.
5 Poor and needy as I am, God, come quickly to me! Yahweh, my helper, my Saviour, do not delay!	5 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who long for your help always say, "God be glorified!"
	6 Here I am, afflicted and poor. God, come quickly! You are my help and deliverer. LORD, do not delay!
