Psalms 41

1 For the leader. A psalm of David.	1 Del maestro de coro. Salmo de David.
2 Happy those concerned for the lowly and poor; when misfortune strikes, the LORD delivers them.	2 Feliz el que se ocupa del débil y del pobre: el Señor lo librará en el momento del peligro.
3 The LORD keeps and preserves them, makes them happy in the land, and does not betray them to their enemies.	3 El Señor lo protegerá y le dará larga vida, lo hará dichoso en la tierra y no lo entregará a la avidez de sus enemigos.
4 The LORD sustains them on their sickbed, allays the malady when they are ill.	4 El Señor lo sostendrá en su lecho de dolor y le devolverá la salud.
5 Once I prayed, "LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, I have sinned against you.	5 Yo dije: «Ten piedad de mí, Señor, sáname, porque pequé contra ti».
6 My enemies say the worst of me: 'When will that one die and be forgotten?'	6 Mis enemigos sólo me auguran desgracias: «¿Cuándo se morirá y desaparecerá su nombre?».
7 When people come to visit me, they speak without sincerity. Their hearts store up malice; they leave and spread their vicious lies.	7 Si alguien me visita, habla con falsedad, recoge malas noticias y las divulga al salir.
8 My foes all whisper against me; they imagine the worst about me:	8 Mis adversarios se juntan para murmurar contra mí, y me culpan de los males que padezco, diciendo:
9 I have a deadly disease, they say; I will never rise from my sickbed.	9 «Una enfermedad incurable ha caído sobre él; ese que está postrado no volverá a levantarse».
10 Even the friend who had my trust, who shared my table, has scorned me.	10 Hasta mi amigo más íntimo, en quien yo confiaba, el que comió mi pan, se puso contra mí.
11 But you, LORD, have mercy and raise me up that I may repay them as they deserve."	11 Pero tú, Señor, ten piedad de mí; levántame y les daré su merecido.
12 By this I know you are pleased with me, that my enemy no longer jeers at me.	12 En esto reconozco que tú me amas, en que mi enemigo no canta victoria sobre mí.
13 For my integrity you have supported me and let me stand in your presence forever.	13 Tú me sostuviste a causa de mi integridad, y me mantienes para siempre en tu presencia.
14 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from all eternity and forever. Amen. Amen.	14 ¡Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel, desde siempre y para siempre! ¡Amén! ¡Amén!
