NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame and came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with difficultquestions, with a very large retinue with camels laden with spices and an immense quantity of gold and preciousstones. Having reached Solomon, she discussed everything that she had in mind with him,	1 La reina de Sabá había oído la fama de Salomón, y vino a Jerusalén para probar a Salomón por medio de enigmas, con gran séquito y con camellos que traían aromas, gran cantidad de oro y piedras preciosas. Llegada que fue donde Salomón, le dijo todo cuanto tenía en su corazón.
2 and Solomon had an answer for al her questions; not one of them was too obscure for Solomon toanswer for her.	2 Salomón resolvió todas sus preguntas; y no hubo ninguna proposición oscura que Salomón no pudiese resolver.
3 When the queen of Sheba saw how wise Solomon was, the palace which he had built,	3 Cuando la reina de Sabá vio la sabiduría de Salomón y la casa que había edificado,
4 the food at his table, the accommodation for his officials, the organisation of his staff and the way theywere dressed, his cupbearers and the way they were dressed, and the burnt offerings, which he made in theTemple of Yahweh, it left her breathless,	4 los manjares de su mesa, las habitaciones de sus servidores, el porte de sus ministros y sus vestidos, sus coperos con sus trajes y los holocaustos que ofrecía en la Casa de Yahveh, se quedó sin aliento,
5 and she said to the king, 'The report I heard in my own country about you and about your wisdom inhandling your affairs was true, then!	5 y dijo al rey: «Verdad es cuanto oí decir en mi tierra de tus palabras y de tu sabiduría.
6 Until I came and saw for myself, I did not believe the reports, but clearly I was told less than half aboutthe true extent of your wisdom. You surpass what was reported to me.	6 No daba yo crédito a lo que se decía, hasta que he venido y lo he visto con mis propios ojos; y encuentro que no se me había contado ni la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría, pues tú superas todo lo que oí decir.
7 How fortunate your people are! How fortunate your courtiers, continually in attendance on you andlistening to your wisdom!	7 ¡Dichosas tus gentes! ¡Dichosos estos tus servidores, que están siempre en tu presencia y escuchan tu sabiduría!
8 Blessed be Yahweh your God. Because your God loved Israel and meant to keep it secure for ever, hehas made you its king to administer law and justice.'	8 ¡Bendito sea Yahveh, tu Dios, que se ha complacido en ti, poniéndote sobre su trono como rey de Yahveh, tu Dios, por el amor que tu Dios tiene hacia Israel para conservarle por siempre, y te ha puesto por rey sobre ellos para administrar derecho y justicia!»
9 And she presented the king with a hundred and twenty talents of gold and great quantities of spicesand precious stones. There never were such spices as those which the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.	9 Dio al rey 120 talentos de oro, gran cantidad de aromas y piedras preciosas. Nunca hubo aromas como los que la reina de Sabá dio al rey Salomón.
10 Similarly, the men employed by Huram and the men employed by Solomon, who brought the goldfrom Ophir, also brought back algum wood and precious stones.	10 Los siervos de Juram y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído oro de Ofir, trajeron también madera de algummim y piedras preciosas.
11 Of the algum wood the king made steps for the Temple of Yahweh and for the royal palace, and harpsand lyres for the musicians, the like of which had never before been seen in Judah.	11 Con la madera de algummim hizo el rey entarimados para la Casa de Yahveh y la casa del rey, cítaras y salterios para los cantores. 12 And King Solomon, in his turn, presented the queen of Sheba with everything that she expressed awish for, besides what he gave her in exchange for what she had brought to the king. After which, she wenthome to her own country, she and her servants.	12 El rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo cuanto ella quiso pedirle, aparte lo que ella había traído al rey. Después se volvió y regresó a su país con sus servidores.
13 The weight of the gold received annually by Solomon amounted to six hundred and sixty-six talents ofgold,	13 El peso del oro que llegaba a Salomón cada año era de 666 talentos de oro,
14 besides what tol s and foreign trade brought in; all the Arab kings and the provincial governors alsobrought gold and silver to Solomon.	14 sin contar las contribuciones de los mercaderes y comerciantes. Todos los reyes de Arabia y los inspectores del país traían oro y plata a Salomón.
15 King Solomon made two hundred great shields of beaten gold, six hundred shekels of beaten goldgoing into one shield;	15 Hizo el rey Salomón doscientos grandes escudos de oro batido, aplicando seiscientos siclos de oro batido en cada escudo,
16 also three hundred smal shields of beaten gold, three hundred shekels of gold going into one shield;and the king put these into the House of the Forest of Lebanon.	16 y trescientos escudos pequeños de oro batido, aplicando trescientos siclos de oro en cada escudo; el rey los colocó en la casa «Bosque del Líbano».
17 The king also made a great ivory throne which he overlaid with refined gold.	17 Hizo el rey un gran trono de marfil y lo revistió de oro puro.
18 The throne had six steps with a golden foot-rest attached to the throne, and arms on each side of theseat and two lions standing beside the arms,	18 El trono tenía seis gradas y un cordero de oro al respaldo, y brazos a uno y otro lado del asiento, y dos leones, de pie, junto a los brazos.
19 and twelve lions stood on either side of the six steps. Nothing like it had ever been made in any otherkingdom.	19 Más doce leones de pie sobre las seis gradas a uno y otro lado. No se hizo cosa semejante en ningún reino.
20 Al King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and al the plate in the House of the Forest ofLebanon was of pure gold; silver was little thought of in Solomon's days,	20 Todas las copas de beber del rey Salomón eran de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa «Bosque del Líbano» era de oro fino. La plata no se estimaba en nada en tiempo del rey Salomón.
21 since the king's ships went to Tarshish with Huram's employees, and once every three years themerchantmen would come back laden with gold and silver, ivory, apes and baboons.	21 Porque el rey tenía naves que navegaban a Tarsis con los siervos de Juram, y cada tres años venía la flota de Tarsis trayendo oro y plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.
22 For riches and for wisdom, King Solomon surpassed al kings on earth,	22 Así el rey Salomón sobrepujó a todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y sabiduría.
23 and al the kings in the world consulted Solomon to hear the wisdom which God had implanted in hisheart,	23 Todos los reyes de la tierra querían ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su corazón.
24 and everyone would bring a present with him: objects of silver and of gold, robes, armour, spices,horses and mules; and this went on year after year.	24 Y cada uno de ellos traía su presente, objetos de plata y objetos de oro, vestidos, armas, aromas, caballos y mulos, año tras año.
25 Solomon also had four thousand stal s for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand cavalrymen;these he stationed in the chariot towns and near the king in Jerusalem.	25 Tenía Salomón 4.000 caballerizas para sus caballos y carros, y 12.000 caballos, que puso en cuarteles en las ciudades de los carros y en Jerusalén junto al rey.
26 He was overlord of all the kings from the River to the territory of the Philistines and the Egyptianborder.	26 Dominaba sobre todos los reyes desde el Río hasta el país de los filisteos y hasta la frontera de Egipto.
27 In Jerusalem the king made silver as common as stones, and cedar wood as plentiful as sycamore inthe Lowlands.	27 Hizo el rey que la plata fuese tan abundante en Jerusalén como las piedras, y los cedros como los sicómoros de la Tierra Baja.
28 Horses were imported for Solomon from Muzur and all the other countries too.	28 Traían también caballos para Salomón de Musur y de todos los países.
29 The rest of the history of Solomon, from first to last, is this not all written down in the records ofNathan the prophet, in the Prophecy of Ahijah of Shiloh, and in the Vision of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboamson of Nebat?	29 El resto de los hechos de Salomón, los primeros y los postreros, ¿no están escritos en la historia del profeta Natán, en la profecía de Ajías el silonita, y en las visiones de Yedó el vidente, sobre Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat?
30 Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years.	30 Salomón reinó en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.
31 When Solomon fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in the City of his father David; Rehoboamhis son succeeded him.	31 Se acostó Salomón con sus padres, y le sepultaron en la ciudad de su padre David. En su lugar reinó su hijo Roboam.
