1 In the first month of the year following their departure from the land of Egypt, the Lord said to Moses in the desert of Sinai,	1 - Il Signore parlò a Mosè nel deserto di Sinai, il mese primo del second'anno da che erano usciti dall'Egitto, e disse:
2 "Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the prescribed time.	2 «Facciano i figli d'Israele la Pasqua al suo tempo,
3 The evening twilight of the fourteenth day of this month is the prescribed time when you shall celebrate it, observing all its rules and regulations."	3 il giorno quattordicesimo di questo mese, a sera, osservando tutte le sue cerimonie e prescrizioni».
4 Moses, therefore, told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover.	4 Mosè dunque comandò ai figli d'Israele che celebrassero la Pasqua.
5 And they did so, celebrating the Passover in the desert of Sinai during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of the first month, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.	5 Ed essi la celebrarono al suo tempo, la sera del quattordicesimo giorno del mese, sul monte Sinai. Conforme a tutto quello che il Signore aveva comandato a Mosè, così fecero i figli d'Israele.
6 There were some, however, who were unclean because of a human corpse and so could not keep the Passover that day. These men came up to Moses and Aaron that same day	6 Ed ecco, alcuni i quali erano immondi per aver toccato un morto, e non potevano far la Pasqua in quel giorno, vennero a Mosè ed Aronne,
7 and said, "Although we are unclean because of a corpse, why should we be deprived of presenting the LORD'S offering at its proper time along with the other Israelites?"	7 e dissero loro: «Noi siamo immondi per causa di un morto: perchè d'esser impedito a noi, tra i figli d'Israele, d'offrire al Signore l'oblazione al suo tempo?».
8 Moses answered them, "Wait until I learn what the LORD will command in your regard."	8 Ai quali Mosè rispose: «Aspettate che io consulti il Signore su ciò che ordinerà per voi».
9 The LORD then said to Moses:	9 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
10 "Speak to the Israelites and say: If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean because of a corpse, or if he is absent on a journey, he may still keep the LORD'S Passover.	10 «Dirai a' figli d'Israele: - Quegli che fosse immondo a causa d'un morto, o fosse in viaggio lontano dalla vostra nazione, farà la Pasqua del Signore
11 But he shall keep it in the second month, during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of that month, eating it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs,	11 nel mese secondo, il quattordicesimo giorno, a sera. Là mangeranno con gli azzimi e con le lattughe selvatiche;
12 and not leaving any of it over till morning, nor breaking any of its bones, but observing all the rules of the Passover.	12 non ne lasceranno alcun che per l'indomani, e non ne romperanno alcun osso; osserveranno tutto il rito pasquale.
13 However, anyone who is clean and not away on a journey, who yet fails to keep the Passover, shall be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD'S offering at the prescribed time. That man shall bear the consequences of his sin.	13 Ma se uno è mondo, e non è in viaggio e tuttavia non avrà fatto la Pasqua, l'anima sua verrà sterminata di fra il suo popolo per non aver offerto al tempo dovuto il sacrifizio al Signore; porterà egli il [peso del] proprio peccato.
14 "If an alien who lives among you wishes to keep the LORD'S Passover, he too shall observe the rules and regulations for the Passover. You shall have the same law for the resident alien as for the native of the land."	14 Anche il pellegrino ed il forestiero che saranno presso di voi, immoleranno al Signore la Pasqua, secondo le sue cerimonie e prescrizioni. Sarà eguale presso di voi il precetto, tanto per il forestiero quanto per il cittadino -».
15 On the day when the Dwelling was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the tent of the commandments; but from evening until morning it took on the appearance of fire over the Dwelling.	15 Il giorno dunque nel quale fu rizzato il tabernacolo, la nube lo ricoprì. Dalla sera poi sino alla mattina, era sul tabernacolo come una specie di fuoco.
16 It was always so: during the day the Dwelling was covered by the cloud, which at night had the appearance of fire.	16 Così era sempre: il giorno lo ricopriva la nube; e la notte, quella specie di fuoco.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the tent, the Israelites would break camp; wherever the cloud came to rest, they would pitch camp.	17 Quando la nube avvolgente il tabernacolo si moveva, allora i figli d'Israele partivano; nel luogo dove la nube si fermava, s'accampavano.
18 At the bidding of the LORD the Israelites moved on, and at his bidding they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the Dwelling, they remained in camp.	18 Al comando del Signore partivano, ed al comando di lui fermavano il tabernacolo. Per tutt'i giorni nei quali la nube stava ferma sul tabernacolo, rimanevano fermi nello stesso luogo;
19 Even when the cloud tarried many days over the Dwelling, the Israelites obeyed the LORD and would not move on;	19 se avveniva che quella vi restasse sopra per molto tempo, i figli d'Israele erano come guardie agli ordini del Signore, e non partivano,
20 yet sometimes the cloud was over the Dwelling only for a few days. It was at the bidding of the LORD that they stayed in camp, and it was at his bidding that they departed.	20 per tutti que' giorni nei quali la nube restava sul tabernacolo. Al comando del Signore piantavan le tende, ed al suo comando le levavano.
21 Sometimes the cloud remained there only from evening until morning; and when it rose in the morning, they would depart. Or if the cloud lifted during the day, or even at night, they would then set out.	21 Se la nube si fermava dalla sera alla mattina, e subito al far del giorno lasciava il tabernacolo, partivano; se si moveva dopo un giorno e una notte, disfacevano l'accampamento.
22 Whether the cloud tarried over the Dwelling for two days or for a month or longer, the Israelites remained in camp and did not depart; but when it lifted, they moved on.	22 Se stava sul tabernacolo per due giorni, o per un mese, o per più tempo, rimanevano i figli d'Israele in quel luogo, e non partivano; appena però quella si moveva, levavano il campo.
23 Thus, it was always at the bidding of the LORD that they encamped, and at his bidding that they set out; ever heeding the charge of the LORD, as he had bidden them through Moses.	23 Alla parola del Signore fermavano le tende, ed alla sua parola si mettevano in cammino; erano come guardie del Signore, secondo gli ordini che aveva dato per mezzo di Mosè.
