NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] I waited, I waited for Yahweh, then he stooped to me and heardmy cry for help.	1 Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Esperei no Senhor com toda a confiança. Ele se inclinou para mim, ouviu meus brados.
2 He pul ed me up from the seething chasm, from the mud of the mire. He set my feet on rock, andmade my footsteps firm.	2 Tirou-me de uma fossa mortal, de um charco de lodo; assentou-me os pés numa rocha, firmou os meus passos;
3 He put a fresh song in my mouth, praise of our God. Many wil be awestruck at the sight, and will puttheir trust in Yahweh.	3 pôs-me nos lábios um novo cântico, um hino à glória de nosso Deus. Muitos verão essas coisas e prestarão homenagem a Deus, e confiarão no Senhor.
4 How blessed are those who put their trust in Yahweh, who have not sided with rebels and those whohave gone astray in falsehood.	4 Feliz o homem que pôs sua esperança no Senhor, e não segue os idólatras nem os apóstatas.
5 How much you have done, Yahweh, my God -- your wonders, your plans for us -- you have no equal. Iwil proclaim and speak of them; they are beyond number.	5 Senhor, meu Deus, são maravilhosas as vossas inumeráveis obras e ninguém vos assemelha nos desígnios para conosco. Eu quisera anunciá-los e divulgá-los, mas são mais do que se pode contar.
6 You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering, but you gave me an open ear, you did not ask for burntoffering or sacrifice for sin;	6 Não vos comprazeis em nenhum sacrifício, em nenhuma oferenda, mas me abristes os ouvidos: não desejais holocausto nem vítima de expiação.
7 then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming.' In the scrol of the book it is written of me,	7 Então eu disse: Eis que eu venho. No rolo do livro está escrito de mim:
8 my delight is to do your will; your law, my God, is deep in my heart.	8 fazer vossa vontade, meu Deus, é o que me agrada, porque vossa lei está no íntimo de meu coração.
9 I proclaimed the saving justice of Yahweh in the great assembly. See, I will not hold my tongue, as youwel know.	9 Anunciei a justiça na grande assembléia, não cerrei os meus lábios, Senhor, bem o sabeis.
10 I have not kept your saving justice locked in the depths of my heart, but have spoken of yourconstancy and saving help. I have made no secret of your faithful and steadfast love, in the great assembly.	10 Não escondi vossa justiça no coração, mas proclamei alto vossa fidelidade e vossa salvação. Não ocultei a vossa bondade nem a vossa fidelidade à grande assembléia.
11 You, Yahweh, have not withheld your tenderness from me; your faithful and steadfast love will alwaysguard me.	11 E vós, Senhor, não me recuseis vossas misericórdias; protejam-me sempre vossa graça e vossa fidelidade,
12 For troubles surround me, until they are beyond number; my sins have overtaken me; I cannot seemy way. They outnumber the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.	12 porque males sem conta me cercaram. Minhas faltas me pesaram, a ponto de não agüentar vê-las; mais numerosas que os cabelos de minha cabeça. Sinto-me desfalecer.
13 Be pleased, Yahweh, to rescue me, Yahweh, come quickly and help me!	13 Comprazei-vos, Senhor, em me livrar. Depressa, Senhor, vinde em meu auxílio.
14 Shame and dismay to al who seek to take my life. Back with them, let them be humiliated whodelight in my misfortunes.	14 Sejam confundidos e humilhados os que procuram arrebatar-me a vida. Recuem e corem de vergonha os que se comprazem com meus males.
15 Let them be aghast with shame, those who say to me, 'Aha, aha!'	15 Fiquem atônitos, cheios de confusão, os que me dizem: Bem feito! Bem feito!
16 But joy and happiness in you to all who seek you! Let them ceaselessly cry, 'Great is Yahweh' wholove your saving power.	16 Ao contrário, exultem e se alegrem em vós todos os que vos procuram; digam sem cessar aqueles que desejam vosso auxílio: Glória ao Senhor.
17 Poor and needy as I am, the Lord has me in mind. You, my helper, my Saviour, my God, do notdelay.	17 Quanto a mim, sou pobre e desvalido, mas o Senhor vela por mim. Sois meu protetor e libertador: ó meu Deus, não tardeis.
