1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, thecanals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt." '	1 - Disse ancora il Signore a Mosè: Presentati al Faraone, e digli: - Il Signore dice così: " Lascia andare il mio popolo per offrirmi un sacrifizio;
2 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the landof Egypt.	2 se non lo lascerai andare, ecco ch' io flagellerò tutto il tuo territorio con le rane.
3 But by their spel s the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.	3 Il fiume pullulerà di rane, che saliranno ed entreranno in casa tua, nella camera dove dormi, sul tuo letto, nelle case dè tuoi ministri, fra il tuo popolo, nè tuoi forni, nè tuoi cibi;
4 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from meand my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	4 a te, al tuo popolo ed a tutti i tuoi servi arriveranno le rane " -».
5 Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, yourofficials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they wil be left only in theRiver?'	5 Disse poi il Signore a Mosè: «Dirai ad Aronne: - Stendi la tua mano sui fiumi, sui rivi, sugli stagni, e fanne uscir rane sulla terra d'Egitto».
6 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shal be as you say, so that you wil know that there is no one likeYahweh our God.	6 Aronne stese la mano sulle acque d'Egitto, e ne uscirono rane che ricoprirono tutta la regione.
7 The frogs wil leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and wil be left only in the River.'	7 Anche i maghi fecero lo stesso con le loro incantagioni, e fecero venire rane sulla terra d'Egitto.
8 Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which hehad inflicted on Pharaoh.	8 Allora il Faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aronne, e disse loro: «Pregate il Signore, che mandi via le rane da me e dal mio popolo, ed io lascerò andare il popolo acciò sacrifichi al Signore».
9 Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.	9 Rispose Mosè al Faraone: «Stabilisci tu per quando debbo pregare per te, pei tuoi servi e per il tuo popolo, che s'allontanino le rane da te, dalla tua casa, dai tuoi servi e dal tuo popolo, e rimangano soltanto nel fiume».
10 They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.	10 Rispose: «Per domani». E Mosè: «Farò com'hai detto, acciò tu vegga che non v'è nessuno come il Signore Dio nostro.
11 But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh hadforetold, refused to listen to them.	11 Le rane andranno via da te, dalla tua casa, da' tuoi servi e dal tuo popolo, e rimarranno soltanto nel fiume».
12 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, andit wil turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt." '	12 Uscirono Mosè ed Aronne dal Faraone; e Mosè gridò al Signore per la promessa fatta al Faraone, riguardo alle rane.
13 Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast; al the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.	13 Ed il Signore fece secondo aveva detto Mosè: morirono le rane delle case, delle ville, dei campi;
14 By their spel s the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast.	14 ne furon fatti dei mucchi immensi, e la terra ne fu infetta.
15 So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, asYahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.	15 Ma vedendo il Faraone che gli veniva data tregua, aggravò il suo cuore, e non ascoltò Mosè ed Aronne in ciò che aveva ordinato il Signore.
16 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his wayto the water. Say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.	16 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Dì ad Aronne: - Stendi la tua verga, percuoti la polvere della terra, e vengano le zanzare in tutto l'Egitto -».
17 But if you wil not let my people go, I shal send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects andyour houses. The Egyptians' houses wil swarm with horseflies, and so wil the very ground they stand on.	17 E fecero così. Aronne, tenendo la verga, stese la mano, e percosse la polvere della terra; vennero le zanzare sugli uomini e sugli animali; tutta la polvere della terra in tutto l'Egitto diventò zanzare.
18 But I shal exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be nohorseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.	18 I maghi co' loro incantesimi tentaron pure di far venire le zanzare, ma non vi riuscirono; ed erano queste tanto sugli uomini quanto sugli animali.
19 I shal make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign wil take place tomorrow." '	19 Dissero allora i maghi al Faraone: «Qui v'è il dito di Dio». Ma il cuore del Faraone s'indurò, e non ascoltò Mosè ed Aronne come aveva detto il Signore.
20 Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into hisofficials' houses and al over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.	20 Disse ancora il Signore a Mosè: «Alzati presto, e va' incontro al Faraone. Egli andrà al fiume, e tu gli dirai: - Il Signore dice così: "Lascia andare il mio popolo acciò mi sacrifichi.
21 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside thecountry.'	21 Che se non lo lascerai andare, io manderò a te, a' tuoi servi, nel tuo popolo e nelle tue case ogni genere di mosche; tutte le case degli Egiziani, e tutta la terra ov'essi abitano, saran piene di mosche di diversa specie.
22 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to theEgyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?	22 In quel giorno io farò una maraviglia nella terra di Gessen dove abita il mio popolo, così che non vi siano mosche e così conoscerai che sono io il Signore della tua terra.
23 We shal make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has orderedus.'	23 Farò questa differenza tra il popolo mio ed il popolo tuo; e questa maraviglia avverrà domani"-».
24 Pharaoh said, 'I wil let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not govery far. Pray for me.'	24 Così fece il Signore. Venne un'invasione di mosche insopportabili nelle case del Faraone e de' suoi servi, e per tutto l'Egitto; e la terra fu infetta da simili mosche.
25 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shal pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies willeave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not al owing the people togo and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	25 Allora il Faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aronne, e disse loro: «Andate, e sacrificate al vostro Dio nella mia terra».
26 Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,	26 Ma Mosè rispose: «Ciò non può farsi; perché noi faremo al Signore Dio nostro un sacrifizio che è abominevole per gli Egiziani. Se infatti noi uccideremo sotto gli occhi degli Egiziani quel che essi adorano, ci lapideranno.
27 and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not oneremained.	27 Ci addentreremo nel deserto per tre giorni di cammino, e sacrificheremo al Signore Dio nostro, come ci ha comandato».
28 But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.	28 Disse il Faraone: «Vi farò partire, acciò sacrifichiate al Signore Dio vostro nel deserto; però, non v'allontanate di più; pregate per me».
	29 Disse Mosè: «Lasciato che ti avrò, pregherò il Signore, e le mosche si partiranno domani dal Faraone, da' suoi servi, e dal suo popolo; ma tu, non volerci più ingannare col non permettere al popolo di sacrificare al Signore».
	30 Uscito dunque Mosè dal Faraone, pregò il Signore,
	31 il quale fece secondo la sua dimanda, e mandò via le mosche dal Faraone, da' suoi servi, dal suo popolo; non ne rimase neppure una.
	32 Ma il cuore del Faraone s'aggravò ancora, tanto che nemmeno questa volta lasciò partire il popolo.
