Ezekiel 30

1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:
2 Son of man, speak this prophecy: Thus says the Lord GOD: Cry, Oh, the day!	2 "Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di': Così dice il Signore Dio: Gridate: "Ah, quel giorno!".
3 for near is the day, near is the day of the LORD; a day of clouds, doomsday for the nations shall it be.	3 Sì, il giorno è vicino! E' vicino il giorno del Signore, giorno nuvoloso, sarà il giorno delle genti.
4 Then a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt, when her riches are seized and her foundations are overthrown.	4 Verrà la spada sull'Egitto, ci sarà agitazione in Etiopia quando cadranno i cadaveri in Egitto, gli toglieranno la sua ricchezza e le fondamenta saranno divelte.
5 Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya, and people of the allied territory shall fall by the sword with them.	5 Etiopia, Put, Lud, tutta l'Arabia, Cub e quelli del paese del patto, con loro cadranno di spada.
6 Those who support Egypt shall fall, and down shall come her proud strength; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall there by the sword, says the Lord GOD.	6 Così dice il Signore: Cadranno i protettori dell'Egitto, tramonta l'arroganza della sua forza; da Migdòl ad Assuan vi cadranno di spada. Oracolo del Signore Dio.
7 She shall be the most devastated of lands, and her cities shall be the most desolate of all.	7 Essi saranno desolati tra i paesi più desolati, e le sue città saranno tra le più devastate.
8 Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and when all who help her are broken.	8 Riconosceranno che io sono il Signore, quando darò fuoco all'Egitto e saranno spezzati tutti i suoi alleati.
9 On that day messengers shall hasten forth at my command to terrify unsuspecting Ethiopia; they shall be in anguish on the day of Egypt, which is surely coming.	9 In quel giorno partiranno da me ambasciatori frettolosi che faranno tremare la fiduciosa Etiopia: in essa ci sarà agitazione nel giorno dell'Egitto. Sì, eccola che viene!".
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the throngs of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.	10 Così dice il Signore Dio: "Farò cessare la tumultuosa potenza d'Egitto per mano di Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia.
11 He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to devastate the land. They shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.	11 Egli, con il suo popolo, le peggiori delle genti, sono fatti venire per devastare il paese: snuderanno le loro spade contro l'Egitto, riempiranno la terra di cadaveri.
12 I will turn the Niles into dry land and sell the land over to the power of the wicked. The land and everything in it I will hand over to foreigners to devastate. I, the LORD, have spoken.	12 Renderò il tuo delta una devastazione, cederò il paese ai malvagi, renderò desolato il paese e chi vi abita per mano di stranieri. Io, il Signore, ho parlato".
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the great ones of Memphis and the princes of the land of Egypt, that they may be no more. I will cast fear into the land of Egypt, and devastate Pathros.	13 Così dice il Signore Dio: "Farò sparire gli idoli, farò cessare i vani culti di Menfi, non sorgerà mai più principe dal paese d'Egitto. Infonderò il timore in Egitto.
14 I will set fire to Zoan, and inflict punishments on Thebes.	14 Renderò desolata Patros, darò fuoco a Tanis, eseguirò la condanna su Tebe.
15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, Egypt's stronghold, and cut down the crowds in Memphis.	15 Riverserò il mio furore su Sin, fortezza dell'Egitto, e reciderò la tumultuosa potenza di Tebe.
16 I will set fire to Egypt; Syene shall writhe in anguish; Thebes shall be breached and its walls shall be demolished.	16 Darò fuoco all'Egitto, si contorcerà Sin, Tebe finirà lacerata, per Menfi saranno amari quei giorni.
17 The young men of On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword, and the cities themselves shall go into captivity.	17 I giovani di Eliòpoli e Bubàste cadranno di spada ed esse andranno in schiavitù.
18 In Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened when I break the scepter of Egypt. Her haughty pride shall cease from her, clouds shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.	18 A Tafni il giorno si oscurerà quando vi spezzerò le verghe dell'Egitto. Farò cessare l'arroganza della sua forza; una nube la ricoprirà e le figlie finiranno in schiavitù.
19 Thus will I inflict punishments on Egypt, that they may know that I am the LORD.	19 Farò giustizia contro l'Egitto, riconosceranno che io sono il Signore".
20 On the seventh day of the first month in the eleventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:	20 Nell'anno undicesimo, il sette del primo mese, mi giunse la parola del Signore:
21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and see, it has not been bound up with bandages and healing remedies that it may be strong enough to hold the sword.	21 "Figlio dell'uomo: ho spezzato il braccio del faraone, re d'Egitto; non è fasciato, nessuno che lo medichi, gli metta bende, lo fasci e lo rinvigorisca e così riafferri la spada.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. I will break his strong arm, so that the sword drops from his hand.	22 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Questa volta al faraone, re d'Egitto, spezzerò tutte e due le braccia, quello sano e quello già spezzato, e gli farò cadere di mano la spada.
23 I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.	23 Disseminerò gli Egiziani tra le genti, li disperderò per il mondo.
24 But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand, which he will bring against Egypt so as to plunder and pillage it.	24 Rinvigorirò invece le braccia del re di Babilonia e gli metterò in mano la mia spada. Spezzerò le braccia del faraone e gemerà ferito al suo cospetto.
25 (I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, but the arms of Pharaoh shall drop.) Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon for him to wield against the land of Egypt.	25 Mentre rinvigorirò le braccia del re di Babilonia, le braccia del faraone verranno meno. Riconosceranno che io sono il Signore, quando darò la mia spada in mano al re di Babilonia ed egli la stenderà contro il paese d'Egitto.
26 (I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.) Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	26 Quando disseminerò gli Egiziani tra le genti e li disperderò per il mondo, riconosceranno che io sono il Signore".
