1 The Presbyter to the chosen Lady and to her children whom I love in truth--and not only I but also all who know the truth--	1 El Presbítero a la Señora elegida y a sus hijos, a quienes amo según la verdad - no sólo yo, sino también cuantos conocen la Verdad -
2 because of the truth that dwells in us and will be with us forever.	2 a causa de la verdad que permanece en nosotros y que estará con nosotros para siempre.
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father's Son in truth and love.	3 La gracia, la misericordia y la paz de parte de Dios Padre y de Jesucristo, el Hijo del Padre, estarán con nosotros según la verdad y el amor.
4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth just as we were commanded by the Father.	4 Me alegré mucho al encontrar entre tus hijos quienes viven según la verdad, conforme al mandamiento que recibimos del Padre.
5 But now, Lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing a new commandment but the one we have had from the beginning: let us love one another.	5 Y ahora te ruego, Señora - y no es que te escriba un mandamiento nuevo, sino el que tenemos desde el comienzo - que nos amemos unos a otros.
6 For this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, as you heard from the beginning, in which you should walk.	6 Y en esto consiste el amor: en que vivamos conforme a sus mandamientos. Este es el mandamiento, como lo habéis oído desde el comienzo: que viváis en el amor.
7 Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh; such is the deceitful one and the antichrist.	7 Muchos seductores han salido al mundo, que no confiesan que Jesucristo ha venido en carne. Ese es el Seductor y el Anticristo.
8 Look to yourselves that you do not lose what we worked for but may receive a full recompense.	8 Cuidad de vosotros, para que no perdáis el fruto de nuestro trabajo, sino que recibáis abundante recompensa.
9 Anyone who is so "progressive" as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son.	9 Todo el que se excede y no permanece en la doctrina de Cristo, no posee a Dios. El que permanece en la doctrina, ése posee al Padre y al Hijo.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him;	10 Si alguno viene a vosotros y no es portador de esta doctrina, no le recibáis en casa ni le saludéis,
11 for whoever greets him shares in his evil works.	11 pues el que le saluda se hace solidario de sus malas obras.
12 Although I have much to write to you, I do not intend to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and to speak face to face so that our joy may be complete.	12 Aunque tengo mucho que escribiros, prefiero no hacerlo con papel y tinta, sino que espero ir a veros y hablaros de viva voz, para que nuestro gozo sea completo.
13 The children of your chosen sister send you greetings.	13 Te saludan los hijos de tu hermana Elegida.
