1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] I waited, I waited for Yahweh, then he stooped to me and heardmy cry for help.	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.
2 He pul ed me up from the seething chasm, from the mud of the mire. He set my feet on rock, andmade my footsteps firm.	2 Ho sperato, ho sperato nel Signore,ed egli su di me si è chinato,ha dato ascolto al mio grido.
3 He put a fresh song in my mouth, praise of our God. Many wil be awestruck at the sight, and will puttheir trust in Yahweh.	3 Mi ha tratto da un pozzo di acque tumultuose,dal fango della palude;ha stabilito i miei piedi sulla roccia,ha reso sicuri i miei passi.
4 How blessed are those who put their trust in Yahweh, who have not sided with rebels and those whohave gone astray in falsehood.	4 Mi ha messo sulla bocca un canto nuovo,una lode al nostro Dio.Molti vedranno e avranno timoree confideranno nel Signore.
5 How much you have done, Yahweh, my God -- your wonders, your plans for us -- you have no equal. Iwil proclaim and speak of them; they are beyond number.	5 Beato l’uomo che ha posto la sua fiducia nel Signoree non si volge verso chi segue gli idoliné verso chi segue la menzogna.
6 You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering, but you gave me an open ear, you did not ask for burntoffering or sacrifice for sin;	6 Quante meraviglie hai fatto,tu, Signore, mio Dio,quanti progetti in nostro favore:nessuno a te si può paragonare!Se li voglio annunciare e proclamare,sono troppi per essere contati.
7 then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming.' In the scrol of the book it is written of me,	7 Sacrificio e offerta non gradisci,gli orecchi mi hai aperto,non hai chiesto olocausto né sacrificio per il peccato.
8 my delight is to do your will; your law, my God, is deep in my heart.	8 Allora ho detto: «Ecco, io vengo.Nel rotolo del libro su di me è scritto
9 I proclaimed the saving justice of Yahweh in the great assembly. See, I will not hold my tongue, as youwel know.	9 di fare la tua volontà:mio Dio, questo io desidero;la tua legge è nel mio intimo».
10 I have not kept your saving justice locked in the depths of my heart, but have spoken of yourconstancy and saving help. I have made no secret of your faithful and steadfast love, in the great assembly.	10 Ho annunciato la tua giustizia nella grande assemblea;vedi: non tengo chiuse le labbra, Signore, tu lo sai.
11 You, Yahweh, have not withheld your tenderness from me; your faithful and steadfast love will alwaysguard me.	11 Non ho nascosto la tua giustizia dentro il mio cuore,la tua verità e la tua salvezza ho proclamato.Non ho celato il tuo amoree la tua fedeltà alla grande assemblea.
12 For troubles surround me, until they are beyond number; my sins have overtaken me; I cannot seemy way. They outnumber the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.	12 Non rifiutarmi, Signore, la tua misericordia;il tuo amore e la tua fedeltà mi proteggano sempre,
13 Be pleased, Yahweh, to rescue me, Yahweh, come quickly and help me!	13 perché mi circondano mali senza numero,le mie colpe mi opprimono e non riesco più a vedere:sono più dei capelli del mio capo,il mio cuore viene meno.
14 Shame and dismay to al who seek to take my life. Back with them, let them be humiliated whodelight in my misfortunes.	14 Dégnati, Signore, di liberarmi;Signore, vieni presto in mio aiuto.
15 Let them be aghast with shame, those who say to me, 'Aha, aha!'	15 Siano svergognati e confusiquanti cercano di togliermi la vita.Retrocedano, coperti d’infamia,quanti godono della mia rovina.
16 But joy and happiness in you to all who seek you! Let them ceaselessly cry, 'Great is Yahweh' wholove your saving power.	16 Se ne tornino indietro pieni di vergognaquelli che mi dicono: «Ti sta bene!».
17 Poor and needy as I am, the Lord has me in mind. You, my helper, my Saviour, my God, do notdelay.	17 Esultino e gioiscano in tequelli che ti cercano;dicano sempre: «Il Signore è grande!»quelli che amano la tua salvezza.
	18 Ma io sono povero e bisognoso:di me ha cura il Signore.Tu sei mio aiuto e mio liberatore:mio Dio, non tardare.
