2 Chronicles 30

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Hezekiah sent messengers to al Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh,bidding them come to the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in honour of Yahweh, Godof Israel.	1 Poi Ezechia mandò per tutto Israele e Giuda, e scrisse lettere a Efraim e a Manasse, affinchè venissero alla casa del Signore in Gerusalemme, per celebrare la Pasqua al Signore Dio d'Israele.
2 For the king and his officials and the whole congregation in Jerusalem had agreed to celebrate thePassover in the second month,	2 Dopo aver tenuto un consiglio, il re, i principi e tutta l'assemblea di Gerusalemme determinarono di far la Pasqua nel secondo mese,
3 having been unable to celebrate it at the proper time, since the priests had not purified themselves insufficient number, and the people were not assembled in Jerusalem.	3 non avendo potuto farla a suo tempo, perchè i sacerdoti non s'eran santificati in numero sufficiente e il popolo non s'era ancora radunato a Gerusalemme.
4 And since this arrangement seemed fitting to the king and the whole congregation,	4 Siccome la cosa piacque al re e alla moltitudine,
5 they resolved to send a proclamation throughout Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, cal ing on the peopleto come to Jerusalem and celebrate a Passover in honour of Yahweh, God of Israel, since they had notcelebrated it in a body as prescribed.	5 decisero di spedir nunzi per tutto Israele, da Bersabee fino a Dan, per farli venire a far la Pasqua al Signore Dio d'Israele in Gerusalemme, chè molti non l'avevan fatta come è prescritto dalla legge.
6 So, by order of the king, courtiers set out with letters from the king and his officials for every part ofIsrael and Judah, saying, 'Israelites, return to Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, and he wil return tothose of you who are left and have escaped the grasp of the kings of Assyria.	6 I corrieri, per ordine del re e dei suoi principi, andaron con lettere in tutto Israele e Giuda, a pubblicare quel­lo che il re aveva comandato: « Figli d'Israele, tornate al Si­gnore Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e d'Israele, ond'egli torni al residuo scampato dalla mano del re d'Assiria.
7 Do not be like your fathers and brothers who were unfaithful to Yahweh, God of their ancestors; hebrought them to ruin, as you can see.	7 Non vogliate diventar come i vostri padri e i vostri fratelli, che si allontanarono dal Signore Dio dei loro padri, il quale, come vedete, li ha abbandonati alla rovina.
8 Do not be stubborn like your ancestors. Submit to Yahweh, come to his sanctuary which he hasconsecrated for ever, and serve Yahweh your God, so that his fierce anger may turn away from you.	8 Non indurate le vostre cervici, come i padri vostri, date la mano al Si­gnore, e venite al santuario che egli ha santificato in perpetuo; servite al Signore Dio dei padri vostri, e l'ira del suo furore si stornerà da voi.
9 For if you return to Yahweh, your brothers and your sons wil be treated mercifully by their captors andbe al owed to return to this country; for Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful and wil not turn his face awayfrom you, if you return to him.'	9 Anzi, se tornerete al Signore, i vostri fratelli e i vostri figli troveranno misericordia presso i loro padroni che li hanno condotti in schiavitù, e torneranno in questo paese: il Signore Dio vostro è pio e elemento e non volterà da voi la faccia, se a lui tornerete ».
10 The courtiers went from town to town through the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh and as far asZebulon but the people laughed and scoffed at them;	10 I corrieri intanto andavano velocemente di città in città, nella terra di Efraim e di Manasse fino a Zabulon; ma questi li deridevano e schernivano.
11 even so, some people from Asher and Manasseh and Zebulon were humble enough to come toJerusalem,	11 Tuttavia alcuni uomini di Aser, di Manasse e di Zàbulon, accettando il consiglio, andarono in Gerusalemme.
12 while in Judah the hand of God was also at work inspiring a unanimous desire to obey the order ofthe king and the officials in accordance with the word of Yahweh.	12 Ma in Giuda la mano del Signore fece in modo di dar loro un sol cuore per fare secondo il comando del re e dei principi ciò che aveva ordinato il Signore.
13 A huge crowd assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Unleavened Bread in the secondmonth. An immense crowd	13 Così gran popolo s'adunò in Gerusalemme per celebrare la solennità degli azzimi nel secondo mese.
14 set to work removing the altars then in Jerusalem; they also removed al the incense altars and threwthem into the Kidron Val ey.	14 Si misero a distruggere gli altari che erano in Gerusalemme, e, fatto in pezzi tutte le cose nelle quali si bruciava incenso agl'idoli, le gettarono nel torrente Cedron.
15 They then slaughtered the Passover victims on the fourteenth day of the second month. Ashamed ofthemselves, the priests and Levites had in the meanwhile sanctified themselves and brought burnt offerings tothe Temple of Yahweh,	15 Immolarono la Pasqua ai quattordici del secondo mese, e i sacerdoti e i leviti, che si eran finalmente santificati, offrirono olocausti nella casa del Signore.
16 so they now stood in their positions prescribed in the Law of Moses man of God, the priestssprinkling the blood handed to them by the Levites.	16 Stettero ciascuno nel suo ordine, secondo le disposizioni e la legge di Mosè uomo di Dio: i sacerdoti ricevevan dalle mani dei leviti il sangue da spandere.
17 Since many people in the congregation had not sanctified themselves, the Levites took care of theslaughter of the Passover victims to consecrate them to Yahweh for al who were not clean.	17 Siccome una folla numerosa non si era santificata, i leviti immolavano la Pasqua per quelli che non si erano affrettati a santificarsi al Signore.
18 For a great many people, especial y from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulon, had notpurified themselves, since they did not eat the Passover as prescribed. But Hezekiah prayed for them as fol ows,'May Yahweh in his goodness pardon	18 Anche gran parte del popolo di Efraim, di Manasse, d'Issacar e di Zàbulon, che non si era santificata, mangiò la Pasqua senza conformarsi a ciò che sta scritto. Ed Ezechia pregò per loro, dicendo: « Il Signore, che è buono, si mostrerà propizio
19 everyone whose heart is set on seeking God, Yahweh, God of his ancestors, even if he has not beenpurified as holy things demand.'	19 a tutti quelli che con tutto il cuore cercano il Signore Dio dei loro padri, e non imputerà loro il non essersi pienamente santificati ».
20 Yahweh listened to Hezekiah and left the people unharmed.	20 Il Signore lo esaudì e si mostrò propizio al popolo.
21 Amid great rejoicing, the Israelites present in Jerusalem celebrated the feast of Unleavened Breadfor seven days, while day after day the Levites and the priests praised Yahweh with al their might.	21 I figli d'Israele che si trovavano in Gerusalemme celebrarono la solennità degli azzimi per sette giorni con grande allegrezza, lodando ogni dì il Signore, come facevano pure i leviti e i sacerdoti cogli strumenti del loro ufficio.
22 Hezekiah then encouraged al the Levites who had such understanding of Yahweh. Having finishedthe seven-day festival, during which they sacrificed communion sacrifices and praised Yahweh, God of theirancestors,	22 Ezechia parlò al cuore di tutti i leviti che s'intendevano bene delle cose del Signore, ed essi mangiarono nei sette giorni della settimana, immolando vittime pacifiche, e lodando il Si­gnore Dio dei loro padri.
23 the whole congregation decided to celebrate for a further seven days. So they joyful y celebrated foranother seven days,	23 Piacque a tutta la moltitudine di celebrar la festa per altri sette giorni, come infatti fecero con gran gioia,
24 Hezekiah king of Judah contributing a thousand bul s and seven thousand sheep for thecongregation, and the officials another thousand bul s and ten thousand sheep. And a large number of priestssanctified themselves.	24 perchè Ezechia re di Giuda aveva dato alla moltitudine mille tori e sette mila pecore, e i principi avevan dato al popolo mille tori e dieci mila pecore, e un gran numero di sacerdoti si era santificato.
25 The whole congregation of Judah, the priests, the Levites, the whole congregation coming fromIsrael and the foreigners coming from the territory of Israel as wel as those resident in Judah, rejoiced.	25 Tutta la gente di Giuda, e i sacerdoti, e i leviti, e tutta la mol­titudine venuta da Israele, e i proseliti del paese d'Israele e quelli stabiliti in Giuda, eran pieni di gioia.
26 There was great rejoicing in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel,nothing comparable had ever occurred in Jerusalem.	26 Così fu fatta una gran festa in Gerusalemme, qua­le non era mai stata in quella città dal tempo di Salomone figlio di David re d'Israele.
27 The levitical priests then stood up and blessed the people and their voice was heard, and their prayerreached his holy dwelling in heaven.	27 I sacerdoti e i leviti si alzarono a benedire il popolo, e la loro voce fu esaudita, la loro preghiera giunse alla santa dimora del cielo.
