1 As for you, son of man, raise a lamentation over the prince of Israel:	1 E tu, filho do homem, faze ouvir este cântico fúnebre acerca dos príncipes de Israel.
2 What a lioness was your mother, a lion of lions! Among young lions she couched to rear her whelps.	2 Quem era tua mãe? Uma leoa entre leões; estendida entre os leõezinhos, ela criava os seus filhotes.
3 One whelp she raised up, a young lion he became; He learned to seize prey, men he devoured.	3 Um dos filhotes cresceu até se tornar leão; aprendeu a despedaçar a presa, a devorar os homens.
4 Then nations raised cries against him, in their pit he was caught; They took him away with hooks to the land of Egypt.	4 Então as nações se coligaram contra ele, e foi preso em sua fossa; com cadeias foi levado para a terra egípcia.
5 Then she saw that in vain she had waited, her hope was destroyed. She took another of her whelps, him she made a young lion.	5 Sua mãe viu que sua expectativa e sua esperança eram vãs; ela tomou outro dos seus filhotes para dele fazer um leãozinho.
6 He prowled among the lions, a young lion he became; He learned to seize prey, men he devoured;	6 Ele abriu caminho entre os leões, tornou-se um jovem leão; aprendeu a despedaçar a presa, a devorar os homens;
7 He ravaged their strongholds, their cities he wasted. The land and all in it were appalled at the noise of his roar.	7 devastou seus palácios e desolou suas cidades, a terra e seus habitantes ficaram amedrontados com os seus rugidos.
8 Nations laid out against him snares all about him; They spread their net to take him, in their pit he was caught.	8 Coligaram-se contra ele as nações vizinhas; lançaram sobre ele uma cilada; em sua fossa ele foi preso.
9 They put him in a cage and took him away to the king of Babylon, So that his voice would not be heard on the mountains of Israel.	9 Foi posto na jaula com cadeias, conduziram-no ao rei de Babilônia, prenderam-no numa fortaleza, para que não se ouvisse mais a sua voz nas montanhas de Israel.
10 Your mother was like a vine planted by the water; Fruitful and branchy was she because of the abundant water.	10 Tua mãe se assemelhava a uma vinha plantada à margem da torrente, carregada de frutos e de folhas, devido à abundância das águas.
11 One strong branch she put out as a royal scepter. Stately was her height amid the dense foliage; Notably tall was she with her many clusters.	11 Ela teve um ramo vigoroso, que se tornou um cetro real; sua estatura avultava-se em meio de uma espessa folhagem. Ela se distinguia por sua altitude e pelo número de seus ramos.
12 But she was torn up in fury and flung to the ground; The east wind withered her up, her fruit was torn off; Then her strong branch withered up, fire devoured it.	12 Ela porém foi arrancada furiosamente, e arremessada por terra. O vento do oeste dessecou seus frutos, que caíram; emurcheceu o seu vigoroso ramo, crestado pelo fogo,
13 So now she is planted in the desert, in a land dry and parched,	13 e agora está ela plantada no deserto, em terra seca e árida.
14 For fire came out of the branch and devoured her shoots; She is now without a strong branch, a ruler's scepter. This is a lamentation and serves as a lamentation.	14 O fogo, lançado num de seus ramos, devorou seu fruto; nela não há mais ramo forte, nem cetro real! É um canto fúnebre, que efetivamente serviu de lamentação.
