NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 At the turn of the year, at the time when kings go campaigning, Joab led out the troops and, havingravaged the Ammonites' territory, proceeded to lay siege to Rabbah. David, however, remained in Jerusalem.Joab reduced Rabbah and dismantled it.	1 وكان عند تمام السنة في وقت خروج الملوك اقتاد يوآب قوة الجيش واخرب ارض بني عمون واتى وحاصر ربّة. وكان داود مقيما في اورشليم. فضرب يوآب ربّة وهدمها.
2 David took the crown off Milcom's head and found that it weighed a talent of gold, and in it was set aprecious stone which went on David's head instead. He carried off great quantities of booty from the city.	2 واخذ داود تاج ملكهم عن راسه فوجد وزنه وزنة من الذهب وفيه حجر كريم فكان على راس داود. واخرج غنيمة المدينة وكانت كثيرة جدا.
3 And he expel ed its inhabitants, setting them to work with saws, iron picks and axes. David treated althe Ammonite towns in the same way. David and al the people then returned to Jerusalem.	3 واخرج الشعب الذين بها ونشرهم بمناشير ونوارج حديد وفؤوس. وهكذا صنع داود لكل مدن بني عمون ثم رجع داود وكل الشعب الى اورشليم
4 After this war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. This was when Sibbecai of Hushah kil ed Sippai, one of the Rephaim, and the Philistines were subdued.	4 ثم بعد ذلك قامت حرب في جازر مع الفلسطينيين. حينئذ سبكاي الحوشي قتل سفّاي من اولاد رافا فذلّوا.
5 Again, war with the Philistines broke out, and Elhanan son of Jair kil ed Lahmi brother of Goliath ofGath, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.	5 وكانت ايضا حرب مع الفلسطينيين فقتل الحانان بن ياعور لحمي اخا جليات الجتّي. وكانت قناة رمحه كنول النسّاجين.
6 There was further warfare at Gath, where there was a man of huge stature with six fingers on eachhand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in al . He too was a son of Rapha.	6 ثم كانت ايضا حرب في جتّ وكان رجل طويل القامة أعنش اصابعه اربع وعشرون وهو ايضا ولد لرافا.
7 When he defied Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, brother of David cut him down.	7 ولما عيّر اسرائيل ضربه يهوناثان بن شمعا اخي داود.
8 These men were sons of Rapha in Gath and fel at the hands of David and his guards.	8 هؤلاء ولدوا لرافا في جت وسقطوا بيد داود وبيد عبيده
