NEW AMERICAN BIBLENEW JERUSALEM
Of David. Grant me justice, LORD! I have walked without blame. In the LORD I have trusted; I have not faltered.1 [Of David] Yahweh, be my judge! I go on my way in innocence, my trust in Yahweh never wavers.
Test me, LORD, and try me; search my heart and mind.2 Probe me, Yahweh, examine me, Test my heart and my mind in the fire.
Your love is before my eyes; I walk guided by your faithfulness.3 For your faithful love is before my eyes, and I live my life by your truth.
I do not sit with deceivers, nor with hypocrites do I mingle.4 No sitting with wastrels for me, no travel ing with hypocrites;
I hate the company of evildoers; with the wicked I do not sit.5 I hate the company of sinners, I refuse to sit down with the wicked.
I will wash my hands in innocence and walk round your altar, LORD,6 I will wash my hands in innocence and join the procession round your altar, Yahweh,
Lifting my voice in thanks, recounting all your wondrous deeds.7 to make heard the sound of thanksgiving, to proclaim all your wonders.
LORD, I love the house where you dwell, the tenting-place of your glory.8 Yahweh, I love the beauty of your house and the place where your glory dwel s.
Do not take me away with sinners, nor my life with the violent.9 Do not couple me with sinners, nor my life with men of violence,
Their hands carry out their schemes; their right hands are full of bribes.10 whose hands are stained with guilt, their right hands heavy with bribes.
But I walk without blame; redeem me, be gracious to me!11 In innocence I will go on my way; ransom me, take pity on me.
I take my stand on the right path; I wil bless you, Yahweh, in the assemblies.
