1 Symeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of equal value to ours through the righteousness of our God and savior Jesus Christ:	1 Simon Péter, Jézus Krisztus szolgája és apostola, azoknak, akik velünk egyenlő hitben részesültek a mi Istenünknek és az üdvözítő Jézus Krisztusnak igazságossága által.

10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more eager to make your calland election firm, for, in doing so, you will never stumble.	10 Ezért annál inkább legyetek rajta, testvérek, hogy biztossá tegyétek hivatásotokat és kiválasztásotokat, mert ha ezt teszitek, soha nem fogtok elbotlani.
11 For, in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.	11 Így ugyanis tágas bejárat nyílik nektek a mi Urunk és üdvözítő Jézus Krisztusunk örök országába.
12 Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you already know them and are established in the truth you have.	12 Ennélfogva azon vagyok, hogy ezekre mindig figyelmeztesselek benneteket, jóllehet jártasak és erősek vagytok az elnyert igazságban.

18 We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.	18 Mi hallottuk ezt az égből jövő szózatot, amikor vele voltunk a szent hegyen.
19 Moreover, we possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.	19 És súlyos prófétai beszéd birtokában vagyunk, amelyre jól teszitek, ha figyeltek, mint sötét helyen világító lámpásra, amíg a nap fel nem virrad, és a hajnalcsillag fel nem kél szívetekben.
20 Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation,	20 Mindenekelőtt azt kell megértenetek, hogy az Írás egyetlen prófétai beszéde sem egyéni értelmezés dolga.
21 for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God.	21 Mert sohasem emberi akaratból származott a prófétai beszéd, hanem Isten szent emberei a Szentlélektől sugalmazva szóltak.
