1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Look, I have made you as a god for Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron is tobe your prophet.	1 Dijo Yahveh a Moisés: «Mira que te he constituido como dios para Faraón y Aarón, tu hermano, será tu profeta;
2 You must say whatever I command you, and your brother Aaron wil repeat to Pharaoh that he is to letthe Israelites leave his country.	2 tú le dirás cuanto yo te mande; y Aarón, tu hermano, se lo dirá a Faraón, para que deje salir de su país a los israelitas.
3 But I myself shal make Pharaoh stubborn and shall perform many a sign and wonder in Egypt.	3 Yo, por mi parte, endureceré el corazón de Faraón, y multiplicaré mis señales y mis prodigios en el país de Egipto.
4 Since Pharaoh wil not listen to you, I shal lay my hand on Egypt and with great acts of judgement leadmy armies, my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.	4 Faraón no os escuchará, pero yo pondré mi mano sobre Egipto y sacaré de la tierra de Egipto a mi ejército, mi pueblo, los israelitas, a fuerza de duros castigos.
5 And the Egyptians wil know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand against the Egyptians andlead the Israelites out of their country.'	5 Y los egipcios reconocerán que yo soy Yahveh, cuando extienda mi mano sobre Egipto y saque de en medio de ellos a los hijos de Israel.»
6 Moses and Aaron did exactly as Yahweh had ordered.	6 Moisés y Aarón hicieron lo que les mandó Yahveh.
7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three, when they spoke to Pharaoh.	7 Tenía Moisés ochenta años, y Aarón 83 cuando hablaron a Faraón.
8 Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron,	8 Habló Yahveh a Moisés y Aarón, y dijo:
9 'If Pharaoh says to you, "Display some marvel," you must say to Aaron, "Take your staff and throw itdown in front of Pharaoh, and let it turn into a serpent!" '	9 «Cuando Faraón os diga: Haced algún prodigio, dirás a Aarón: “Toma tu cayado y échalo delante de Faraón, y que se convierta en serpiente.”»
10 Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as Yahweh had ordered. Aaron threw down his staff infront of Pharaoh and his officials, and it turned into a serpent.	10 Presentáronse, pues, Moisés y Aarón a Faraón, e hicieron lo que Yahveh había ordenado: Aarón echó su cayado delante de Faraón y de sus servidores, y se convirtió en serpiente.
11 Then Pharaoh in his turn called for the sages and sorcerers, and by their spells the magicians of Egyptdid the same.	11 También Faraón llamó a los sabios y a los hechiceros, y también ellos, los sabios egipcios, hicieron con sus encantamientos las mismas cosas.
12 Each threw his staff down and these turned into serpents. But Aaron's staff swal owed up theirs.	12 Echó cada cual su vara, y se trocaron en serpientes; pero el cayado de Aarón devoró sus varas.
13 Pharaoh, however, remained obstinate and, as Yahweh had foretold, refused to listen to Moses andAaron.	13 Sin embargo el corazón de Faraón se endureció, y no les escuchó, conforme había predicho Yahveh.
14 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Pharaoh is adamant. He refuses to let the people go.	14 Entonces dijo Yahveh a Moisés: «El corazón de Faraón es obstinado; se niega a dejar salir al pueblo.
15 Go to Pharaoh tomorrow morning as he makes his way to the water, confront him on the river bankand in your hand take the staff that turned into a snake.	15 Preséntate a Faraón por la mañana, cuando vaya a la ribera. Le saldrás al encuentro a la orilla del Río, llevando en tu mano el cayado que se convirtió en serpiente.
16 Say to him, "Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, sent me to say: Let my people go and worship in thedesert. Up til now, you have refused to listen.	16 Y le dirás: Yahveh, el Dios de los hebreos, me ha enviado a ti para decirte: “Deja partir a mi pueblo, para que me den culto en el desierto”; pero hasta el presente no has escuchado.
17 This is what Yahweh says: You wil know that I am Yahweh by this: with the staff that is in my hand Ishall strike the waters of the River and they wil turn to blood.	17 Así dice Yahveh: En esto conocerás que yo soy Yahveh: Mira que voy a golpear con el cayado que tengo en la mano las aguas del Río, y se convertirán en sangre.
18 The fish in the river wil die, and the River wil stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink the riverwater." '	18 Los peces del Río morirán, y el Río quedará apestado de modo que los egipcios no podrán ya beber agua del Río.»
19 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters ofEgypt -- over their rivers and canals, their marshland, and all their reservoirs -- and they wil turn to blood. Therewil be blood throughout the whole of Egypt, even in sticks and stones." '	19 Yahveh dijo a Moisés: «Di a Aarón: Toma tu cayado, y extiende tu mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, sobre sus canales, sobre sus ríos, sobre sus lagunas y sobre todos sus depósitos de agua. Se convertirán en sangre; y habrá sangre en toda la tierra de Egipto, hasta en los árboles y la piedras.»
20 Moses and Aaron did as Yahweh ordered. He raised his staff and struck the waters of the River, withPharaoh and his officials looking on, and al the water in the River turned to blood.	20 Moisés y Aarón hicieron lo que Yahveh les había mandado: alzó el cayado y golpeó las aguas que hay en el Rió en presencia de Faraón y de sus servidores, y todas las aguas del Rió se convirtieron en sangre.
21 The fish in the River died, and the River stank; and the Egyptians could no longer drink the Riverwater. Throughout the whole of Egypt there was blood.	21 Los peces del Río murieron, el Río quedó apestado de modo que los egipcios nos pudieron beber el agua del Río; hubo sangre en todo el país de Egipto.
22 But by their spel s the magicians of Egypt did the same; Pharaoh remained obstinate and, as Yahwehhad foretold, refused to listen to Moses and Aaron.	22 Pero lo mismo hicieron con sus encantamientos los magos de Egipto; y el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no les escuchó, como había dicho Yahveh.
23 Pharaoh turned away and went back into his palace, taking no notice even of this.	23 Se volvió Faraón y entró en su casa sin hacer caso de ello.
24 And the Egyptians al dug holes along the river-bank in search of drinking water, since they could notdrink the River water.	24 Y todos los egipcios tuvieron que cavar en los alrededores del Río en busca de agua potable, porque no podían beber las aguas del Río.
25 After Yahweh struck the River, seven days went by.	25 Pasaron siete días desde que Yahveh hirió el Río.
26 Then Yahweh said to Moses, 'Go to Pharaoh and say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people goand worship me.	26 Y dijo Yahveh a Moisés: «Preséntate a Faraón y dile: Así dice Yahveh: “Deja salir a mi pueblo para que me dé culto.”
27 If you refuse to let them go, I shal strike your whole territory with frogs.	27 Si te niegas a dejarle partir infestaré de ranas todo tu país.
28 The River wil swarm with frogs; they wil make their way into your palace, into your bedroom, ontoyour bed, into the houses of your officials and subjects, into your ovens, into your kneading bowls.	28 El Río bullirá de ranas, que subirán y entrarán en tu casa, en tu dormitorio y en tu lecho, en las casas de tus servidores y en tu pueblo, en tus hornos y en tus artesas.
29 The frogs wil actual y clamber onto you, onto your subjects and onto all your officials." '	29 Subirán la ranas sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo, y sobre tus siervos.»
