1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 As for you, son of man, utter a lament over Tyre,	2 «Tu dunque, figlio dell'uomo, intona sopra Tiro una lamentazione;
3 and say to Tyre that is situated at the approaches of the sea, that brought the trade of the peoples to many a coastland: Thus says the Lord GOD: Tyre, you said, "I am a ship, perfect in beauty."	3 e dirai a Tiro, che siede all'ingresso del mare, all'emporio popoloso del mondo insulare; così dice il Signore Dio:- O Tiro, tu hai detto: Io sono una bellezza completa
4 In the midst of the sea your builders placed you, perfected your beauty.	4 e sono situata in grembo al mare! I tuoi limitrofi che ti hanno edificata hanno messo il colmo alla tua bellezza.
5 With cypress from Senir they built for you all of your decks; Cedar from Lebanon they took to make you a mast;	5 In abete del Sanir ti hanno costrutta, con tutti gli assiti per solcar il mare! scelsero un cedro del Libano per fartene l'albero maestro;
6 From the highest oaks of Bashan they made your oars; Your bridge they made of cypress wood from the coasts of Kittim.	6 piallarono le querce di Basan per formare i tuoi remi; ai tuoi sedili fecero intarsi di avorio di India, di legni delle isole d'Italia alle tue cabine.
7 Fine embroidered linen from Egypt became your sail (to serve you as a banner). Purple and scarlet from the coasts of Elishah covered your cabin.	7 Bisso variopinto di Egitto fu tessuto per la tua vela da esser inastata sull'antenna; ametista e porpora delle isole di Elisa diventarono la tua coperta.

10 Persia and Lud and Put were in your army as warriors; shield and helmet they hung upon you, increasing your splendor.	10 Persiani, Lidi e Libi erano della tua ciurma e formavano la tua gente di guerra; lo scudo e l'elmo appendevano alle tue pareti per accrescerti ornamento.
11 The men of Arvad were all about your walls, and the Gamadites were in your towers; they hung their bucklers all around on your walls, and made perfect your beauty.	11 I figli di Arad nelle tue schiere stavano sui tuoi spalti in giro e anche i Pigmei, che vigilavano sulle tue torri, appesero le loro faretre ai tuoi bordi intorno e misero il colmo alla tua bellezza.
12 Tarshish traded with you, so great was your wealth, exchanging silver, iron, tin, and lead for your wares.	12 I Cartaginesi tuoi commercianti, con una moltitudine d'ogni sorta di ricche merci di argento, ferro, stagno e piombo avevano riempito i tuoi mercati.
13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were also traders with you, exchanging slaves and articles of bronze for your goods.	13 La Grecia, Tubal e Mosoc facevano commercio con te e importavano al tuo popolo schiavi e arnesi di rame.
14 From Beth-togarmah horses, steeds, and mules were exchanged for your wares.	14 Dagli abitanti di Togorma erano condotti sulle tue fiere, cavalli, corsieri e muli.
15 The Rhodanites trafficked with you; many coastlands traded with you; ivory tusks and ebony wood they gave you for payment.	15 I figli di Dedan trafficavano con te, molte isole avevano dalla tua mano le mercanzie che scambiavano a prezzo di denti di avorio e legno di ebano.
16 Edom traded with you, so many were your products, exchanging garnets, purple, embroidered cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies for your wares.	16 Il Siro negoziava con te per la molteplicità delle tue manifatture: gemme, porpora, trine, bisso, sete, perle esponevano sulla piazza.
17 Judah and the land of Israel trafficked with you, exchanging Minnith wheat, figs, honey, oil, and balm for your goods.	17 Quei di Giuda e della terra di Israele trafficavano teco in frumento scelto; balsamo, miele, olio, resina esponevano sui tuoi mercati.
18 Damascus traded with you, so great was your wealth, exchanging Helbon wine and Zahar wool.	18 La gente di Damasco trafficava con te per la molteplicità delle tue manifatture, per la quantità di ricche merci di ogni sorta, vino prelibato e lana del miglior colore.

20 Dedan traded with you for riding gear.	20 Dedan faceva commercio con te in drappi da sedere.
21 The trade of Arabia and of all the sheikhs of Kedar belonged to you; they dealt in lambs, rams, and goats.	21 L'Arabia e tutti i capi delle tribù di Cedar facevano passare il loro traffico per le tue mani; con agnelli, montoni e capri venivano a negoziare con te.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah also traded with you, exchanging for your wares the very choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold.	22 I mercanti di Saba e di Reema erano tuoi negozianti, con ogni sorta di aromi squisiti e di pietre preziose e di oro, che esponevano sulla tua piazza:
23 Haran, Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad	23 Aran e Chene ed Eden trafficavano teco, Saba, Assur, e Chelmad ti vendevano le loro merci;
24 traded with you, marketing with you rich garments, violet mantles, embroidered cloth, varicolored carpets, and firmly woven cords.	24 essi negoziavano con te in vari generi; balle di tessuti ametistini e multicolori e carichi di rarità di gran pregio, involte e legate con funicelle e lavori di cedro, avevano spaccio sui tuoi mercati.
25 Ships of Tarshish journeyed for you in your merchandising. You were full and heavily laden in the heart of the sea.	25 Le navi del mare avevano il primato nel tuo commercio, e tu diventasti opulenta e rinomata molto in grembo al mare.
26 Through the deep waters your oarsmen brought you home, But the east wind smashed you in the heart of the sea.	26 Attraverso alle gonfiate onde ti hanno spinta i tuoi rematori, un colpo di vento australe ti ha infranta, in grembo al mare.
27 Your wealth, your goods, your wares, your sailors, and your crew, (the caulkers of your seams, those who traded for your goods, all your warriors who were in you, and all the great crowd within you) Sank into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.	27 Le tue ricchezze, i tuoi guadagni, tutta la tua suppellettile, i tuoi marinai e i tuoi piloti, quei che tenevano i tuoi cantieri e presiedevano al tuo popolo, e anche i tuoi uomini di guerra che avevi teco, con tutta la moltitudine dei tuoi che stanno in mezzo a te, sprofonderanno nelle viscere del mare, nel giorno della tua rovina.
28 Hearing the shouts of your mariners, the shores begin to quake.	28 Al suono delle strida de' tuoi piloti tremeranno le flotte
29 Down from their ships come all who ply the oar; The sailors, all the mariners of the sea, stand on the shore,	29 e tutti quei che maneggiavano remi, i marinai e tutti i nocchieri del mare, si fermeranno immobili a terra
30 Making their voice heard on your behalf, shouting bitter cries, Strewing dust on their heads, rolling in the ashes.	30 e urleranno sopra di te con gran voce, e strideranno amaramente, e getteranno polvere sulle loro teste e si cospargeranno il capo di cenere,
31 For you they shave their heads and put on sackcloth, For you they weep in anguish, with bitter lament.	31 si scrineranno le teste per te e si avvolgeranno nei cilizi, e amareggiati nell'anima ti piangeranno in un duolo amarissimo.
32 In their mourning they utter a lament over you; thus they wail over you: Who was ever destroyed like Tyre in the midst of the sea?	32 E intoneranno su di te un lugubre carme e faranno di te questo lamento: Chi come Tiro; ed or così ammutolita in seno al mare? .
33 With your goods which you drew from the seas you filled many peoples; With your great wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.	33 Tu, che colla diffusione del tuo commercio marittimo, soddisfacevi le brame di tanti popoli, che colla quantità delle tue ricchezze e delle tue genti avevi arricchiti i re della terra;
34 Now you are wrecked in the sea, in the watery depths; Your wares and all your crew have gone down with you.	34 ora sei stata infranta dal mare, le tue ricchezze sono calate in fondo alle acque e tutta la moltitudine dei tuoi che erano in te sono caduti.
35 All who dwell on the coastlands are aghast over you, Their kings are terrified, their faces convulsed.	35 Tutti gli abitatori delle isole sono esterrefatti per te, tutti i loro re, costernati e col cuore in tempesta, comparvero col viso contraffatto.
36 The traders among the peoples now hiss at you; You have become a horror, and you shall be no more.	36 I commercianti dei popoli hanno fischiato sopra di te; tu sei ridotta al niente, e non sarai mai più in eterno -».
