1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 Son of man, speak this prophecy: Thus says the Lord GOD: Cry, Oh, the day!	2 »Emberfia, jövendölj és mondd: Így szól az Úr Isten: Jajgassatok! Jaj, az a nap!
3 for near is the day, near is the day of the LORD; a day of clouds, doomsday for the nations shall it be.	3 Mert közel van az a nap, elközeleg az Úr napja! A felhő napja, a nemzetek ideje lesz az!
4 Then a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt, when her riches are seized and her foundations are overthrown.	4 Mert kard jön Egyiptomra és rettegés lesz Etiópiában, amikor elesnek majd a halálra sebzettek Egyiptomban. Elvesztik sokaságát és feldúlják alapjait.
5 Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya, and people of the allied territory shall fall by the sword with them.	5 Etiópia, Líbia, a lídiaiak és mind a többi hordák, Kúb és a szövetség országának fiai velük együtt kard által hullanak el.
6 Those who support Egypt shall fall, and down shall come her proud strength; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall there by the sword, says the Lord GOD.	6 Így szól az Úr Isten: Egyiptom támaszai is összerogynak, és megsemmisül birodalmának kevélysége; Sziéné tornyától kezdve kard által hullanak el benne – mondja az Úr, a seregek Istene. –
7 She shall be the most devastated of lands, and her cities shall be the most desolate of all.	7 Aztán elszélednek az elpusztult országok között, és városai az elpusztított városok között lesznek.
8 Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and when all who help her are broken.	8 És megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor tüzet bocsátok Egyiptomra és megsemmisítem összes segítőjét.
9 On that day messengers shall hasten forth at my command to terrify unsuspecting Ethiopia; they shall be in anguish on the day of Egypt, which is surely coming.	9 Azon a napon követek mennek majd ki hajókon színem elől, hogy megtörjék Etiópia elbizakodottságát; és rettegés lesz közöttük Egyiptom napján, mert ez bizonnyal eljön!
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the throngs of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.	10 Így szól az Úr Isten: Egyiptom sokaságának végét vetem Nebukadnezár babiloni király keze által.
11 He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to devastate the land. They shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.	11 Odaviszem őt és vele együtt népét, a nemzetek leghatalmasabbjait, hogy feldúlják az országot. Kirántják kardjukat Egyiptom ellen, és megtöltik az országot a megöltekkel.
12 I will turn the Niles into dry land and sell the land over to the power of the wicked. The land and everything in it I will hand over to foreigners to devastate. I, the LORD, have spoken.	12 Kiszárítom a folyók medrét, az országot pedig a leggonoszabbak kezébe adom; elpusztítom az országot és azt, ami benne van, idegenek keze által. Én, az Úr, szóltam!
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the great ones of Memphis and the princes of the land of Egypt, that they may be no more. I will cast fear into the land of Egypt, and devastate Pathros.	13 Így szól az Úr Isten: Megsemmisítem a szobrokat és végét vetem Memfisz bálványainak; nem támad többé fejedelem Egyiptom földjéről, és rettegést bocsátok Egyiptom földjére.
14 I will set fire to Zoan, and inflict punishments on Thebes.	14 Elpusztítom Patrosz földjét, tüzet bocsátok Coánra, és ítéletet mondok Tébé fölött.
15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, Egypt's stronghold, and cut down the crowds in Memphis.	15 Kiöntöm méltatlankodásomat Pelúziumra, Egyiptom erődítésére, és megölöm Tébé sokaságát.
16 I will set fire to Egypt; Syene shall writhe in anguish; Thebes shall be breached and its walls shall be demolished.	16 Tüzet bocsátok Egyiptomra; mint a szülő asszony, úgy szenved majd Pelúzium; Tébé rommá lesz, és Memfiszben szorongatás lesz napról napra.
17 The young men of On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword, and the cities themselves shall go into captivity.	17 Heliopolisz és Bubászti ifjai kard által esnek el, ők maguk pedig fogságba kerülnek.
18 In Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened when I break the scepter of Egypt. 20 On the seventh day of the first month in the eleventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:	20 Történt pedig a tizenegyedik esztendőben, az első hónapban, a hónap hetedik napján, hogy az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and see, it has not been bound up with bandages and healing remedies that it may be strong enough to hold the sword.	21 »Emberfia, a fáraónak, Egyiptom királyának karját összetörtem, és íme, nem kötözik be, hogy egészsége helyreálljon; nem kötözik be ruhával és nem göngyölik be kötéssel, hogy visszanyerje erejét és kardot forgathasson.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. I will break his strong arm, so that the sword drops from his hand.	22 Ezért így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, én a fáraó, Egyiptom királya ellen fordulok, összezúzom erős és összetört karját, és kiütöm kezéből a kardot.
23 I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.	23 Szétszórom Egyiptomot a nemzetek közé, és szétszélesztem őket az országokba.
24 But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand, which he will bring against Egypt so as to plunder and pillage it.	24 De erőssé teszem Babilon királyának karját, és kardomat az ő kezébe adom. Összetöröm a fáraó karját; és amint nyög a haldokló, úgy nyögnek majd az ő színe előtt.
25 (I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, but the arms of Pharaoh shall drop.) Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon for him to wield against the land of Egypt.	25 Erőssé teszem Babilon királyának karját, de a fáraó karja lehanyatlik; és megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor Babilon királyának kezébe adom kardomat, hogy kinyújtsa Egyiptom földje ellen.
26 (I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.) Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	26 Szétszórom Egyiptomot a nemzetek közé, és szétszélesztem őket az országokba; és megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr!«
