NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 After this, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them. From the grip of the Philistines he wrested. . .	1 Después de esto, David derrotó a los filisteos y los sometió, despojándolos de su hegemonía.
2 He also defeated the Moabites and, making them lie on the ground, measured them off by the line; hemeasured out two lines to be put to death and one ful line to have their lives spared. The Moabites becameDavid's subjects and paid him tribute.	2 También derrotó a los moabitas y, haciéndolos echarse en tierra, los midió con una cuerda: a lo largo de dos cuerdas, los hizo matar; y a lo largo de una cuerda completa, les perdonó la vida. Los moabitas pasaron a ser vasallos de David, sometidos a tributo.
3 David defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when the latter mounted an expedition toextend his power over the River.	3 David derrotó a Hadadézer, hijo de Rejob, rey de Sobá, cuando este iba a restablecer su dominio sobre el Río.
4 David captured one thousand seven hundred charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiers from him;David hamstrung all the chariot teams, keeping only a hundred of them.	4 Capturó mil setecientos soldados de caballería y veinte mil hombres de a pie, y mutiló todos los caballos de los carros de guerra, reservándose sólo cien.
5 The Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer king of Zobah, but David kil ed twenty-two thousand of the Aramaeans.	5 Los arameos de Damasco acudieron en auxilio de Hadadézer, rey de Sobá, pero David derrotó a veintidós mil de esos arameos.
6 David then imposed governors on Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans became David's subjectsand paid him tribute. Wherever David went, Yahweh gave him victory.	6 Luego puso gobernadores en Aram de Damasco, y los arameos pasaron a ser vasallos de David, sometidos a tributo. El Señor daba la victoria a David en todas sus campañas.
7 David took the golden shields carried by Hadadezer's guards and brought them to Jerusalem.	7 David se apoderó de los escudos de oro que llevaban los oficiales de Hadadézer, y se los llevó a Jerusalén.

10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him on having made war onHadadezer and on having defeated him, since Hadadezer was at war with Tou. 11 which King David also consecrated to Yahweh, as he had already consecrated the silver and goldtaken from al the nations which he had subjugated-	11 y el rey David consagró también esos objetos, como lo había hecho con la plata y el oro provenientes de todas las naciones que había sometido:
12 from Aram, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines and Amalek; and from the spoil of Hadadezer son ofRehob, king of Zobah.	12 de Aram, de Moab, de los amonitas, de los filisteos y de Amalec, como asimismo del botín de Hadadézer, hijo de Rejob, rey de Sobá.
13 David became famous when he came home from defeating the Edomites in the Valley of Salt --eighteen thousand of them.	13 David adquirió gran renombre cuando volvió de derrotar a dieciocho mil arameos en el valle de la Sal.
14 He imposed governors on Edom and all the Edomites became David's subjects. Wherever Davidwent, Yahweh gave him victory.	14 Además, puso gobernadores en Edom, estableciéndolos por todo el país, y todos los edomitas pasaron a ser vasallos de David. El Señor daba la victoria a David en todas sus campañas.
15 David ruled over al Israel, administering law and justice to al his people.	15 David reinó sobre todo Israel, y administraba el derecho y la justicia a todo su pueblo.
16 Joab son of Zeruiah was in command of the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was herald;	16 Joab, hijo de Seruiá, era el comandante del ejército; Josafat, hijo de Ajilud, el heraldo;
17 Zadok and Abiathar son of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, were priests; Seraiah was secretary;	17 Sadoc y Abiatar, hijo de Ajimélec, hijo de Ajitub, eran sacerdotes; Seraías, el secretario;
18 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in command of the Cherethites and Pelethites; David's sons werepriests.	18 Benaías, hijo de Iehoiadá, comandaba a los quereteos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran sacerdotes.
