1 Hezekiah sent messengers to al Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh,bidding them come to the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in honour of Yahweh, Godof Israel.	1 Quando ancora Ezechia per tutto Israele, e per tutto il paese di Giuda: e scrisse lettera a quelli di Ephraim, e a quelli di Manasse, invitandogli alla casa del Signore in Gerusalemme, per celebrare la Pasqua al Signore Dio d'Israele.
2 For the king and his officials and the whole congregation in Jerusalem had agreed to celebrate thePassover in the second month,	2 Conciossiachè, tenuto consiglio il re, e i magnati, e tutta la sinagoga di Gerusalemme, avean determinato di far la Pasqua il secondo mese.
3 having been unable to celebrate it at the proper time, since the priests had not purified themselves insufficient number, and the people were not assembled in Jerusalem.	3 Perocché non avean potuto farla a suo tempo, perchè non era ancora santificato un sufficiente numero di sacerdoti, e il popolo non aveva ancora potuto adunarsi in Gerusalemme.
4 And since this arrangement seemed fitting to the king and the whole congregation,	4 E questa risoluzione piacque al re, e a tutta la moltitudine.
5 they resolved to send a proclamation throughout Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, cal ing on the peopleto come to Jerusalem and celebrate a Passover in honour of Yahweh, God of Israel, since they had notcelebrated it in a body as prescribed.	5 E risolverono di spedir nunzj per tutto Israele, da Bersabee fino a Dan, affinchè venissero a far la Pasqua al Signore Dio d'Israele in Gerusalemme: perocchè molti non l'aveano fatta, com'è prescritto dalla legge.
6 So, by order of the king, courtiers set out with letters from the king and his officials for every part ofIsrael and Judah, saying, 'Israelites, return to Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, and he wil return tothose of you who are left and have escaped the grasp of the kings of Assyria.	6 E partirono le staffette per ordine del re, e de' suoi grandi con lettere a tutto Israele, e a Giuda; nelle quali, secondo l'ordine del re, si diceva: Figliuoli d'Israele, tornate al Signore Dio d'Abramo, d'Isacco, e d'Israele: ed ei tornerà alle reliquie scampate dalle mani del re Assiro.
7 Do not be like your fathers and brothers who were unfaithful to Yahweh, God of their ancestors; hebrought them to ruin, as you can see.	7 Non imitate i padri vostri, e i fratelli, i quali si allontanarono dal Signore Dio de' padri loro, il quale gli ha mandati in perdizione, come voi vedete.
8 Do not be stubborn like your ancestors. Submit to Yahweh, come to his sanctuary which he hasconsecrated for ever, and serve Yahweh your God, so that his fierce anger may turn away from you.	8 Non indurate le vostre cervici, come i padri vostri: ubbidite al Signore, e venite al suo Santuario santificato da lui in perpetuo: servite il Signore Dio de' padri vostri, e l'ira, e il furore di lui più non vi premerà.
9 For if you return to Yahweh, your brothers and your sons wil be treated mercifully by their captors andbe al owed to return to this country; for Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful and wil not turn his face awayfrom you, if you return to him.'	9 Perocché se voi tornerete al Signore, i vostri fratelli, e i figliuoli troveranno misericordia nei loro padroni, che gli hanno condotti schiavi, ed ei torneranno in questo paese: conciossiachè pio, e clemente egli è il Signore Dio vostro, e vi vedrà di buon occhio, se a lui tornerete.
10 The courtiers went from town to town through the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh and as far asZebulon but the people laughed and scoffed at them;	10 Andavan pertanto velocemente le staffette di città in città nel paese di Ephraim, e di Manasse, e fino a Zàbulon, facendone quelli delle risate, e delle beffe.
11 even so, some people from Asher and Manasseh and Zebulon were humble enough to come toJerusalem,	11 Con tutto ciò alcuni di quelli di Aser, e di Manasse, e di Zàbulon, abbracciando gli avvertimenti, vennero a Gerusalemme.
12 while in Judah the hand of God was also at work inspiring a unanimous desire to obey the order ofthe king and the officials in accordance with the word of Yahweh.	12 Ma quanto a Giuda, la mano del Signore operò in essi, dando loro un sol cuore per ubbidire alla intimazione del re, e dei principi, e alla parola del Signore.
13 A huge crowd assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Unleavened Bread in the secondmonth. An immense crowd	13 E si adunarono molti popoli in Gerusalemme, per celebrare la solennità degli azzimi, il secondo mese.
14 set to work removing the altars then in Jerusalem; they also removed al the incense altars and threwthem into the Kidron Val ey.	14 E corsero a distruggere gli altari, che erano in Gerusalemme; e tutti i luoghi dove si bruciava incenso agl'idoli, li rovinarono, e gettaron (questi) nel torrente Cedron.
15 They then slaughtered the Passover victims on the fourteenth day of the second month. Ashamed ofthemselves, the priests and Levites had in the meanwhile sanctified themselves and brought burnt offerings tothe Temple of Yahweh,	15 E immolaron la Pasqua ai quattordici del secondo mese. È i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, i quali finalmente si erano santificati, offersero olocausti nella casa del Signore.
16 so they now stood in their positions prescribed in the Law of Moses man of God, the priestssprinkling the blood handed to them by the Levites.	16 E facevano le loro funzioni, se condo quel, che dispone la legge di Mosè uomo di Dio: e i sacerdoti ricevevano dalle mani de' Leviti il sangue da spandere.
17 Since many people in the congregation had not sanctified themselves, the Levites took care of theslaughter of the Passover victims to consecrate them to Yahweh for al who were not clean.	17 Perchè una gran moltitudine non erano santificati: e perciò i Leviti immolavan la Pasqua per quelli, che non eran venuti a tempo per santamente immolarla al Signore.
18 For a great many people, especial y from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulon, had notpurified themselves, since they did not eat the Passover as prescribed. But Hezekiah prayed for them as fol ows,'May Yahweh in his goodness pardon	18 E anche una gran parte del popolo di Ephraim, e di Manasse, e d'Issachar, e di Zàbulon, i quali non si erano purificati, mangiaron la Pasqua, non secondo quello, che sta scritto. Ed Ezechia fece orazione per essi, e disse: Il Signore, che è buono, avrà misericordia
19 everyone whose heart is set on seeking God, Yahweh, God of his ancestors, even if he has not beenpurified as holy things demand.'	19 Di tutti quelli, i quali con tutto il cuore cercano il Signore Dio de' padri oro; e non imputerà ad essi il non essersi pienamente purificati.
20 Yahweh listened to Hezekiah and left the people unharmed.	20 E il Signore lo esaudì, e si placò col popolo.
21 Amid great rejoicing, the Israelites present in Jerusalem celebrated the feast of Unleavened Breadfor seven days, while day after day the Levites and the priests praised Yahweh with al their might.	21 E i figliuoli d'Israele, che si trovarono a Gerusalemme, celebrarono la solennità degli azzimi per sette giorni con grande allegrezza, laudando ogni di il Signore: e così anche i Leviti, e i sacerdoti cogli strumenti convenienti al grado loro.
22 Hezekiah then encouraged al the Levites who had such understanding of Yahweh. Having finishedthe seven-day festival, during which they sacrificed communion sacrifices and praised Yahweh, God of theirancestors,	22 Ed Ezechia parlò benignamente a tutti i Leviti, i quali aveano molta cognizione delle cose del Signore: e mangiarono nei sette giorni della solennità le vittime pacifiche, che si offerìvano, lodando il Signore Dio de' padri loro.
23 the whole congregation decided to celebrate for a further seven days. So they joyful y celebrated foranother seven days,	23 E tutta la moltitudine si accordò a celebrare altri sette giorni, come fecero con gran letizia.
24 Hezekiah king of Judah contributing a thousand bul s and seven thousand sheep for thecongregation, and the officials another thousand bul s and ten thousand sheep. And a large number of priestssanctified themselves.	24 Imperocché Ezechia re di Giuda avea dato alla moltitudine mille tori, e sette mila pecore: e i principi della città avean dato al popolo mille tori, e dieci mila pecore; onde un gran numero di sacerdoti si consagrò.
25 The whole congregation of Judah, the priests, the Levites, the whole congregation coming fromIsrael and the foreigners coming from the territory of Israel as wel as those resident in Judah, rejoiced.	25 E tutta la gente di Giuda, e tanto i sacerdoti, come i Leviti, e tutta la moltitudine, che era venuta da Israele; come anche i proseliti sì del paese d'Israele, come quelli, che dimoravano nelle terre di Giuda, erano inondati di allegrezza.
26 There was great rejoicing in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel,nothing comparable had ever occurred in Jerusalem.	26 E la solennità celebrata in Gerusalemme fu grande, e non vi era stata la simile in quella città dal tempo di Salomone figliuolo di David re d'Israele.
27 The levitical priests then stood up and blessed the people and their voice was heard, and their prayerreached his holy dwelling in heaven.	27 E si alzarono i sacerdoti, e i Le viti per benedire il popolo, e furono esaudite le loro voci: e la orazione penetrò all'abitazione santa del cielo.
