1 In the first month of the year following their departure from the land of Egypt, the Lord said to Moses in the desert of Sinai,	1 Így szólt az Úr Mózeshez, a Sínai pusztájában, Egyiptom földjéről való kivonulásuk után a második esztendőben, az első hónapban, mondván:
2 "Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the prescribed time.	2 »Készítsék el Izrael fiai a pászkát a maga idejében,
3 The evening twilight of the fourteenth day of this month is the prescribed time when you shall celebrate it, observing all its rules and regulations."	3 ennek a hónapnak tizennegyedik napján estefelé, annak minden törvénye és előírása szerint.«
4 Moses, therefore, told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover.	4 Megparancsolta erre Mózes Izrael fiainak, hogy készítsék el a pászkát,
5 And they did so, celebrating the Passover in the desert of Sinai during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of the first month, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.	5 és ők el is készítették a maga idejében, a hónap tizennegyedik napján estefelé a Sínai hegynél. Egészen úgy tettek Izrael fiai, amint az Úr parancsolta Mózesnek.
6 There were some, however, who were unclean because of a human corpse and so could not keep the Passover that day. These men came up to Moses and Aaron that same day	6 Ám azonban némelyek, akik halott ember miatt tisztátalanok voltak, s így azon a napon pászkát nem készíthettek, Mózes és Áron elé járultak
7 and said, "Although we are unclean because of a corpse, why should we be deprived of presenting the LORD'S offering at its proper time along with the other Israelites?"	7 és azt mondták nekik: »Halott ember miatt tisztátalanok vagyunk; de miért szenvedjünk hátrányt azáltal, hogy nem mutathatjuk be az áldozati ajándékot az Úrnak a maga idejében Izrael fiaival együtt?«
8 Moses answered them, "Wait until I learn what the LORD will command in your regard."	8 Azt felelte nekik Mózes: »Várjatok, hadd kérdezzem meg, mit parancsol az Úr felőletek.«
9 The LORD then said to Moses:	9 Így szólt erre az Úr Mózeshez:
10 "Speak to the Israelites and say: If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean because of a corpse, or if he is absent on a journey, he may still keep the LORD'S Passover.	10 »Szólj Izrael fiaihoz: Ha valaki nemzetetekben halott miatt tisztátalan, vagy messze úton van, készítse el a pászkát az Úrnak
11 But he shall keep it in the second month, during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of that month, eating it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs,	11 a második hónapban, a hónap tizennegyedik napján estefelé; kovásztalan kenyérrel s mezei salátával egye meg,
12 and not leaving any of it over till morning, nor breaking any of its bones, but observing all the rules of the Passover.	12 ne hagyjon belőle semmit se reggelig, s ne törje meg csontjait: tartsa meg a pászka minden előírását.
13 However, anyone who is clean and not away on a journey, who yet fails to keep the Passover, shall be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD'S offering at the prescribed time. That man shall bear the consequences of his sin.	13 Ha azonban valaki tiszta is és úton sincs, s mégsem készíti el a pászkát: irtassék ki népéből, mivel nem mutatta be idejében az áldozati ajándékot az Úrnak; az ilyen ember viselje bűnét.
14 "If an alien who lives among you wishes to keep the LORD'S Passover, he too shall observe the rules and regulations for the Passover. You shall have the same law for the resident alien as for the native of the land."	14 Ha idegen vagy jövevény tartózkodik nálatok, a pászkát ő is annak törvényei és előírásai szerint készítse el az Úrnak: egy törvény legyen nálatok mind a jövevény, mind a bennszülött számára.«
15 On the day when the Dwelling was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the tent of the commandments; but from evening until morning it took on the appearance of fire over the Dwelling.	15 Tehát azon a napon, amelyiken felállították a hajlékot, befödte a felhő, estétől reggelig pedig tűzszerű tünemény volt a hajlék felett.
16 It was always so: during the day the Dwelling was covered by the cloud, which at night had the appearance of fire.	16 Így volt ez állandóan: nappal a felhő borította, éjjel pedig tűzszerű tünemény.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the tent, the Israelites would break camp; wherever the cloud came to rest, they would pitch camp.	17 Ha felemelkedett a felhő, amely a sátort fedte, akkor elindultak Izrael fiai, s ahol a felhő megállt, ott tábort ütöttek.
18 At the bidding of the LORD the Israelites moved on, and at his bidding they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the Dwelling, they remained in camp.	18 Az Úr parancsára indultak, s az ő parancsára ütöttek tábort. Mindaddig, amíg a felhő állt a hajlék felett, egy helyen maradtak.
19 Even when the cloud tarried many days over the Dwelling, the Israelites obeyed the LORD and would not move on;	19 Ha úgy történt, hogy hosszú ideig állt felette, Izrael fiai ügyeltek az Úrra, s nem indultak el,
20 yet sometimes the cloud was over the Dwelling only for a few days. It was at the bidding of the LORD that they stayed in camp, and it was at his bidding that they departed.	20 akárhány napig állt a felhő a hajlék felett. Az Úr parancsára ütötték fel a sátrakat, és az ő parancsára szedték fel azokat.
21 Sometimes the cloud remained there only from evening until morning; and when it rose in the morning, they would depart. Or if the cloud lifted during the day, or even at night, they would then set out.	21 Ha a felhő estétől reggelig volt ott, s mindjárt virradatkor felemelkedett a hajlékról, akkor indultak; ha egy nap és egy éjszaka után szállt fel, akkor szedték fel a sátrakat,
22 Whether the cloud tarried over the Dwelling for two days or for a month or longer, the Israelites remained in camp and did not depart; but when it lifted, they moved on.	22 ha két napig, egy hónapig vagy még hosszabb ideig volt a hajlékon, akkor Izrael fiai egy helyen maradtak, s nem indultak el; mihelyt pedig felemelkedett, elindították a tábort.
23 Thus, it was always at the bidding of the LORD that they encamped, and at his bidding that they set out; ever heeding the charge of the LORD, as he had bidden them through Moses.	23 Az Úr szavára állították fel a sátrakat, az ő szavára indultak el, és ügyeltek az Úrra, Mózes által adott parancsa szerint.
