1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, thecanals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt." '	1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè: « Va da Faraone e digli: Queste cose dice il Signore: Lascia andare il mio popolo, affinchè mi offra dei sacrifizi:
2 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the landof Egypt.	2 e se non lo lasci andare, ecco che io colpirò tutto il tuo paese col flagello delle rane:
3 But by their spel s the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.	3 il fiume brulicherà di rane che, salendo, entreranno nella tua casa, nella camera dove dormi, nel tuo letto, nelle case dei tuoi servi e del tuo popolo, nei tuoi forni e nel resto dei tuoi cibi.
4 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from meand my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	4 E le rane assaliranno te, il tuo popolo e tutti i tuoi servi ».
5 Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, yourofficials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they wil be left only in theRiver?'	5 E il Signore disse a Mosè: « Di' ad Aronne: stendi la tua mano sopra i fiumi, sui canali e le paludi, e fa' uscir le rane sulla terra d'Egitto ».
6 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shal be as you say, so that you wil know that there is no one likeYahweh our God.	6 E Aronne stese la mano sopra le acque d'Egitto e le rane salirono a coprir la terra d'Egitto.
7 The frogs wil leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and wil be left only in the River.'	7 Ma i maghi fecero altrettanto coi loro incantesimi, e fecero uscir fuori delle rane sopra la terra d'Egitto.
8 Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which hehad inflicted on Pharaoh.	8 Allora Faraone, fatti chiamare Mosè ed Aronne, disse loro: « Pregate il Signore che tolga da me e dal mio popolo le rane, ed io lascerò andare il popolo, perchè offra sacrifizi al Signore ».
9 Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.	9 E Mosè disse a Faraone: « Dimmi, per quando io devo pregare per te e pei tuoi servi e pel tuo popolo, affinchè le rane siano allontanate da te, dalla tua casa, dai tuoi servi, dal tuo popolo, e restino soltanto nel fiume? »
10 They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.	10 Egli rispose: « Per domani ». E Mosè: « Farò come tu dici, affinchè tu conosca che non vi è nessuno uguale al Signore Dio nostro,
11 But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh hadforetold, refused to listen to them.	11 Allora le rane andranno via da te, dalla tua casa, dai tuoi servi, dal tuo popolo, e resteranno soltanto nel fiume ».
12 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, andit wil turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt." '	12 Mosè ed Aronne partirono da Faraone; e Mosè gridò al Signore a motivo della promessa fatta a Faraone riguardo alle rane.
13 Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast; al the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.	13 E il Signore ascoltò la parola di Mosè, e le rane delle case, delle ville e dei campi morirono:
14 By their spel s the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast.	14 e radunarono in mucchi immensi, e la terra ne fu infettata.
15 So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, asYahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.	15 Ma Faraone, vedendo che gli era dato un po' di sollievo, indurò il suo cuore, e non diè ascolto a Mosè e ad Aronne, come il Signore aveva detto.
16 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his wayto the water. Say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.	16 E il Signore disse a Mosè: « Di' ad Aronne: Stendi la tua verga e percuoti la polvere della terra e ne escano zanzare in tutta, la terra d'Egitto ».
17 But if you wil not let my people go, I shal send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects andyour houses. The Egyptians' houses wil swarm with horseflies, and so wil the very ground they stand on.	17 Ed essi così fecero: Aronne stese la mano, e colla verga battè la polvere della terra, e le zanzare assalirono uomini e giumenti: tutta la polvere della terra diventò zanzare per tutto il paese d'Egitto,
18 But I shal exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be nohorseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.	18 E i maghi tentarono di fare altrettanto coi loro incantesimi, per produrre delle zanzare; ma non poterono. E le zanzare andarono addosso agli uomini come agli animali.
19 I shal make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign wil take place tomorrow." '	19 Allora i maghi dissero a Faraone: « Qui v'è il dito di Dio ». Ma Faraone s'indurò nel suo cuore e non diede ascolto a Mosè e ad Aronne, come aveva detto il Signore.
20 Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into hisofficials' houses and al over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.	20 E il Signore disse ancora a Mosè: « Alzati presto, e presentati a Faraone, che uscirà per andare alle acque, e digli: Cosi dice il Signore: Lascia partire il mio popolo, affinchè mi offra dei sacrifizi.
21 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside thecountry.'	21 Se tu non lo lasci andare, ecco, io manderò sopra di te, sopra i tuoi servi, sopra il tuo popolo e sopra le tue case ogni razza di mosche; e le case degli Egiziani e tutta la terra da loro abitata saran piene di mosche d'ogni specie.
22 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to theEgyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?	22 Ma io renderò maravigliosa in quel giorno la terra di Gessen, dove sta il mio popolo; e là non ci saran mosche, affinchè tu conosca che io sono il Signore in mezzo alla terra.
23 We shal make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has orderedus.'	23 Io dunque farò questa distinzione fra il mio e il tuo popolo: e domani avverrà il prodigio ».
24 Pharaoh said, 'I wil let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not govery far. Pray for me.'	24 E il Signore così fece. E le mosche molestissime invasero le case di Faraone e dei suoi servi, e tutto il paese d'Egitto; e la terra fu infetta da tali mosche.
25 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shal pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies willeave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not al owing the people togo and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	25 Allora Faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aronne e disse loro: « Andate a offrire sacrifizi al vostro Dio in questo paese ».
26 Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,	26 Ma Mosè rispose: « Ciò non è possibile, perchè dovremo sacrificare al Signore Dio nostro animali che per gli Egiziani è sacrilegio uccidere: or se noi davanti agli occhi degli Egiziani uccideremo ciò che essi adorano, ci lapideranno.
27 and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not oneremained.	27 Noi dobbiamo andare per tre giorni di cammino nel deserto, a sacrificare al Signore Dio nostro, come egli ci ha ordinato ».
28 But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.	28 E Faraone: « Io vi lascerò andare a sacrificare al Signore Dio vostro nel deserto; ma non andate troppo lontano: e pregate per me».
	29 E Mosè disse: « Partito che sarò da te, pregherò il Signore, e domani le mosche se ne andranno via da Faraone, dai suoi servi, e dal suo popolo; ma non continuare a ingannarci per impedire che il popolo vada a sacrificare al Signore ».
	30 E, partitosi da Faraone, Mosè pregò il Signore,
	31 quale fece quanto Mosè gli aveva domandato, e tolse le mosche da Faraone, dai suoi servi e dal suo popolo: non ne restò neppur una.
	32 Ma il cuore di Faraone s'indurò in modo, che nemmeno questa volta lasciò andare il popolo.
