1 In the first month of the year following their departure from the land of Egypt, the Lord said to Moses in the desert of Sinai,	1 Habló Yahveh a Moisés, en el desierto del Sinaí, el año segundo de la salida de Egipto, el mes primero, y le dijo:
2 "Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the prescribed time.	2 «Que los israelitas celebren la Pascua a su tiempo.
3 The evening twilight of the fourteenth day of this month is the prescribed time when you shall celebrate it, observing all its rules and regulations."	3 La celebrarán el día catorce de este mes, entre dos luces, al tiempo debido. La celebrarán según todos sus preceptos y normas.»
4 Moses, therefore, told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover.	4 Moisés dijo a los israelitas que celebraran la Pascua.
5 And they did so, celebrating the Passover in the desert of Sinai during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of the first month, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.	5 La celebraron en el desierto del Sinaí, el primer mes, el día catorce del mes, entre dos luces. Según había mandado Yahveh a Moisés lo hicieron los israelitas.
6 There were some, however, who were unclean because of a human corpse and so could not keep the Passover that day. These men came up to Moses and Aaron that same day	6 Pero sucedió que algunos hombres estaban impuros por contacto de cadáver humano y no podían celebrar la Pascua aquel día. Se presentaron a Moisés y Aarón el mismo día
7 and said, "Although we are unclean because of a corpse, why should we be deprived of presenting the LORD'S offering at its proper time along with the other Israelites?"	7 y les dijeron: «Estamos impuros por contacto de cadáver humano. ¿Por qué hemos de quedar excluidos de presentar la ofrenda a Yahveh a su tiempo con los demás israelitas?»
8 Moses answered them, "Wait until I learn what the LORD will command in your regard."	8 Moisés les respondió: «Esperad, que voy a consultar lo que os manda Yahveh.»
9 The LORD then said to Moses:	9 Yahveh habló a Moisés y le dijo:
10 "Speak to the Israelites and say: If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean because of a corpse, or if he is absent on a journey, he may still keep the LORD'S Passover.	10 «Diles a los israelitas: Si uno de vosotros o de vuestros descendientes está impuro por cadáver, o está de viaje en tierra lejana, también celebrará la Pascua en honor de Yahveh.
11 But he shall keep it in the second month, during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of that month, eating it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs,	11 La celebrarán el mes segundo, el día catorce, entre dos luces. La comerán con panes ázimos y hierbas amargas.
12 and not leaving any of it over till morning, nor breaking any of its bones, but observing all the rules of the Passover.	12 No dejarán nada para la mañana, ni le quebrantarán ningún hueso. Según todo el ritual de la Pascua la celebrarán.
13 However, anyone who is clean and not away on a journey, who yet fails to keep the Passover, shall be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD'S offering at the prescribed time. That man shall bear the consequences of his sin.	13 Pero el que, encontrándose puro y no habiendo estado de viaje, deje de celebrar la Pascua, ese tal será extirpado de su pueblo. Ese hombre cargará con su pecado, por no haber presentado la ofrenda a Yahveh a su tiempo.
14 "If an alien who lives among you wishes to keep the LORD'S Passover, he too shall observe the rules and regulations for the Passover. You shall have the same law for the resident alien as for the native of the land."	14 Y si un forastero reside entre vosotros y celebra la Pascua en honor de Yahveh, la celebrará según los preceptos y normas de la Pascua. Uno mismo será el ritual para vosotros, tanto para el forastero como para el nativo del país.»
15 On the day when the Dwelling was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the tent of the commandments; but from evening until morning it took on the appearance of fire over the Dwelling.	15 El día en que se erigió la Morada, la Nube cubrió la Morada, la Tienda del Testimonio. Por la tarde se quedaba sobre la Morada, con aspecto de fuego, hasta la mañana.
16 It was always so: during the day the Dwelling was covered by the cloud, which at night had the appearance of fire.	16 Así sucedía permanentemente: la Nube la cubría y por la noche tenía aspecto de fuego.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the tent, the Israelites would break camp; wherever the cloud came to rest, they would pitch camp.	17 Cuando se levantaba la Nube de encima de la Tienda, los israelitas levantaban el campamento, y en el lugar en que se paraba la Nube, acampaban los israelitas.
18 At the bidding of the LORD the Israelites moved on, and at his bidding they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the Dwelling, they remained in camp.	18 A la orden de Yahveh partían los israelitas y a la orden de Yahveh acampaban. Quedaban acampados todos los días que la Nube estaba parada sobre la Morada.
19 Even when the cloud tarried many days over the Dwelling, the Israelites obeyed the LORD and would not move on;	19 Si se detenía la Nube muchos días sobre la Morada, los israelitas cumplían con el culto de Yahveh y no partían.
20 yet sometimes the cloud was over the Dwelling only for a few days. It was at the bidding of the LORD that they stayed in camp, and it was at his bidding that they departed.	20 En cambio, si la Nube estaba sobre la Morada pocos días, a la orden de Yahveh acampaban y a la orden de Yahveh partían.
21 Sometimes the cloud remained there only from evening until morning; and when it rose in the morning, they would depart. Or if the cloud lifted during the day, or even at night, they would then set out.	21 Si la Nube estaba sobre la Morada sólo de la noche a la mañana, y por la mañana se alzaba, ellos partían. Si estaba un día y una noche y luego se elevaba, partían.
22 Whether the cloud tarried over the Dwelling for two days or for a month or longer, the Israelites remained in camp and did not depart; but when it lifted, they moved on.	22 Si, en cambio, se detenía sobre la Morada dos días, o un mes, o un año, reposando sobre ella, los israelitas se quedaban en el campamento y no partían; pero en cuanto se elevaba, partían.
23 Thus, it was always at the bidding of the LORD that they encamped, and at his bidding that they set out; ever heeding the charge of the LORD, as he had bidden them through Moses.	23 A la orden de Yahveh acampaban y a la orden de Yahveh movían el campamento. Rendían culto a Yahveh, según la orden de Yahveh transmitida por Moisés.
