2 Kings 9

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The prophet Elisha summoned a member of the prophetic brotherhood to him, 'Hitch up your clothes,take this flask of oil, and go to Ramoth in Gilead.	1 Il profeta Eliseo chiamò uno dei discepoli dei profeti e gli disse: "Cingiti i fianchi, prendi con te quest'ampolla di olio e recati a Ramot di Gàlaad.
2 When you arrive there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Then, when you find him, telhim to get up and leave his companions, and take him into an inner room.	2 Giunto là, cerca di vedere Ieu, figlio di Giosafat, figlio di Nimsi; trovatolo, lo farai alzare di mezzo ai suoi colleghi e lo condurrai in una stanza isolata.
3 Take the flask of oil then and pour it over his head, and say, "Yahweh says this: I have anointed youking of Israel." Then open the door and flee as fast as you can.'	3 Poi prenderai l'ampolla dell'olio e la verserai sulla sua testa dicendogli: "Così parla il Signore: Io ti ungo re d'Israele". Aprirai quindi la porta e fuggirai senza indugio".
4 The young man left for Ramoth in Gilead	4 Allora il giovane si recò a Ramot di Gàlaad.
5 and when he arrived, found the senior officers of the army sitting together. 'I have a message for you,commander,' he said. 'For which of us?' asked Jehu. 'For you, commander,' he answered.	5 Quando vi giunse, i comandanti dell'esercito erano seduti a consiglio; egli disse: "Ho una parola per te, comandante!". Ieu domandò: "Per chi di noi?". Quegli rispose: "Per te, comandante!".
6 Jehu then got up and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying,'Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "I have anointed you king of Yahweh's people, of Israel.	6 Egli si levò ed entrò nella casa. Il giovane allora gli versò l'olio sul capo dicendogli: "Così parla il Signore, Dio d'Israele: "Ti ungo re del popolo del Signore d'Israele.
7 You wil strike down the family of Ahab your master, and I shal avenge the blood of my servants theprophets and al of Yahweh's servants, on Jezebel	7 Tu colpirai la casa di Acab, tuo signore; così vendicherò il sangue dei miei servi, i profeti, e quello di tutti i servi del Signore versato per opera di Gezabele.
8 and on the whole family of Ahab. I shal destroy every manjack of Ahab's family, fettered or free in Israel.	8 Tutta la casa di Acab perirà! Reciderò via da Acab ogni maschio, schiavo o libero in Israele.
9 I shal make the House of Ahab like the House of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah.	9 Tratterò la casa di Acab come quella di Geroboamo, figlio di Nebàt, e come quella di Baasa, figlio di Achia.
10 As for Jezebel, the dogs wil eat her in the field of Jezreel; no one wil bury her." ' With this, he openedthe door and made his escape.	10 Quanto a Gezabele, i cani la divoreranno nel campo di Izreèl; nessuno la seppellirà". Poi aprì la porta e fuggì.
11 Jehu came out to his master's officers. 'Is al wel ?' they asked him. 'Why did this madman come toyou?' 'You know the fel ow and how he talks,' he answered.	11 Ieu uscì e ritornò dai servi del suo signore che gli domandarono: "Va tutto bene? Perché quel pazzo è venuto da te?". Rispose ad essi: "Voi conoscete l'uomo e le sue chiacchiere".
12 'Evasion!' they cried, 'Come on, tell us.' He replied, 'He said this and that to me. He said, "Yahweh saysthis: I have anointed you king of Israel." '	12 Essi però replicarono: "E' falso! Raccontacelo tu!". Allora egli soggiunse: "Egli mi ha detto così e così, affermando: "Questo dice il Signore: Ti ho unto re d'Israele".
13 Whereupon they all took their cloaks and spread them under him on the bare steps; they sounded thetrumpet and shouted, 'Jehu is king!'	13 Quelli allora s'affrettarono a prendere ciascuno il proprio mantello, lo stesero sotto di lui, sopra i gradini, poi suonarono la tromba e proclamarono: "Ieu è re!".
14 Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi plotted against Jehoram. (At the time, Jehoram, with al Israel,was holding Ramoth in Gilead against an attack by Hazael king of Aram,	14 Ieu, figlio di Giosafat, figlio di Nimsi, ordì una congiura contro Ioram, il quale, assieme a tutto Israele, aveva difeso Ramot di Gàlaad contro Cazaèl, re di Aram.
15 but King Jehoram had gone back to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received fromthe Aramaeans while he was fighting against Hazael king of Aram.) 'If you agree,' Jehu said, 'let no one leavethe town to go and take the news to Jezreel.'	15 Il re Ioram era tornato a Izreèl per farsi curare le ferite che gli avevano inferto gli Aramei, mentre combatteva contro Cazaèl, re di Aram. Ieu disse: "Se siete d'accordo con me, nessuno esca dalla città per andare a portare la notizia in Izreèl".
16 Jehu then mounted his chariot and left for Jezreel; Jehoram had taken to his bed there, and Ahaziahking of Judah had gone down to visit him.	16 Ieu salì sul carro e si recò a Izreèl, perché Ioram lì giaceva sofferente e Acazia, re di Giuda, era disceso a fargli visita.
17 The lookout posted on the tower of Jezreel saw Jehu's troop approaching. 'I can see a body of men,'he shouted. Jehoram gave the order: 'Have a horseman sent to meet them and ask, "Is al wel ?" '	17 La sentinella che stava sulla torre di Izreèl, vedendo giungere la schiera di Ieu, disse: "Vedo una schiera". Ioram replicò: "Prendi un cavaliere, mandalo incontro ad essi e fagli domandare: "Va tutto bene?".
18 The horseman went to meet Jehu and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What has it to do with youwhether all is well?' Jehu replied. 'Fal in behind me.' The lookout reported, 'The messenger has reached themand is not coming back.'	18 Il cavaliere gli andò incontro e disse: "Il re domanda: "Va tutto bene?". Ieu rispose: "Che cosa t'importa se va tutto bene? Passa dietro di me!". La sentinella annunciò la cosa dicendo: "Il messaggero è giunto da essi, ma non è tornato".
19 The king sent a second horseman who reached them and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What hasit to do with you whether al is wel ?' Jehu replied. 'Fall in behind me.'	19 Il re inviò un altro cavaliere; giunto che fu da essi disse: "Il re domanda: "Va tutto bene?". Ieu rispose: "Che cosa t'importa se va tutto bene? Passa dietro di me!".
20 The lookout reported, 'He has reached them and is not coming back. The manner of driving is like thatof Jehu son of Nimshi: he drives like a madman.'	20 La sentinella annunciò la cosa dicendo: "E' giunto da essi, ma non è tornato. La maniera di guidare è quella di Ieu, figlio di Nimsi: guida infatti da pazzo!".
21 'Harness!' Jehoram cried; and they harnessed his chariot. Then Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziahking of Judah, each in his chariot, set out to meet Jehu. They reached him in the field of Naboth of Jezreel.	21 Allora Ioram ordinò: "Attaccate i cavalli!". Li attaccarono al suo carro e Ioram, re d'Israele, e Acazia, re di Giuda, uscirono ciascuno sul proprio carro per andare incontro a Ieu e lo trovarono nel campo di Nabòt di Izreèl.
22 As soon as Jehoram saw Jehu he asked, 'Is al wel , Jehu?' 'What a question!' he replied, 'when al thewhile the prostitutions and countless sorceries of your mother Jezebel go on.'	22 Non appena Ioram vide Ieu gli domandò: "Va tutto bene, Ieu?". Quegli rispose: "Che cos'è questo "va tutto bene?", fin quando durano le prostituzioni di tua madre Gezabele e i suoi numerosi sortilegi?".
23 At this, Jehoram wheeled and fled, saying to Ahaziah, 'Treason, Ahaziah!'	23 Allora Ioram voltò il carro e si diede alla fuga dopo aver detto ad Acazia: "Tradimento, Acazia!".
24 But Jehu had drawn his bow; he struck Jehoram between the shoulder-blades, the arrow went throughthe king's heart, and he sank down in his chariot.	24 Ma Ieu impugnò l'arco, colpì Ioram tra le spalle e la freccia trapassò il cuore del re che stramazzò sul carro.
25 'Pick him up,' Jehu said to Bidkar, his equerry, 'and throw him into the field of Naboth of Jezreel.Remember how, when you and I manned a chariot together behind Ahab his father, Yahweh pronounced thissentence against him,	25 Poi disse a Bidkar, suo scudiero: "Prendilo e gettalo in qualche parte del campo di Nabòt di Izreèl; mi ricordo infatti che, mentre tu e io cavalcavamo dietro suo padre Acab, il Signore pronunciò contro di lui questa sentenza:
26 "This I swear. Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons -- Yahweh says this. Andin this same field I shall requite you -- Yahweh says this." So pick him up, and throw him into the field, asYahweh declared should happen!'	26 "Lo giuro: ieri ho visto il sangue di Nabòt e dei suoi figli, oracolo del Signore. Ti ripagherò in questo stesso campo. Oracolo del Signore". Ora prendilo e gettalo nel campo secondo la parola del Signore".
27 When Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled along the Beth-ha-Gan road, but Jehu went in pursuit ofhim. 'Strike him down too,' he said. And they wounded him in his chariot at the slope of Gur, which is nearIbleam, and he took refuge in Megiddo, where he died.	27 Acazia, re di Giuda, vedendo ciò, fuggì per la strada di Bet-Gan; però Ieu lo inseguì e ordinò: "Colpite anche lui!". Lo colpirono sul carro lungo la salita di Gur, che è vicino ad Ibleam. Riuscì a rifugiarsi a Meghiddo, ma qui morì.
28 His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb in the City of David.	28 Allora i suoi servi lo trasportarono a Gerusalemme e lo seppellirono nel suo sepolcro assieme ai suoi antenati, nella Città di Davide.
29 Ahaziah had become king of Judah in the eleventh year of Jehoram son of Ahab.	29 Acazia era divenuto re di Giuda nell'anno undecimo di Ioram, figlio di Acab.
30 When Jehu went back to Jezreel, Jezebel was told. She made up her eyes with mascara, adorned herhead and appeared at the window.	30 Ieu si recò a Izreèl. Saputo che l'ebbe, Gezabele s'imbellettò gli occhi, si ornò la testa e s'affacciò alla finestra.
31 As Jehu came through the gateway she said, 'How did Zimri get on after kil ing his master?'	31 Mentre Ieu varcava la porta, ella disse: "Va tutto bene, o Zimri, assassino del suo signore?".
32 Jehu looked up to the window and said, 'Who is on my side? Who?' And two or three officials lookeddown at him.	32 Ieu alzò gli occhi verso la finestra e disse: "Chi è con me, chi?". Nel frattempo due o tre eunuchi si erano sporti fuori verso di lui.
33 'Throw her down,' he said. They threw her down and her blood spattered the wal s and the horses; andJehu rode over her.	33 Egli ordinò: "Gettatela giù!". Essi la gettarono. Il suo sangue spruzzò i muri e i cavalli e Ieu le passò sopra il corpo.
34 He went in and ate and drank, then said, 'See to this accursed woman, and give her burial; after al ,she was a king's daughter.'	34 Poi entrò, mangiò e bevve; infine ordinò: "Occupatevi di quella maledetta e datele sepoltura perché è figlia di re!".
35 But when they went to bury her, they found nothing but her skul , feet and hands.	35 Andarono per seppellirla ma di lei non trovarono che il cranio, i piedi e le palme delle mani.
36 They came back and told Jehu, who said, 'This is the word of Yahweh which he spoke through hisservant Elijah the Tishbite, "The dogs wil eat the flesh of Jezebel in the field of Jezreel;	36 Tornati, ne informarono Ieu che esclamò: "E' la parola che il Signore ha pronunciato per mezzo del suo servo Elia il tisbita: "Nel campo di Izreèl i cani divoreranno la carne di Gezabele;
37 the corpse of Jezebel wil be like dung spread on the fields, so that no one wil be able to say: This wasJezebel." '	37 il cadavere di Gezabele sarà come sterco sulla superficie della campagna, nel campo di Izreèl, cosicché non si potrà più dire: costei è Gezabele".
