1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, thecanals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt." '	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Di' ad Aronne: "Stendi la tua mano con il tuo bastone sui fiumi, sui canali e sugli stagni, e fa' salire le rane sul paese d'Egitto".
2 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the landof Egypt.	2 Aronne stese la sua mano sull'acqua d'Egitto: le rane salirono e coprirono il paese d'Egitto.
3 But by their spel s the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.	3 E lo stesso fecero i maghi con i loro sortilegi: fecero salire le rane sul paese d'Egitto.
4 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from meand my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	4 Il faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aronne e disse: "Pregate il Signore, perché allontani le rane da noi e dal mio popolo, e io manderò il popolo a sacrificare al Signore".
5 Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, yourofficials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they wil be left only in theRiver?'	5 Mosè disse al faraone: "Fammi l'onore di comunicarmi quando potrò pregare per te, per i tuoi servi, per il tuo popolo, per far scomparire le rane da te e dalle tue case, e ne restino solo nel fiume".
6 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shal be as you say, so that you wil know that there is no one likeYahweh our God.	6 Rispose: "Domani". Rispose: "Secondo la tua parola, perché tu sappia che non c'è nessuno come il Signore, nostro Dio.
7 The frogs wil leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and wil be left only in the River.'	7 Le rane si allontaneranno da te, dalle tue case, dai tuoi servi, dal tuo popolo: ne resteranno solo nel fiume".
8 Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which hehad inflicted on Pharaoh.	8 Uscì, Mosè con Aronne, dal faraone, e Mosè gridò al Signore riguardo alle rane, che aveva mandate al faraone.
9 Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.	9 Il Signore fece secondo la parola di Mosè: le rane morirono nelle case, nei cortili e nei campi.
10 They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.	10 Le raccolsero in mucchi, e il paese puzzava.
11 But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh hadforetold, refused to listen to them.	11 Il faraone vide che c'era sollievo, indurì il suo cuore e non li ascoltò, come aveva detto il Signore.
12 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, andit wil turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt." '	12 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Di' ad Aronne: "Stendi il tuo bastone e batti la polvere del suolo: ci saranno zanzare in tutto il paese d'Egitto".
13 Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast; al the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.	13 Essi fecero così; Aronne stese la sua mano con il suo bastone e colpì la polvere del suolo, e ci furono zanzare sugli uomini e sulle bestie: tutta la polvere del suolo diventò zanzare, in tutto il paese d'Egitto.
14 By their spel s the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast.	14 Allo stesso modo fecero i maghi con i loro sortilegi per far uscire le zanzare, ma non poterono: e ci furono zanzare su uomini e bestie.
15 So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, asYahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.	15 I maghi dissero al faraone: "Dito di un Dio è quello". Ma il cuore del faraone si indurì e non li ascoltò, come aveva detto il Signore.
16 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his wayto the water. Say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.	16 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Alzati di buon mattino e mettiti davanti al faraone, proprio quando esce verso l'acqua, e digli: "Così ha detto il Signore: manda via il mio popolo perché mi serva.
17 But if you wil not let my people go, I shal send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects andyour houses. The Egyptians' houses wil swarm with horseflies, and so wil the very ground they stand on.	17 Poiché, se tu non mandi via il mio popolo, ecco manderò su di te, sui tuoi servi, sul tuo popolo e nelle tue case dei mosconi: i mosconi riempiranno le case d'Egitto e anche il suolo su cui stanno.
18 But I shal exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be nohorseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.	18 Ma preserverò in quel giorno la terra di Gosen, dove sta il mio popolo, perché non vi siano mosconi, in modo che tu sappia che io sono il Signore in mezzo al paese.
19 I shal make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign wil take place tomorrow." '	19 Porrò uno scampo tra il mio popolo e il tuo popolo: questo segno avverrà domani".
20 Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into hisofficials' houses and al over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.	20 Il Signore fece così; vennero in massa i mosconi nella casa del faraone, nella casa dei suoi servi e in tutta la terra d'Egitto: il paese fu devastato dai mosconi.
21 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside thecountry.'	21 Il faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aronne e disse: "Andate a sacrificare al vostro Dio nel paese".
22 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to theEgyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?	22 Mosè disse: "Non possiamo certo fare così, poiché quello che noi sacrifichiamo al Signore, nostro Dio, è un abominio per gli Egiziani. Ecco, sacrificando ciò che è un abominio per gli Egiziani davanti ai loro occhi, non ci lapideranno forse?
23 We shal make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has orderedus.'	23 Per un cammino di tre giorni andremo nel deserto a sacrificare al Signore, nostro Dio, come ci aveva detto".
24 Pharaoh said, 'I wil let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not govery far. Pray for me.'	24 Il faraone disse: "Io vi manderò a sacrificare al Signore, vostro Dio, nel deserto: solo, non andate lontano. Pregate per me".
25 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shal pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies willeave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not al owing the people togo and sacrifice to Yahweh.'	25 Mosè disse: "Ecco, io esco da te e pregherò il Signore: domani si allontaneranno i mosconi dal faraone, dai suoi servi, dal suo popolo. Solo che il faraone non ci prenda più in giro non lasciando partire il popolo, perché possa sacrificare al Signore".
26 Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,	26 Mosè uscì dal faraone e pregò il Signore.
27 and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not oneremained.	27 Il Signore fece secondo la parola di Mosè e allontanò i mosconi dal faraone, dai suoi servi e dal suo popolo: non ne restò uno.
28 But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.	28 Ma il faraone indurì il suo cuore anche questa volta e non mandò via il popolo.
