1 After this, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them. From the grip of the Philistines he wrested. . .	1 ORA, dopo queste cose, Davide percosse i Filistei, e li abbassò; e prese Metegamma di mano de’ Filistei.
2 He also defeated the Moabites and, making them lie on the ground, measured them off by the line; hemeasured out two lines to be put to death and one ful line to have their lives spared. The Moabites becameDavid's subjects and paid him tribute.	2 Percosse ancora i Moabiti, e fattili giacere in terra, li misurò con una funicella; e ne misurò due parti per farli morire, e una parte intiera per salvar loro la vita. Ed i Moabiti furono renduti soggetti a Davide, e tributari.
3 David defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when the latter mounted an expedition toextend his power over the River.	3 Davide, oltre a ciò, percosse Hadadezer, figliuolo di Rehob, re di Soba, andando per ridurre il paese sotto alla sua mano fino al fiume Eufrate.
4 David captured one thousand seven hundred charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiers from him;David hamstrung all the chariot teams, keeping only a hundred of them.	4 E Davide gli prese mille settecento uomini a cavallo, e ventimila uomini a piè. E Davide tagliò i garetti a’ cavalli di tutti i carri; ma ne riserbò i cavalli di cento carri.
5 The Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer king of Zobah, but David kil ed twenty-two thousand of the Aramaeans.	5 Ora i Siri di Damasco erano venuti per soccorrere Hadadezer, re di Soba. E Davide percosse di essi ventiduemila uomini.
6 David then imposed governors on Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans became David's subjectsand paid him tribute. Wherever David went, Yahweh gave him victory.	6 Poi pose guernigioni nella Siria di Damasco; e i Siri furono renduti soggetti a Davide, e tributari. E il Signore salvava Davide, dovunque egli andava.
7 David took the golden shields carried by Hadadezer's guards and brought them to Jerusalem.	7 E Davide prese gli scudi d’oro ch’erano de’ servitori di Hadadezer, e li portò in Gerusalemme.
8 From Betah and Berothai, towns belonging to Hadadezer, King David captured a great quantity ofbronze.	8 Il re Davide prese ancora grandissima quantità di rame da Beta, e da Berotai, città di Hadadezer
9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated Hadadezer's entire army,	9 Or Toi, re di Hamat, avendo udito che Davide avea sconfitto tutto l’esercito di Hadadezer,
10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him on having made war onHadadezer and on having defeated him, since Hadadezer was at war with Tou. Hadoram brought with himobjects made of silver, gold and bronze,	10 mandò al re Davide Ioram, suo figliuolo, per salutarlo, e per benedirlo, di ciò ch’egli avea guerreggiato contro a Hadadezer, e l’avea sconfitto; imperocchè Hadadezer avea guerra aperta con Toi. E Ioram portò seco vasellamenti d’argento, e vasellamenti di oro e vasellamenti di rame.
11 which King David also consecrated to Yahweh, as he had already consecrated the silver and goldtaken from al the nations which he had subjugated-	11 E il re Davide consacrò eziandio quelli al Signore, insieme con l’argento, e con l’oro, che egli avea consacrato della preda di tutte le nazioni ch’egli avea soggiogate;
12 from Aram, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines and Amalek; and from the spoil of Hadadezer son ofRehob, king of Zobah.	12 dei Siri, e de’ Moabiti, e de’ figliuoli di Ammon, e de’ Filistei, e degli Amalechiti; e della preda di Hadadezer, figliuolo di Rehob, re di Soba.
13 David became famous when he came home from defeating the Edomites in the Valley of Salt --eighteen thousand of them.	13 Davide ancora acquistò fama di ciò che, ritornando dalla rotta de’ Siri, sconfisse diciottomila uomini nella Valle del sale.

15 David ruled over al Israel, administering law and justice to al his people.	15 Così Davide regnò sopra tutto Israele, facendo ragione e giustizia a tutto il suo popolo.
16 Joab son of Zeruiah was in command of the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was herald;	16 E Ioab, figliuolo di Seruia, era sopra l’esercito; e Iosafat, figliuolo di Ahilud, era Cancelliere;
