2 Kings 7

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 'Listen to the word of Yahweh,' Elisha said. 'Yahweh says this, "By this time tomorrow a measure offinest flour wil sel for one shekel, and two measures of barley for one shekel, at the gate of Samaria." '	1 Azt mondta erre Elizeus: »Halljátok az Úr szavát: Ezt üzeni az Úr: Holnap ilyenkor egy mérő lisztláng egy sékel s két mérő árpa egy sékel lesz Szamaria kapujában.«
2 The equerry on whose arm the king was leaning retorted to Elisha, 'Even if Yahweh made windows inthe sky, could this word come true?' 'You wil see it with your own eyes,' Elisha replied, 'though you will eat noneof it.'	2 Erre azt felelte az Isten emberének az egyik főtiszt, az, akinek a kezére a király támaszkodott: »Még ha az Úr zsilipeket csinálna is az égre, bekövetkezhetnék-e az, amit beszélsz?« Erre ő azt mondta: »Saját szemeddel fogod látni, de nem eszel belőle.«
3 Now at the entrance to the gate -- for they were afflicted with virulent skin-disease -- there were four men and they debated among themselves, 'Why sit here waiting for death?	3 Volt mármost a kapu bejárata előtt négy poklos férfi. Ezek azt mondták egymásnak: »Mit maradjunk itt, amíg meg nem halunk?
4 If we decide to go into the city, what with the famine in it, we shal die there; if we stay where we are, weshall die just the same. Come on, let us go over to the Aramaean camp; if they spare our lives, we live; if they kilus, wel , then we die.'	4 Ha bemegyünk a városba, akkor is éhen halunk, ha itt maradunk, akkor is meg kell halnunk. Gyertek tehát, szökjünk át Szíria táborába: ha megkegyelmeznek nekünk, életben maradunk, ha pedig meg akarnak ölni, hát akkor meghalunk.«
5 So at dusk they set out and made for the Aramaean camp, but when they reached the confines of thecamp there was not a soul there.	5 Estefelé fel is kerekedtek, hogy Szíria táborába menjenek. Amikor azonban Szíria táborának széléhez jutottak, nem találtak ott senkit sem.
6 For Yahweh had caused the Aramaeans in their camp to hear a noise of chariots and horses, the noiseof a great army; and they had said to one another, 'Listen! The king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptiankings against us, to attack us.'	6 Az Úr ugyanis harci szekereknek, lovaknak s nagy hadseregnek lármáját hallatta a szíriaiak táborában, mire azok azt mondták egymásnak: »Íme, Izrael királya felbérelte ellenünk a hetiták s az egyiptomiak királyait s azok jönnek ránk.«
7 So in the dusk they had made off and fled, abandoning their tents, their horses and their donkeys;leaving the camp just as it was, they had fled for their lives.	7 Erre felkerekedtek s a szürkületben elfutottak s ott hagyták sátraikat, lovaikat, szamaraikat a táborban, s megfutamodva csak arra törekedtek, hogy életüket megmentsék.
8 The men with skin-disease, then, reached the confines of the camp. They went into one of the tents andate and drank, and from it carried off silver and gold and clothing; these they took and hid. Then they came backand, entering another tent, looted it too, and took and hid their booty.	8 Így tehát, amikor azok a poklosok a tábor széléhez jutottak, bementek az egyik sátorba, ettek és ittak, majd kivittek onnan ezüstöt, aranyat, ruhát és elmentek s elrejtették; aztán visszatértek egy másik sátorba s onnan szintén elhordták ezeket és elrejtették.
9 Then they said to one another, 'We are doing wrong. This is a day of good news, yet we are holding ourtongues! If we wait til morning, we shal certainly be punished. Come on, let us go and take the news to thepalace.'	9 Majd azt mondták egymásnak: »Nem cselekszünk helyesen! Ez a nap ugyanis jó hír napja. Ha hallgatunk s reggelig hírül nem visszük, bűnnel fognak vádolni minket. Gyertek, menjünk s jelentsük a király udvarában.«
10 Off they went and shouted out to the guards on the city gate, 'We have been to the Aramaean camp.There was not a soul there, no sound of anyone, only tethered horses and tethered donkeys, and their tents justas they were.'	10 Amikor aztán eljutottak a város kapujához, elbeszélték a kapuőröknek: »Elmentünk Szíria táborába s nem találtunk ott egyetlen embert sem, csak kikötött lovakat és szamarakat s felütött sátrakat.«
11 The gatekeepers shouted the news, which was reported inside the palace.	11 Elmentek erre a kapuőrök s jelentették benn a király palotájában.
12 The king got up while it was still dark and said to his officers, 'I can tel you what the Aramaeans havedone to us. They know we are starving, so they have left the camp to hide in the open country. "They wil comeout of the city," they think, "we shall catch them alive and get into the city." '	12 Ő még éjjel felkelt, és azt mondta szolgáinak: »Megmondom nektek, mit akarnak velünk a szírek: tudják, hogy éhséget szenvedünk s azért kivonultak a táborból s elrejtőztek a mezőn, s ezt mondták: ‘Ha kijönnek a városból, megfogjuk őket elevenen s akkor bemehetünk a városba.’«
13 One of his officers replied, 'Five of the surviving horses stil left us had better be taken -- they would diein any case like al the rest. Let us send them and see.'	13 Egyik szolgája erre azt felelte: »Vegyük azt az öt lovat, amely még megmaradt a városban (ennyi van csak ugyanis Izrael egész sokaságánál, mert a többi elfogyott) s küldjünk ki s akkor kipuhatolhatjuk a dolgot.«
14 So they took two chariot teams and the king sent them after the Aramaean army, saying, 'Go and see.'	14 Elő is hoztak két fogatot s a király kiküldött a szírek táborába, s ezt mondta: »Menjetek s nézzétek meg.«
15 They fol owed them as far as the Jordan, finding the whole way strewn with clothes and gear which theAramaeans had thrown away in their panic. The scouts returned and informed the king.	15 Erre ők utánuk nyomultak egészen a Jordánig s íme, az egész út tele volt azokkal a ruhákkal és holmikkal, amelyeket a szírek ijedtükben eldobáltak. Amikor aztán a követek visszatértek, jelentették ezt a királynak.
16 Then the people went out and plundered the Aramaean camp: a measure of finest flour sold for oneshekel, and two measures of barley for one shekel, as Yahweh had promised they would.	16 Erre a nép kivonult s kifosztotta a szír tábort s egy mérő lisztláng egy sékel s két mérő árpa egy sékel lett az Úr szava szerint.
17 The king had detailed the equerry, on whose arm he leaned, as commander of the guard on the gate,but the people trampled on him in the gateway and he died, as the man of God had foretold when the king hadcome down to him.	17 Közben a király azt a főtisztet rendelte a kapuhoz, akinek kezére támaszkodott. Ezt a néptömeg összetaposta a kapuban, úgyhogy meghalt, amint az Isten embere megmondta, amikor a király lement hozzá.
18 (What Elisha had said to the king came true, 'Two measures of barley wil sel for one shekel, and ameasure of finest flour for one shekel, by this time tomorrow at the gate of Samaria.'	18 Beteljesedett tehát az Isten emberének az a szava, amelyet a királynak mondott, amikor azt mondta: »Két mérő árpa egy sékel és egy mérő lisztláng egy sékel lesz holnap ilyenkor Szamaria kapujában.«
19 And the equerry in question had replied to the man of God, 'Even if Yahweh made windows in the sky,could this word come true?' 'You wil see it with your own eyes,' Elisha had answered, 'though you wil eat noneof it.'	19 Ugyanakkor az a főtiszt azt felelte és azt mondta az Isten emberének: »Még ha zsilipeket csinálna is az Úr az égre, bekövetkezhetnék-e az, amit beszélsz«, s ő azt mondta neki: »Saját szemeddel fogod látni, de nem eszel belőle.«
20 And that was what happened to him: for the people trampled on him in the gateway and he died.)	20 Úgy is történt tehát vele, amint ő megjövendölte: összetaposta a nép a kapuban, úgyhogy meghalt.
