2 Kings 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The prophet Elisha summoned a member of the prophetic brotherhood to him, 'Hitch up your clothes,take this flask of oil, and go to Ramoth in Gilead.	1 El profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de la comunidad de profetas y le dijo: «Ajústate el cinturón, toma contigo este frasco de aceite y ve a Ramot de Galaad.
2 When you arrive there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Then, when you find him, telhim to get up and leave his companions, and take him into an inner room.	2 Cuando llegues, busca allí a Jehú, hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsí. Luego entra, sácalo de en medio de sus camaradas y llévalo a la habitación más retirada.
3 Take the flask of oil then and pour it over his head, and say, "Yahweh says this: I have anointed youking of Israel." Then open the door and flee as fast as you can.'	3 Toma entonces el frasco de aceite, derrámalo sobre su cabeza y di: Así habla el Señor: Yo te he ungido rey de Israel. Después, abre la puerta y escapa sin detenerte».
4 The young man left for Ramoth in Gilead	4 El joven profeta partió en seguida para Ramot de Galaad.
5 and when he arrived, found the senior officers of the army sitting together. 'I have a message for you,commander,' he said. 'For which of us?' asked Jehu. 'For you, commander,' he answered.	5 Al llegar, encontró a los jefes del ejército que estaban reunidos, y dijo: «Tengo un mensaje para ti, jefe». «¿Para quién de nosotros?», preguntó Jehú. El respondió: «Para ti, jefe».
6 Jehu then got up and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying,'Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "I have anointed you king of Yahweh's people, of Israel.	6 Jehú se levantó y entró en la casa. Entonces el joven derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza y le dijo: «Así habla el Señor, el Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido rey del pueblo del Señor, de Israel.
7 You wil strike down the family of Ahab your master, and I shal avenge the blood of my servants theprophets and al of Yahweh's servants, on Jezebel	7 Tú acabarás con la familia de Ajab, tu señor, y yo vengaré la sangre de mis servidores los profetas y la sangre de todos los servidores del Señor derramada por la mano de Jezabel.
8 and on the whole family of Ahab. I shal destroy every manjack of Ahab's family, fettered or free in Israel.	8 Toda la casa de Ajab perecerá: extirparé de la dinastía de Ajab a todos los varones, sean esclavos o libres en Israel.
9 I shal make the House of Ahab like the House of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah.	9 Trataré a la casa de Ajab como a la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, y como a la casa de Basá, hijo de Ajías.
10 As for Jezebel, the dogs wil eat her in the field of Jezreel; no one wil bury her." ' With this, he openedthe door and made his escape.	10 En cuanto a Jezabel, los perros la devorarán en la parcela de Izreel, y nadie la sepultará». En seguida abrió la puerta y escapó.
11 Jehu came out to his master's officers. 'Is al wel ?' they asked him. 'Why did this madman come toyou?' 'You know the fel ow and how he talks,' he answered.	11 Cuando Jehú salió a reunirse con los oficiales de su señor, le preguntaron: «¿Hay alguna novedad? ¿Para qué vino a verte ese exaltado?». El les respondió: «Ustedes conocen a ese hombre y su centinela:.
12 'Evasion!' they cried, 'Come on, tell us.' He replied, 'He said this and that to me. He said, "Yahweh saysthis: I have anointed you king of Israel." '	12 Ellos dijeron: «No es cierto. Explícanos qué pasa». Entonces él les replicó: «Esto es todo lo que me dijo: Así habla el Señor: Yo te he ungido rey de Israel».
13 Whereupon they all took their cloaks and spread them under him on the bare steps; they sounded thetrumpet and shouted, 'Jehu is king!'	13 Inmediatamente, ellos tomaron cada uno su manto y los tendieron a sus pies, encima de las gradas. Luego tocaron la trompeta y gritaron: «¡Jehú es rey!».
14 Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi plotted against Jehoram. (At the time, Jehoram, with al Israel,was holding Ramoth in Gilead against an attack by Hazael king of Aram,	14 Jehú, hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsí, conspiró contra Joram. Este, con todo Israel, estaba defendiendo a Ramot, de Galaad contra Jazael, rey de Aram,
15 but King Jehoram had gone back to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received fromthe Aramaeans while he was fighting against Hazael king of Aram.) 'If you agree,' Jehu said, 'let no one leavethe town to go and take the news to Jezreel.'	15 pero tuvo que volver a Izreel para hacerse curar de las heridas que le habían infligido los arameos, mientras combatía contra Jazael, rey de Aram. Jehú dijo: «Si realmente están de acuerdo, que nadie escape de la ciudad para llevar la noticia a Izreel».
16 Jehu then mounted his chariot and left for Jezreel; Jehoram had taken to his bed there, and Ahaziahking of Judah had gone down to visit him.	16 Luego subió a su carro y partió para Izreel, porque allí guardaba cama Joram, y Ocozías, rey de Judá, había bajado a visitarlo.
17 The lookout posted on the tower of Jezreel saw Jehu's troop approaching. 'I can see a body of men,'he shouted. Jehoram gave the order: 'Have a horseman sent to meet them and ask, "Is al wel ?" '	17 El centinela que estaba apostado en la torre de Izreel, al ver venir la tropa, dijo: «Veo una tropa». Joram ordenó: «Toma un jinete y envíalo a preguntar si todo va bien».
18 The horseman went to meet Jehu and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What has it to do with youwhether all is well?' Jehu replied. 'Fal in behind me.' The lookout reported, 'The messenger has reached themand is not coming back.'	18 El jinete partió al encuentro de Jehú y dijo: «Así habla el rey: ¿Va todo bien?». Jehú replicó: «¿Qué te importa a ti si todo va bien? Colócate ahí detrás». El centinela, mientras tanto, avisó: «El mensajero los alcanzó, pero no regresa».
19 The king sent a second horseman who reached them and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What hasit to do with you whether al is wel ?' Jehu replied. 'Fall in behind me.'	19 El rey envió un segundo jinete, que los alcanzó y dijo: «Así habla el rey: ¿Va todo bien?». Jehú replicó: «¿Que te importa a ti si toda va bien? Colócate ahí detrás».
20 The lookout reported, 'He has reached them and is not coming back. The manner of driving is like thatof Jehu son of Nimshi: he drives like a madman.'	20 «El centinela volvió a avisar: «Los ha alcanzado, pero no regresa. Por el modo de conducir, parece Jehú, porque maneja como un loco».
21 'Harness!' Jehoram cried; and they harnessed his chariot. Then Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziahking of Judah, each in his chariot, set out to meet Jehu. They reached him in the field of Naboth of Jezreel.	21 Joram ordenó: «¡Enganchen mi carro!». Cuando lo engancharon, Joram, rey de Israel, y Ocozías, rey de Judá, salieron cada uno en su carro al encuentro de Jehú. Lo encontraron en la parcela de Nabot de Izreel,
22 As soon as Jehoram saw Jehu he asked, 'Is al wel , Jehu?' 'What a question!' he replied, 'when al thewhile the prostitutions and countless sorceries of your mother Jezebel go on.'	22 y apenas Joram vio a Jehú, dijo: «¿Te va bien, Jehú?». Este respondió: «¿Cómo me va a ir bien, mientras duren las prostituciones de tu madre Jezabel y sus innumerables brujerías?».
23 At this, Jehoram wheeled and fled, saying to Ahaziah, 'Treason, Ahaziah!'	23 Joram volvió las riendas y huyó, diciendo a Ocozías: «¡Traición, Ocozías!».
24 But Jehu had drawn his bow; he struck Jehoram between the shoulder-blades, the arrow went throughthe king's heart, and he sank down in his chariot.	24 Pero Jehú, que había tendido su arco, hirió a Joram en plena espalda; la flecha le atravesó el corazón, y él se desplomó en su carro.
25 'Pick him up,' Jehu said to Bidkar, his equerry, 'and throw him into the field of Naboth of Jezreel.Remember how, when you and I manned a chariot together behind Ahab his father, Yahweh pronounced thissentence against him,	25 Entonces Jehú dijo a Bidcar, su escudero: «Levántalo y arrójalo en la parcela del campo de Nabot el izreelita. Acuérdate que cuanto tú y yo cabalgábamos a la par, detrás de tu padre Ajab, el Señor pronunció contra él esta sentencia:
26 "This I swear. Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons -- Yahweh says this. Andin this same field I shall requite you -- Yahweh says this." So pick him up, and throw him into the field, asYahweh declared should happen!'	26 ¿No he visto ayer la sangre de Nabot y la sangre de sus hijos? –oráculo del Señor–. Yo te daré tu merecido en ese mismo campo –oráculo del Señor–. Ahora, levántalo y arrójalo en esta parcela, conforme a la palabra del Señor».
27 When Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled along the Beth-ha-Gan road, but Jehu went in pursuit ofhim. 'Strike him down too,' he said. And they wounded him in his chariot at the slope of Gur, which is nearIbleam, and he took refuge in Megiddo, where he died.	27 Al ver esto, Ocozías, rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de Bet Hagán. Jehú se lanzó en persecución de él, y ordenó: «¡Hiéranlo también a él!». Lo hirieron sobre su carro, en la cuesta de Gur, que está cerca de Ibleam, y él huyó a Meguido, donde murió.
28 His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb in the City of David.	28 Sus servidores lo trasladaron en un carro a Jerusalén, y lo sepultaron en su tumba, con sus padres, en la Ciudad de David.
29 Ahaziah had become king of Judah in the eleventh year of Jehoram son of Ahab.	29 Fue en el undécimo año de Joram, hijo de Ajab, cuando Ocozías había comenzado a reinar en Judá.
30 When Jehu went back to Jezreel, Jezebel was told. She made up her eyes with mascara, adorned herhead and appeared at the window.	30 Jehú llegó a Izreel. Cuando se enteró Jezabel, se pintó los ojos, se arregló el cabello y se asomó por la ventana.
31 As Jehu came through the gateway she said, 'How did Zimri get on after kil ing his master?'	31 En el momento en que Jehú franqueaba la puerta de la ciudad, ella le dijo: «¿Cómo te va, Zimrí, asesino de su señor?»
32 Jehu looked up to the window and said, 'Who is on my side? Who?' And two or three officials lookeddown at him.	32 Jehú alzó la cabeza hacia la ventana y exclamó: «¿Quién está conmigo? ¿Quién?». Dos o tres eunucos se inclinaron hacia él,
33 'Throw her down,' he said. They threw her down and her blood spattered the wal s and the horses; andJehu rode over her.	33 y él les dijo: «¡Tírenla abajo!». Ellos la tiraron abajo, y su sangre salpicó la pared y a los caballos, que la pisotearon.
34 He went in and ate and drank, then said, 'See to this accursed woman, and give her burial; after al ,she was a king's daughter.'	34 Jehú entró, comió y bebió, y luego dijo: «Encárguense de esta maldita y sepúltenla, porque al fin de cuentas es hija del rey».
35 But when they went to bury her, they found nothing but her skul , feet and hands.	35 Pero cuando fueron a sepultarla, no encontraron más que el cráneo, los pies y las manos.
36 They came back and told Jehu, who said, 'This is the word of Yahweh which he spoke through hisservant Elijah the Tishbite, "The dogs wil eat the flesh of Jezebel in the field of Jezreel;	36 Volvieron a comunicárselo a Jehú, y él dijo: «Así se cumple la palabra que el Señor pronunció por medio de Elías, el tisbita. En la parcela de Izreel;
37 the corpse of Jezebel wil be like dung spread on the fields, so that no one wil be able to say: This wasJezebel." '	37 y el cadáver de Jezabel será como estiércol sobre los campos, de manera que no se podrá decir: Es Jezabel».
