Ezekiel 30

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Son of man, speak this prophecy: Thus says the Lord GOD: Cry, Oh, the day!	2 Fils d'homme, prophétise et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Poussez des cris: "Ah! Quel jour!"
3 for near is the day, near is the day of the LORD; a day of clouds, doomsday for the nations shall it be.	3 Car le jour est proche, il est proche le jour de Yahvé; ce sera un jour chargé de nuages, ce sera letemps des nations.
4 Then a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt, when her riches are seized and her foundations are overthrown.	4 L'épée viendra en Egypte, l'angoisse au pays de Kush, quand les morts tomberont en Egypte,quand on emportera ses richesses et que ses fondements seront renversés.
5 Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya, and people of the allied territory shall fall by the sword with them.	5 Kush, Put et Lud, toute l'Arabie, Kub et les fils du pays de l'Alliance tomberont avec eux parl'épée.
6 Those who support Egypt shall fall, and down shall come her proud strength; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall there by the sword, says the Lord GOD.	6 Ainsi parle Yahvé. Ils tomberont, les appuis de l'Egypte; il croulera l'orgueil de sa force: deMigdol à Syène, on y tombera par l'épée, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
7 She shall be the most devastated of lands, and her cities shall be the most desolate of all.	7 Ils seront dévastés au milieu de pays dévastés, ses villes seront au milieu de villes détruites.
8 Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and when all who help her are broken.	8 Et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte et que se briseront tous sessoutiens.
9 On that day messengers shall hasten forth at my command to terrify unsuspecting Ethiopia; they shall be in anguish on the day of Egypt, which is surely coming.	9 Ce jour-là, les messagers que j'enverrai partiront sur des bateaux pour troubler Kush dans sasécurité. L'angoisse se répandra chez ses habitants, au jour de l'Egypte - oui! la voici qui vient!
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the throngs of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.	10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai la multitude de l'Egypte, par la main deNabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone.
11 He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to devastate the land. They shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.	11 Lui et son peuple avec lui, la plus barbare des nations, seront amenés pour ravager le pays. Ilstireront l'épée contre l'Egypte et rempliront le pays de cadavres.
12 I will turn the Niles into dry land and sell the land over to the power of the wicked. The land and everything in it I will hand over to foreigners to devastate. I, the LORD, have spoken.	12 Je mettrai les Nils à sec, je vendrai le pays à des méchants. Je dévasterai le pays et ce qu'ilrenferme par la main d'étrangers. Moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé.
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the great ones of Memphis and the princes of the land of Egypt, that they may be no more. I will cast fear into the land of Egypt, and devastate Pathros.	13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai les ordures, j'ôterai de Noph les faux dieux. Il n'yaura plus de prince au pays d'Egypte. Je répandrai la crainte au pays d'Egypte.
14 I will set fire to Zoan, and inflict punishments on Thebes.	14 Je dévasterai Patros, je mettrai le feu à Coân, je ferai justice de No.
15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, Egypt's stronghold, and cut down the crowds in Memphis.	15 Je déverserai ma fureur sur Sîn, la forteresse de l'Egypte; j'exterminerai la multitude de No.
16 I will set fire to Egypt; Syene shall writhe in anguish; Thebes shall be breached and its walls shall be demolished.	16 Je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte, Sîn sera pris de convulsions, à No, on ouvrira une brèche et les eauxse répandront.
17 The young men of On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword, and the cities themselves shall go into captivity.	17 Les jeunes gens de On et de Pi-Bésèt tomberont par l'épée et les villes elles-mêmes iront encaptivité.
18 In Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened when I break the scepter of Egypt. Her haughty pride shall cease from her, clouds shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.	18 A Tahpanhès, le jour deviendra ténèbres quand j'y briserai les sceptres de l'Egypte et quel'orgueil de sa force prendra fin. Quant à elle, un nuage la couvrira et ses filles iront en captivité.
19 Thus will I inflict punishments on Egypt, that they may know that I am the LORD.	19 C'est ainsi que je ferai justice de l'Egypte, et l'on saura que je suis Yahvé.
20 On the seventh day of the first month in the eleventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:	20 La onzième année, au premier mois, le sept du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en cestermes:
21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and see, it has not been bound up with bandages and healing remedies that it may be strong enough to hold the sword.	21 Fils d'homme, j'ai brisé le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, et voici que nul n'a pansé sa blessure eny appliquant des remèdes, en y mettant un bandage et en le pansant pour qu'il retrouve la force de manier l'épée.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. I will break his strong arm, so that the sword drops from his hand.	22 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que je me déclare contre Pharaon, roid'Egypte; je lui briserai les bras, celui qui est valide et celui qui est brisé, et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.
23 I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.	23 Je disséminerai l'Egypte parmi les nations, je la disperserai dans les pays.
24 But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand, which he will bring against Egypt so as to plunder and pillage it.	24 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main. Je briserai les brasde Pharaon et celui-ci poussera devant son ennemi des gémissements de mourant.
25 (I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, but the arms of Pharaoh shall drop.) Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon for him to wield against the land of Egypt.	25 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, mais les bras de Pharaon tomberont. Et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai mon épée dans les mains du roi de Babylone et qu'il la brandira contre le paysd'Egypte.
26 (I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.) Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	26 Je disséminerai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, je les disperserai dans les pays, et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé.
