1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
2 As for you, son of man, utter a lament over Tyre,	2 Or tu figliuolo dell'uomo intuona lugubre cantico sopra di Tiro;
3 and say to Tyre that is situated at the approaches of the sea, that brought the trade of the peoples to many a coastland: Thus says the Lord GOD: Tyre, you said, "I am a ship, perfect in beauty."	3 E dirai a Tiro, la quale abita alla bocca del mare, al fondaco de' popoli di molte isole: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Tu, o Tiro, dicesti: Io son perfettamente bella,
4 In the midst of the sea your builders placed you, perfected your beauty.	4 E son situata nel cuor del mare. I tuoi vicini, che ti edificarono, ti ornarono di ogni vaghezza;
5 With cypress from Senir they built for you all of your decks; Cedar from Lebanon they took to make you a mast;	5 Ti fabbricarono di abeti del Sanir i due palchi della nave; tolsero un cedro dal Libano per fare il tuo albero.
6 From the highest oaks of Bashan they made your oars; Your bridge they made of cypress wood from the coasts of Kittim.	6 Piallarono le querce di Basan per formare i tuoi remi, e i sedili tuoi li fecer di avorio indiano, e le tue magnifiche camere ornate di materia tolta dalle isole d'Italia.

16 Edom traded with you, so many were your products, exchanging garnets, purple, embroidered cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies for your wares.	16 Il Siro trafficava con te, e per avere le tue molte manifatture esponeva su tuoi mercati gemme, e porpora, e telerie ricamate, e bisso, e seta, ed ogni sua preziosa merce.
17 Judah and the land of Israel trafficked with you, exchanging Minnith wheat, figs, honey, oil, and balm for your goods.	17 Giuda, e la terra d'Israele venivano a far negozi con te, esponendo alle tue fiere il frumento migliore, il balsamo, il miele, e l'olio, e la resina.
18 Damascus traded with you, so great was your wealth, exchanging Helbon wine and Zahar wool.	18 Il mercatante Damasceno contrattava con te, e per le molte tue manifatture ti dava molte, e varie ricchezze, vino pregiato, e lane di ottimo colore.

23 Haran, Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad	23 Haran, e Chene, ed Eden contrattavano teco: Saba, Assur, e Chelmad ti vendevano mercatanzie:
24 traded with you, marketing with you rich garments, violet mantles, embroidered cloth, varicolored carpets, and firmly woven cords.	24 Eglino faceano teco commercio di varie cose, portandoti balle di giacinto, e di lavori di punto, e preziosi tesori legati, e serrati con corde: ei ti vendevano ancora del legname di cedro.
25 Ships of Tarshish journeyed for you in your merchandising. You were full and heavily laden in the heart of the sea.	25 Le tue navi hanno il primo luogo nella tua mercatura: e tu fosti piena, e glorificata altamente in mezzo ai mare.
26 Through the deep waters your oarsmen brought you home, But the east wind smashed you in the heart of the sea.	26 I remiganti tuoi ti condussero in alto mare; il vento di mezzodì ti fracassò in mezzo alle acque.
27 Your wealth, your goods, your wares, your sailors, and your crew, (the caulkers of your seams, those who traded for your goods, all your warriors who were in you, and all the great crowd within you) Sank into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.	27 Le tue ricchezze, e i tuoi tesori, e il molto tuo carico, i tuoi marinari, e i tuoi piloti, che avean in custodia le cose tue, e reggevan tua gente, e gli uomini guerrieri, che avevi teco, e tutta la molttudine, che era dentro di te, è precipitata nell'abisso del mare il giorno dì tua rovina.
28 Hearing the shouts of your mariners, the shores begin to quake.	28 Al rumor delle strida de' tuoi piloti si spaventerà la moltitudine delle altre navi;
29 Down from their ships come all who ply the oar; The sailors, all the mariners of the sea, stand on the shore,	29 E tutti i remiganti scenderan dalle navi loro: i mannari, e tutti i piloti staran sulla terra:
30 Making their voice heard on your behalf, shouting bitter cries, Strewing dust on their heads, rolling in the ashes.	30 E urleranno con voce grande sopra di te, e daran gridi di dolore, e si getteran sulle teste la polvere, e si cuopriranno di cenere.
31 For you they shave their heads and put on sackcloth, For you they weep in anguish, with bitter lament.	31 E si raderanno a causa di te i capelli, e si vestiranno di cilizi; e te piangeranno nell'amarezza dell'animo con pianto amarissimo.
32 In their mourning they utter a lament over you; thus they wail over you: Who was ever destroyed like Tyre in the midst of the sea?	32 E intuoneranno lugubre carme sopra di te, e ti piangeranno: Qual è la città, che sia come Tiro, e come lei, che muta si sta nel fondo del mare?
33 With your goods which you drew from the seas you filled many peoples; With your great wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.	33 Tu col tuo commercio marittimo arricchisti molte nazioni: coll'abbondanza delle ricchezze tue, e della tua gente tu facesti ricchi i re della terra.
34 Now you are wrecked in the sea, in the watery depths; Your wares and all your crew have gone down with you.	34 Tu se' adesso messa in pezzi dal mare: le tue ricchezze sono in fondo alle acque, e tutta la gente, che avevi con te, e perita.
35 All who dwell on the coastlands are aghast over you, Their kings are terrified, their faces convulsed.	35 Tutti gli abitatori delle isole sono attoniti del tuo caso: e i loro regi sbigottiti per tal tempesta, son cangiati di volto.
36 The traders among the peoples now hiss at you; You have become a horror, and you shall be no more.	36 I mercatanti degli altri popoli fecer delle fischiate sopra di te: tu se' ridotta al niente, e non sarai in perpetuo.
