1 In his times, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for threeyears, but then rebelled against him a second time.	1 A tempo di lui venne Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia, e Joakim fu soggetto a lui per tre anni: e dipoi se gli ribellò.
2 So he sent armed bands of Chaldaeans, Aramaeans, Moabites and Ammonites against him; he sentthese against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spoken through his servantsthe prophets.	2 E il Signore mandò contro di lui schiere di Caldei, e schiere di Siri, e schiere di Moabiti, e schiere di Ammoniti: le mandò contro di Giuda, per isterminarlo, secondo la parola del Signore intimata per mezzo de' profeti suoi servi.
3 It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Judah; he had resolved to thrust themaway from him because of Manasseh's sins and al that he had done,	3 Or questo avvenne, perchè il Signore avea detto di togliersi dinanzi Giuda a causa di tutti i peccati commessi da Manasse,
4 and also because of the innocent blood which he had shed, flooding Jerusalem with innocent blood.Yahweh would not forgive.	4 E a causa del sangue innocente sparso da lui, che riempiè Gerusalemme di strage di uomini senza colpa: e per questo il Signore non volle placarsi.
5 The rest of the history of Jehoiakim, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Judah?	5 Il rimanente poi delle azioni di Joakim, e tutto quello, ch'ei fece, non è egli scritto nel diario de' fatti dei re di Giuda? E Joakim si addormentò co' padri suoi:
6 Then Jehoiakim fell asleep with his ancestors; his son Jehoiachin succeeded him.	6 E Joachin suo figliuolo gli succe dette nel regno.

11 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on the city and his generals laid siege to it.	11 E venne Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia sotto la città colla sua gente, per espugnarla.
12 Jehoiachin king of Judah-he, his mother, his retinue, his nobles and his officials -- then surrendered tothe king of Babylon, and the king of Babylon took them prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.	12 E Joachin re di Giuda andò a trovare il re di Babilonia colla sua madre, e co' suoi servi, o co' suoi principi, e co' suoi eunuchi: e il re di Babilonia lo accolse l'anno ottavo del suo regno.
13 The latter carried off al the treasures of the Temple of Yahweh and the treasures of the palace andbroke up al the golden furnishings which Solomon king of Israel had made for the sanctuary of Yahweh, asYahweh had foretold.	13 E portò via di là tutti i tesori della casa del Signore, e i tesori della casa reale: e fece in pezzi tutti i vasi d'oro fatti da Salomone re d'Israele pel tempio del Signore, come il Signore avea predetto.
14 He carried al Jerusalem off into exile, all the nobles and al the notables, ten thousand of these wereexiled, with al the blacksmiths and metalworkers; only the poorest people in the country were left behind.	14 E menò via in ischiavitù tutta Gerusalemme, tutti i suoi principi, e tutto il nerbo dell'esercito in numero di diecimila, e tutti gli artefici, e orefici: e non vi rimase nulla, eccettuata la plebe più meschina.
15 He deported Jehoiachin to Babylon, as also the king's mother, his officials and the nobility of thecountry; he made them al leave Jerusalem for exile in Babylon.	15 Egli trasportò parimente a Babilonia Joachin, e la sua madre, e le moglie del re, e gli eunuchi: e i giudici del paese li condusse in ischiavitù da Gerusalemme a Babilonia.
16 Al the men of distinction, seven thousand of them, the blacksmiths and metalworkers, one thousandof them, al the men capable of bearing arms, were led off into exile in Babylon by the king of Babylon.	16 E tutti gli uomini robusti in numero di settemila, e gli artefici, e orefici in numero di mille, e tutti gli uomini di valore atti alla guerra li menò il re di Babilonia prigionieri a Babilonia,
17 The king of Babylon deposed Jehoiachin in favour of his paternal uncle Mattaniah, whose name hechanged to Zedekiah.	17 E pose in luogo di Joachin Matthania suo zio paterno, e gli pose nome Sedecia.
18 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.	18 Ventun anno avea Sedecia quando cominciò a regnare, e undici anni regno a Gerusalemme: sua madre ebbe nome Amital, figliuola di Geremia di Lobna.
19 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.	19 Ed egli fece il male nel cospetto del Signore, imitando in tutto Joakim.
20 It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Jerusalem and Judah. It resulted in hiscasting them from his presence. Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.	20 Perocché si andava irritando il Signore contro Gerusalemme, e contro Giuda, sino a tanto che se li togliesse dinanzi. Or Sedecia si ribellò dal re di Babilonia.
