Exodus 7

1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Look, I have made you as a god for Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron is tobe your prophet.	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Vedi, faccio di te come un dio per il faraone, e Aronne, tuo fratello, sarà il tuo profeta.
2 You must say whatever I command you, and your brother Aaron wil repeat to Pharaoh that he is to letthe Israelites leave his country.	2 Tu dirai tutto quello che ti ordinerò e Aronne, tuo fratello, parlerà al faraone, perché lasci andare via i figli d'Israele dalla sua terra.
3 But I myself shal make Pharaoh stubborn and shall perform many a sign and wonder in Egypt.	3 Ma io indurirò il cuore del faraone e moltiplicherò i miei segni e i miei prodigi in terra di Egitto.
4 Since Pharaoh wil not listen to you, I shal lay my hand on Egypt and with great acts of judgement leadmy armies, my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.	4 Il faraone non vi ascolterà, e porterò la mia mano contro l'Egitto e farò uscire le mie schiere, il mio popolo, i figli d'Israele, dalla terra d'Egitto con grandi castighi.
5 And the Egyptians wil know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand against the Egyptians andlead the Israelites out of their country.'	5 L'Egitto saprà allora che io sono il Signore, quando stenderò la mia mano sull'Egitto e farò uscire i figli d'Israele di mezzo a loro".
6 Moses and Aaron did exactly as Yahweh had ordered.	6 Mosè ed Aronne fecero come aveva ordinato loro il Signore: così fecero.
7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three, when they spoke to Pharaoh.	7 Quando parlarono al faraone, Mosè aveva ottant'anni e Aronne ottantatré.
8 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron,	8 Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne:
9 'If Pharaoh says to you, "Display some marvel," you must say to Aaron, "Take your staff and throw itdown in front of Pharaoh, and let it turn into a serpent!" '	9 "Se il faraone vi parla dicendo: "Fate un prodigio", dirai ad Aronne: "Prendi il tuo bastone e gettalo davanti al faraone: diventerà un drago".
10 Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as Yahweh had ordered. Aaron threw down his staff infront of Pharaoh and his officials, and it turned into a serpent.	10 Mosè ed Aronne vennero dal faraone e fecero come aveva ordinato il Signore; Aronne gettò il suo bastone davanti al faraone e davanti ai suoi servi, e diventò un drago.
11 Then Pharaoh in his turn called for the sages and sorcerers, and by their spells the magicians of Egyptdid the same.	11 Ma anche il faraone chiamò sapienti e incantatori, e anche i maghi d'Egitto coi loro sortilegi fecero così.
12 Each threw his staff down and these turned into serpents. But Aaron's staff swal owed up theirs.	12 Ognuno gettò il proprio bastone, che diventò drago, ma il bastone di Aronne ingoiò i loro bastoni.
13 Pharaoh, however, remained obstinate and, as Yahweh had foretold, refused to listen to Moses andAaron.	13 Tuttavia il cuore del faraone restò duro e non li ascoltò, come aveva detto il Signore.
14 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Pharaoh is adamant. He refuses to let the people go.	14 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Il cuore del faraone si è indurito rifiutando di lasciare andare il popolo.
15 Go to Pharaoh tomorrow morning as he makes his way to the water, confront him on the river bankand in your hand take the staff that turned into a snake.	15 Va' dal faraone di mattina, proprio quando esce verso l'acqua: mettiti in modo da incontrarlo ai margini del fiume, e terrai in mano il bastone che si è cambiato in serpente.
16 Say to him, "Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, sent me to say: Let my people go and worship in thedesert. Up til now, you have refused to listen.	16 Gli dirai: "Il Signore, Dio degli Ebrei, mi ha mandato da te dicendo: manda via il mio popolo, perché mi serva nel deserto; ecco, finora tu non hai ascoltato.
17 This is what Yahweh says: You wil know that I am Yahweh by this: with the staff that is in my hand Ishall strike the waters of the River and they wil turn to blood.	17 Così dice il Signore: con questo saprai che io sono il Signore: ecco, con il bastone che ho in mano, io colpirò l'acqua che è nel fiume, e si cambierà in sangue.
18 The fish in the river wil die, and the River wil stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink the riverwater." '	18 I pesci che sono nel fiume moriranno, il fiume puzzerà e l'Egitto non potrà più bere l'acqua del fiume".
19 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters ofEgypt -- over their rivers and canals, their marshland, and all their reservoirs -- and they wil turn to blood. Therewil be blood throughout the whole of Egypt, even in sticks and stones." '	19 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Di' ad Aronne: "Prendi il tuo bastone e stendi la tua mano sulle acque dell'Egitto, sui suoi fiumi, sui suoi canali, sui suoi stagni e su tutti i loro depositi d'acqua, e diventerà sangue; ci sarà sangue in tutto il paese d'Egitto, nei recipienti di legno e di pietra".
20 Moses and Aaron did as Yahweh ordered. He raised his staff and struck the waters of the River, withPharaoh and his officials looking on, and al the water in the River turned to blood.	20 Così fecero Mosè ed Aronne, come aveva ordinato il Signore: alzò il suo bastone e colpì l'acqua che era nel fiume davanti agli occhi del faraone e agli occhi dei suoi servi, e tutta l'acqua che era nel fiume si cambiò in sangue.
21 The fish in the River died, and the River stank; and the Egyptians could no longer drink the Riverwater. Throughout the whole of Egypt there was blood.	21 I pesci che erano nel fiume morirono, il fiume puzzò, e gli Egiziani non poterono berne le acque. Vi fu sangue in tutto il paese d'Egitto.
22 But by their spel s the magicians of Egypt did the same; Pharaoh remained obstinate and, as Yahwehhad foretold, refused to listen to Moses and Aaron.	22 Lo stesso fecero i maghi d'Egitto con i loro sortilegi; e il cuore del faraone si indurì e non li ascoltò, come aveva detto il Signore.
23 Pharaoh turned away and went back into his palace, taking no notice even of this.	23 Il faraone si voltò e andò alla sua casa, e non fece caso neppure a ciò.
24 And the Egyptians al dug holes along the river-bank in search of drinking water, since they could notdrink the River water.	24 Tutti gli Egiziani scavarono nei dintorni del fiume per avere acqua potabile, perché non potevano bere dell'acqua del fiume.
25 After Yahweh struck the River, seven days went by.	25 Sette giorni trascorsero, da quando il Signore aveva colpito il fiume.
26 Then Yahweh said to Moses, 'Go to Pharaoh and say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people goand worship me.	26 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Entra dal faraone e digli: "Così ha detto il Signore: manda via il mio popolo perché mi serva.
27 If you refuse to let them go, I shal strike your whole territory with frogs.	27 E se tu rifiuti di mandarlo via, ecco io colpisco tutti i tuoi confini con delle rane.
28 The River wil swarm with frogs; they wil make their way into your palace, into your bedroom, ontoyour bed, into the houses of your officials and subjects, into your ovens, into your kneading bowls.	28 Il fiume pullulerà di rane: saliranno e verranno nella tua casa, nella camera dove riposi e sul tuo letto, nella casa dei tuoi servi e tra il tuo popolo, nei tuoi forni e nelle tue madie.
29 The frogs wil actual y clamber onto you, onto your subjects and onto all your officials." '	29 Contro di te, contro il tuo popolo e contro tutti i tuoi servi saliranno le rane".
