NEW AMERICAN BIBLENOVA VULGATA
1 For the leader. A psalm of David.1 Magistro chori. Psalmus. David.
2 Happy those concerned for the lowly and poor; when misfortune strikes, the LORD delivers them.2 Beatus, qui intellegit de egeno;
in die mala liberabit eum Dominus.
3 The LORD keeps and preserves them, makes them happy in the land, and does not betray them to their enemies.3 Dominus servabit eum et vivificabit eum
et beatum faciet eum in terra
et non tradet eum in animam inimicorum eius.
4 The LORD sustains them on their sickbed, allays the malady when they are ill.4 Dominus opem feret illi super lectum doloris eius;
universum stratum eius versabis in infirmitate eius.
5 Once I prayed, "LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, I have sinned against you.5 Ego dixi: “ Domine, miserere mei;
sana animam meam, quia peccavi tibi ”.
6 My enemies say the worst of me: 'When will that one die and be forgotten?'6 Inimici mei dixerunt mala mihi:
“ Quando morietur, et peribit nomen eius? ”.
7 When people come to visit me, they speak without sincerity. Their hearts store up malice; they leave and spread their vicious lies.7 Et si ingrediebatur, ut visitaret, vana loquebatur;
cor eius congregabat iniquitatem sibi,
egrediebatur foras et detrahebat.
8 My foes all whisper against me; they imagine the worst about me:8 Simul adversum me susurrabant omnes inimici mei;
adversum me cogitabant mala mihi:
9 I have a deadly disease, they say; I will never rise from my sickbed.9 “ Maleficium effusum est in eo;
et, qui decumbit, non adiciet ut resurgat ”.
10 Even the friend who had my trust, who shared my table, has scorned me.10 Sed et homo pacis meae, in quo speravi,
qui edebat panem meum, levavit contra me calcaneum.
11 But you, LORD, have mercy and raise me up that I may repay them as they deserve."11 Tu autem, Domine, miserere mei
et resuscita me, et retribuam eis.
12 By this I know you are pleased with me, that my enemy no longer jeers at me.12 In hoc cognovi quoniam voluisti me,
quia non gaudebit inimicus meus super me;
13 For my integrity you have supported me and let me stand in your presence forever.13 me autem propter innocentiam suscepisti
et statuisti me in conspectu tuo in aeternum.
14 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from all eternity and forever. Amen. Amen.14 Benedictus Dominus, Deus Israel,
a saeculo et usque in saeculum. Fiat, fiat.
