1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Look, I have made you as a god for Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron is tobe your prophet.	1 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Ecco che io ti ho costituito dio di Faraone: e Aronne tuo fratello sarà tuo profeta.
2 You must say whatever I command you, and your brother Aaron wil repeat to Pharaoh that he is to letthe Israelites leave his country.	2 Tu dirai a lui tutto quello che io ordino a te: ed egli dirà a Faraone, che lasci partire dal suo paese i figliuoli d'Israele.
3 But I myself shal make Pharaoh stubborn and shall perform many a sign and wonder in Egypt.	3 Ma io indurerò il cuore di lui, e moltiplicherò i segni, e i prodigi miei nella terra di Egitto;
4 Since Pharaoh wil not listen to you, I shal lay my hand on Egypt and with great acts of judgement leadmy armies, my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.	4 Ed ei non vi ascolterà: e io stenderò la mia mano sopra l'Egitto, e ne trarrò i figliuoli d'Israele, esercito e popolo mio dalla terra d'Egitto per mezzo di grandi vendette.
5 And the Egyptians wil know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand against the Egyptians andlead the Israelites out of their country.'	5 E conosceranno gli Egiziani, che io sono il Signore, che stenderò la mia mano sopra l'Egitto, e trarrò i figliuoli d'Israele di mezzo ad essi.
6 Moses and Aaron did exactly as Yahweh had ordered.	6 Fece adunque Mosè, e Aronne, conforme avea comandato il Signore: così fecero.
7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three, when they spoke to Pharaoh.	7 E Mosè avea ottant'anni, e Aronne ottantatré, quando parlarono a Faraone.
8 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron,	8 E il Signore disse a Mosè, e ad Aronne:
9 'If Pharaoh says to you, "Display some marvel," you must say to Aaron, "Take your staff and throw itdown in front of Pharaoh, and let it turn into a serpent!" '	9 Quando Faraone vi dirà: Fate vedere i miracoli: tu dirai ad Aronne: Prendi la tua verga, e gettala davanti a Faraone; ed ella si cangerà in serpente.
10 Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as Yahweh had ordered. Aaron threw down his staff infront of Pharaoh and his officials, and it turned into a serpent.	10 Andati adunque Mosè, e Aronne a trovar Faraone, fecero, come il Signore avea lor comandato: e Aronne gettò la verga dinanzi a Faraone, e dinanzi a' servi di lui, e quella si cangiò in serpente.
11 Then Pharaoh in his turn called for the sages and sorcerers, and by their spells the magicians of Egyptdid the same.	11 Ma Faraone chiamò i sapienti, e i maghi: e questi ancora mediante gl'incantesimi egiziani, e mediante certi segreti fecero il simile.
12 Each threw his staff down and these turned into serpents. But Aaron's staff swal owed up theirs.	12 E gettarono ognun di essi le loro verghe, le quali si mutarono in dragoni: ma la verga di Aronne divorò le loro verghe.
13 Pharaoh, however, remained obstinate and, as Yahweh had foretold, refused to listen to Moses andAaron.	13 E s'indurò il cuore di Faraone; e non gli ascoltò, come il Signore avea ordinato.
14 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Pharaoh is adamant. He refuses to let the people go.	14 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Il cuore di Faraone è ostinato: non vuol lasciar partire il mio popolo.
15 Go to Pharaoh tomorrow morning as he makes his way to the water, confront him on the river bankand in your hand take the staff that turned into a snake.	15 Va' a trovarlo al mattino, quando anderà al fiume: e tu sta attendendolo sulla riva del fiume: e prendi in mano la verga, che si cangiò in dragone.
16 Say to him, "Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, sent me to say: Let my people go and worship in thedesert. Up til now, you have refused to listen.	16 E gli dirai: Il Signore Dio degli Ebrei mi mandò a dirti: Lascia andare il mio popolo ad offerirmi sacrifizio nel deserto: e tu, fino al presente non hai voluto dar retta.
17 This is what Yahweh says: You wil know that I am Yahweh by this: with the staff that is in my hand Ishall strike the waters of the River and they wil turn to blood.	17 Il Signore adunque dice queste cose: Da questo conoscerai, ch'io sono il Signore: Ecco ch'io percuoterò colla verga, che ho in mano, l'acqua del fiume, ed ella si cangerà in sangue.
18 The fish in the river wil die, and the River wil stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink the riverwater." '	18 I pesci ancora, che sono nel fiume morranno, e si corromperanno le acque, e gli Egiziani, che bevon l'acqua del fiume, patiranno.
19 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters ofEgypt -- over their rivers and canals, their marshland, and all their reservoirs -- and they wil turn to blood. Therewil be blood throughout the whole of Egypt, even in sticks and stones." '	19 Disse ancora il Signore a Mosè: Di’ ad Aronne: Prendi la tua verga, e stendi la tua mano sopra le acque d'Egitto, e sopra i loro fiumi, e rivi, e paludi, e su tutti i laghi di acque, affinché si cangino in sangue: e sangue sia in tutta la terra d'Egitto, tanto nei vasi di legno, come in quei di pietra.
20 Moses and Aaron did as Yahweh ordered. He raised his staff and struck the waters of the River, withPharaoh and his officials looking on, and al the water in the River turned to blood.	20 E fecer Mosè, e Aronne, conforme avea ordinato il Signore; e quegli alzata la verga percosse l'acqua del fiume alla presenza di Faraone, e de' suoi servi: e quella si converse in sangue.
21 The fish in the River died, and the River stank; and the Egyptians could no longer drink the Riverwater. Throughout the whole of Egypt there was blood.	21 E i pesci, che eran nel fiume, morirono: e il fiume si corruppe, e non poteano gli Egiziani bere l'acqua del fiume; e sangue fu per tutta la terra di Egitto.
22 But by their spel s the magicians of Egypt did the same; Pharaoh remained obstinate and, as Yahwehhad foretold, refused to listen to Moses and Aaron.	22 E fecero il simile i maghi degli Egiziani co' loro incantesimi: e s'indurò il cuore di Faraone, e non ascoltò Mosè, e Aronne, conforme avea loro ordinato il Signore.
23 Pharaoh turned away and went back into his palace, taking no notice even of this.	23 E volse ad essi le spalle, ed entrò nella sua casa, e non si piegò il cuore di lui neppur questa volta.
24 And the Egyptians al dug holes along the river-bank in search of drinking water, since they could notdrink the River water.	24 E tutti gli Egiziani scavarono intorno al fiume per trovar acqua da bere, non potendo bere l'acqua del fiume.
25 After Yahweh struck the River, seven days went by.	25 E passaron sette interi giorni, dopo che il Signore ebbe percorso il fiume
26 Then Yahweh said to Moses, 'Go to Pharaoh and say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people goand worship me.
27 If you refuse to let them go, I shal strike your whole territory with frogs.
28 The River wil swarm with frogs; they wil make their way into your palace, into your bedroom, ontoyour bed, into the houses of your officials and subjects, into your ovens, into your kneading bowls.
29 The frogs wil actual y clamber onto you, onto your subjects and onto all your officials." '
