2 Chronicles 30

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Hezekiah sent messengers to al Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh,bidding them come to the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in honour of Yahweh, Godof Israel.	1 Ezequías envió mensajeros a todo Israel y Judá, y escribió también cartas a Efraím y Manasés, para que viniesen a la Casa de Yahveh, en Jerusalén, a fin de celebrar la Pascua en honor de Yahveh, el Dios de Israel.
2 For the king and his officials and the whole congregation in Jerusalem had agreed to celebrate thePassover in the second month,	2 Pues el rey y sus jefes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén habían determinado celebrar la Pascua en el mes segundo,
3 having been unable to celebrate it at the proper time, since the priests had not purified themselves insufficient number, and the people were not assembled in Jerusalem.	3 ya que no fue posible celebrarla a su debido tiempo, porque los sacerdotes no se habían santificado en número suficienté y el pueblo no se había reunido en Jerusalén.
4 And since this arrangement seemed fitting to the king and the whole congregation,	4 Pareció bien esto a los ojos del rey y de toda la asamblea.
5 they resolved to send a proclamation throughout Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, cal ing on the peopleto come to Jerusalem and celebrate a Passover in honour of Yahweh, God of Israel, since they had notcelebrated it in a body as prescribed.	5 Y decidieron enviar aviso a todo Israel, desde Berseba hasta Dan, para que vinieran a Jerusalén a celebrar la Pascua en que eran muchos los que no la habían celebrado según lo escrito.
6 So, by order of the king, courtiers set out with letters from the king and his officials for every part ofIsrael and Judah, saying, 'Israelites, return to Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, and he wil return tothose of you who are left and have escaped the grasp of the kings of Assyria.	6 Los correos, con las cartas del rey y de sus jefes, recorrieron todo Israel y Judá, como el rey lo había mandado y decían: «Hijos de Israel, volveos a Yahveh, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, y él se volverá al resto que ha quedado de vosotros, los que han escapado de la mano de los reyes de Asiria.
7 Do not be like your fathers and brothers who were unfaithful to Yahweh, God of their ancestors; hebrought them to ruin, as you can see.	7 No seáis como vuestros padres y vuestros hermanos, que fueron infieles a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres; por lo cual él los entregó a la desolación, como estáis viendo.
8 Do not be stubborn like your ancestors. Submit to Yahweh, come to his sanctuary which he hasconsecrated for ever, and serve Yahweh your God, so that his fierce anger may turn away from you.	8 Ahora, no endurezcáis vuestra cerviz como vuestros padres; dad la mano a Yahveh, venid a su santuario, que él ha santificado para siempre; servid a Yahveh, vuestro Dios, y se apartará de vosotros el furor de su ira.
9 For if you return to Yahweh, your brothers and your sons wil be treated mercifully by their captors andbe al owed to return to this country; for Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful and wil not turn his face awayfrom you, if you return to him.'	9 Porque si os volvéis a Yahveh, vuestros hermanos y vuestros hijos hallarán misericordia ante aquellos que los llevaron cautivos, y volverán a esta tierra, pues Yahveh vuestro Dios es clemente y misericordioso, y no apartará de vosotros su rostro, si vosotros os convertís a él».
10 The courtiers went from town to town through the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh and as far asZebulon but the people laughed and scoffed at them;	10 Los correos pasaron de ciudad en ciudad por el país de Efraím y de Manasés, llegaron hasta Zabulón; pero se reían y se burlaban de ellos.
11 even so, some people from Asher and Manasseh and Zebulon were humble enough to come toJerusalem,	11 Sin embargo, hubo hombres de Aser, de Manasés y de Zabulón que se humillaron y vinieron a Jerusalén.
12 while in Judah the hand of God was also at work inspiring a unanimous desire to obey the order ofthe king and the officials in accordance with the word of Yahweh.	12 También en Judá se dejó sentir la mano de Dios, que les dio corazón unánime para cumplir el mandamiento del rey y de los jefes, según la palabra de Yahveh.
13 A huge crowd assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Unleavened Bread in the secondmonth. An immense crowd	13 Se reunió en Jerusalén mucha gente para celebrar la fiesta de los Azimos en el mes segundo; era una asamblea muy grande.
14 set to work removing the altars then in Jerusalem; they also removed al the incense altars and threwthem into the Kidron Val ey.	14 Y se levantaron y quitaron los altares que había en Jerusalén; quitaron también todos los altares de incienso y los arrojaron al torrente Cedrón.
15 They then slaughtered the Passover victims on the fourteenth day of the second month. Ashamed ofthemselves, the priests and Levites had in the meanwhile sanctified themselves and brought burnt offerings tothe Temple of Yahweh,	15 Inmolaron la Pascua el día catorce del mes segundo. También los sacerdotes y los levitas, llenos de confusión, se santificaron y trajeron holocaustos a la Casa de Yahveh.
16 so they now stood in their positions prescribed in the Law of Moses man of God, the priestssprinkling the blood handed to them by the Levites.	16 Ocuparon sus puestos según su reglamento, conforme a la Ley de Moisés, hombre de Dios; y los sacerdotes rociaban con la sangre que recibían de mano de los levitas.
17 Since many people in the congregation had not sanctified themselves, the Levites took care of theslaughter of the Passover victims to consecrate them to Yahweh for al who were not clean.	17 Y como muchos de la asamblea no se habían santificado, los levitas fueron encargados de inmolar los corderos pascuales para todos los que no se hallaban puros, a fin de santificarlos para Yahveh.
18 For a great many people, especial y from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulon, had notpurified themselves, since they did not eat the Passover as prescribed. But Hezekiah prayed for them as fol ows,'May Yahweh in his goodness pardon	18 Pues una gran parte del pueblo, muchos de Efraím, de Manasés, de Isacar y de Zabulón, no se habían purificado, y con todo comieron la Pascua sin observar lo escrito. Pero Ezequías oró por ellos diciendo: «¡Que Yahveh, que es bueno, perdone a todos aquellos
19 everyone whose heart is set on seeking God, Yahweh, God of his ancestors, even if he has not beenpurified as holy things demand.'	19 cuyo corazón está dispuesto a buscar al Dios Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres, aunque no tengan la pureza requerida para las cosas sagradas!»
20 Yahweh listened to Hezekiah and left the people unharmed.	20 Y oyó Yahveh a Ezequías y dejó salvo al pueblo.
21 Amid great rejoicing, the Israelites present in Jerusalem celebrated the feast of Unleavened Breadfor seven days, while day after day the Levites and the priests praised Yahweh with al their might.	21 Los israelitas que estaban en Jerusalén celebraron la fiesta de los Azimos por siete días con gran alegría; mientras los levitas y los sacerdotes alababan a Yahveh todos los días con todas sus fuerzas.
22 Hezekiah then encouraged al the Levites who had such understanding of Yahweh. Having finishedthe seven-day festival, during which they sacrificed communion sacrifices and praised Yahweh, God of theirancestors,	22 Ezequías habló al corazón de todos los levitas que tenían perfecto conocimiento de Yahveh. Comieron durante los siete días las víctimas de la solemnidad, sacrificando sacrificos de comunión y alabando a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres.
23 the whole congregation decided to celebrate for a further seven days. So they joyful y celebrated foranother seven days,	23 Toda la asamblea resolvió celebrar la solemnidad por otros siete días, y la celebraron con júbilo siete días más.
24 Hezekiah king of Judah contributing a thousand bul s and seven thousand sheep for thecongregation, and the officials another thousand bul s and ten thousand sheep. And a large number of priestssanctified themselves.	24 Porque Ezequías, rey de Judá, había reservado para toda la asamblea mil novillos y 7.000 ovejas. Los jefes, por su parte, habían reservado para la asamblea mil novillos y 10.000 ovejas, pues ya se habían santificado muchos sacerdotes.
25 The whole congregation of Judah, the priests, the Levites, the whole congregation coming fromIsrael and the foreigners coming from the territory of Israel as wel as those resident in Judah, rejoiced.	25 Toda la asamblea de Judá, los sacerdotes y los levitas y también toda la asamblea que había venido de Israel y los forasteros venidos de la tierra de Israel, lo mismo que los que habitaban en Judá, se llenaron de alegría.
26 There was great rejoicing in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel,nothing comparable had ever occurred in Jerusalem.	26 Hubo gran gozo en Jerusalén; porque desde los días de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel, no se había hecho cosa semejante en Jerusalén.
27 The levitical priests then stood up and blessed the people and their voice was heard, and their prayerreached his holy dwelling in heaven.	27 Después se levantaron los sacerdotes y los levitas, y bendijeron al pueblo; y fue oída su voz, y su oración penetró en el cielo, su santa morada.
