3 son of Shechaniah; of the sons of Parosh: Zechariah, and with him a hundred and fifty males officiallyregistered;	3 De' figliuoli di Sechenia figliuoli diPharos, Zaccharia, e con lui si contarono cento cinquanta uomini.
4 of the sons of Pahath-Moab: Elioenai son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males;	4 De' figliuoli di Phaath-Moab, Elioenai figliuolo di Zarehe, e con lui dugento uomini.

12 of the sons of Azgad: Johanan son of Hakkatan, and with him a hundred and ten males;	12 De' figliuoli di Azgad, Johanan figliuolo di Eccetan, e con lui centodieci uomini.
13 of the sons of Adonikam: the younger sons, whose names are: Eliphelet, Jeiel and Shemaiah, and withthem sixty males;	13 De' figliuoli di Adonicam, che furono gli ultimi: i nomi son questi: Elipheleth, e Jehiel, e Samaia, e con essi sessanta uomini.
14 and of the sons of Bigvai: Uthai son of Zabud, and with him seventy males.	14 De' figliuoli di Begui, Uthai, e Zachur, e con essi sessanta uomini.
15 I assembled them near the canal which runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days. I noticedlaymen and priests, but I could not discover any Levites there.	15 Orioli radunai presso al fiume, che sbocca nell'Ahava, e ivi ci fermammo tre giorni: e avendo cercato tral popolo, e tra i sacerdoti qualche Levita, non vel trovai.
16 I then sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam,judicious men,	16 Mandai adunque Eliezer, e Ariel, e Semeia, ed Elnathan, e Jarib, e un altro Elnathan, e Nathan, e Zacharia, e Mosollam dei principali, e Joiarib, ed Elnathan uomini sapienti.
17 and sent them to Iddo, the leading man of a place cal ed Casiphia; I told them what they were to say toIddo and his kinsmen, living at the place cal ed Casiphia, that is, to provide us with people to serve the Temple ofour God.	17 Li mandai a trovare Eddo, che è il più riputato del luogo di Casphia, e posi loro in bocca le parole, che dovean dire ad Eddo, e a' suoj fratelli Nathinei del luogo di Casphia, affinchè ci menasser dei ministri della casa del nostro Dio.
18 And because the hand of God was good to us, they sent us a wise man of the sons of Mahli son ofLevi, son of Israel, a certain Sherebiah with his sons and kinsmen: eighteen men;	18 E per beneficenza del nostro Dio verso di noi ci menarono un uomo dottissimo de' figliuoli di Moholi, figliuolo di Levi, figliuolo d'Israele, Sarabia co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli diciotto.
19 also Hashabiah and with him his brother Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari with his kinsmen and sons:twenty men;	19 E Hasabia, e con lui Isaia de' figliuoli di Merari co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli venti:
20 and two hundred and twenty temple slaves -- descendants of the temple slaves whom David and theprinces had assigned to serve the Levites -- all of them designated by name.	20 E de' Nathinei destinati da David, e dai principi al servizio dei Leviti, dugento venti Nathinei: tutti questi aveano un nome distinto.
21 There, beside the Ahava Canal, I then proclaimed a fast, to humble ourselves before our God and topray to him for a successful journey for us, our dependants and all our belongings.	21 E colà presso il fiume Ahava intimai un digiuno, affine di umiliarci dinanzi al Signore Dio nostro per chiedergli buon viaggio per noi, e pe' nostri figliuoli, e per le cose nostre.
22 For I should have been ashamed to ask the king for a company of cavalry to protect us from hostilepeople on our road, as we had already said to the king, 'The hand of our God is over al who seek him for theirprotection, but his mighty retribution befal s al those who forsake him.'	22 Perocché io ebbi rossore di chiedere al re in aiuto de' soldati a cavallo, che ci difendessero per istrada dal nemico; perchè noi avevamo detto al re: La mano del nostro Dio assiste tutti quelli, che lo cercano con sincerità: e il suo impero, e la sua possanza, e il suo furore si fan sentire a tutti quelli, che lo abbandonano.
23 So we fasted and pleaded with our God about this, and he heard us.	23 A questo fine digiunammo, e facemmo orazione al npstro Dio: e la cosa passò felicemente per noi.
24 I next chose twelve of the leading priests, and also Sherebiah and Hashabiah with ten of their kinsmen.	24 E de' principali sacerdoti ne separai dodici, Sarabia, e Hasabia, e altri dieci de' lor fratelli con essi:
25 To them I weighed out the silver, the gold and the utensils, the contributions which the king, hiscounsel ors, his notables and al the Israelites there present had made for the Temple of our God.	25 E consegnai loro l'argento, e l'oro a peso, e i vasi sagri della casa del nostro Dio offerti dal re, e da' suoi consiglieri, e da' suoi grandi, e da tutti gl'Israeliti, che si erano trovati (colà):
26 To them I weighed out and handed over six hundred and fifty talents of silver, one hundred utensils ofsilver valued at two talents, one hundred talents of gold,	26 E rimisi nelle loro mani il peso di secento cinquanta talenti d'argento, e cento vasi di argento, e cento talenti di oro:
27 twenty golden bowls valued at a thousand darics and two utensils of fine burnished copper as preciousas gold.	27 E venti ciotole di oro pesanti mille dramme, e due vasi di un bronzo lucente finissimo, belli, come quelli di oro.
28 I said to them, 'You are consecrated to Yahweh; these utensils are consecrated too; the silver and gold are a voluntary offering to Yahweh, God of your ancestors.	28 E dissi loro: Voi i santi del Signore, e santi i vasi, e l'argento, e l'oro offerto spontaneamente al Signore Dio de' padri nostri,
29 Guard them carefully until you weigh them out to the leading priests, the Levites, and the heads offamilies of Israel in Jerusalem in the rooms of the Temple of Yahweh.'	29 Custoditeli con vigilanza, per sino a tanto che il tutto rimettiate a peso al tesoro della casa del Signore in presenza de' principi de' sacerdoti, e de' Leviti, e de' capi delle famiglie in Gerusalemme.
30 The priests and Levites then took charge of the silver, the gold and the utensils thus weighed, to bringthem to Jerusalem to the Temple of our God.	30 E i sacerdoti, e i Leviti ricevettero pesato l'oro, e l'argento, e i vasi per portargli a Gerusalemme alla casa del nostro Dio.
31 On the twelfth day of the first month we left the Ahava Canal to make our way to Jerusalem; the handof our God was over us and protected us from enemies and surprise attacks on our way.	31 Ci partimmo adunque dal fiume Ahava ai dodici del primo mese per incamminarci verso Gerusalemme: e la mano del nostro Dio fu sopra di noi e ci liberò dalla mano, e dall'insidie del nemico.
32 When we arrived in Jerusalem, we rested for three days.	32 E arrivammo a Gerusalemme, e ivi ci riposammo tre giorni.
33 On the fourth day the silver, the gold and the utensils were weighed in the Temple of our God andhanded over to the priest Meremoth son of Uriah and, with him, Eleazar son of Phinehas; with them were theLevites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.	33 E il quarto giorno fu pesato l'argento, e l'oro, e i vasi nella casa del nostro Dio per mano di Meremoth figliuolo di Uria sacerdote, con cui era anche Eleazaro figliuolo di Phinees, e insieme con essi Jozabed figliuolo di Josuè, e Noadaia figliuolo di Bennoi, Leviti.
34 By number and weight al was there. The total weight was recorded at the same time.	34 Tutto fu contato, e pesato: e di tutto fu fatto allora inventario.
35 When the exiles arrived from their captivity, they offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel -- twelvebulls on behalf of all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-two lambs, and as a sin offering twelve he-goats: the wholeof this as a burnt offering to Yahweh.	35 E i figliuoli della trasmigrazione tornati dalla cattività offersero olocausti al Dio d'Israele, dodici vitelli per tutto il popolo d'Israele, novantasei arieti,settantasette agnelli, e dodici capri per lo peccato: tutto questo in olocausto al Signore.
36 They also delivered the king's instructions to the king's satraps and the governors of Transeuphrates,who then supported the people and the Temple of God.	36 E presentarono gli editti del re ai satrapi della sua corte, e a quelli, che governavano oltre al fiume, ed ei favoreggiarono il popolo, e la casa di Dio.
