Psalms 132

1 A song of ascents. LORD, remember David and all his anxious care;	1 Canto delle ascensioni. Ricordati, o Jahvè, di David, di tutta la sua pietà;
2 How he swore an oath to the LORD, vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:	2 che giurò a Jahvè, fece voto al potente di Giacobbe:
3 "I will not enter the house where I live, nor lie on the couch where I sleep;	3 «Non entrerò nella tenda della mia casa, non salirò sul letto del mio giaciglio,
4 I will give my eyes no sleep, my eyelids no rest,	4 non concederò sonno ai miei occhi, sopore alle mie palpebre
5 Till I find a home for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."	5 finché non trovi un luogo a Jahvè, una tenda al potente di Giacobbe».
6 "We have heard of it in Ephrathah; we have found it in the fields of Jaar.	6 Ecco ne abbiamo sentito in Efrata, lo incontrammo in regioni selvose.
7 Let us enter God's dwelling; let us worship at God's footstool."	7 Veniamo alla sua dimora, a prostriamoci innanzi allo sgabello dei suoi piedi:
8 "Arise, LORD, come to your resting place, you and your majestic ark.	8 «Sorgi, Jahvè, verso la tua quiete; tu e l’arca della tua potenza!
9 Your priests will be clothed with justice; your faithful will shout for joy."	9 i sacerdoti rivestano la giustizia e i tuoi fedeli esultino;
10 For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your anointed.	10 per riguardo a David tuo servitore non respingere il volto del tuo unto».
11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a pledge never to be broken: "Your own offspring I will set upon your throne.	11 Giurò Jahvè a David. Verità!. Non si ritrarrà da essa: «Del frutto del tuo seno porrò qualcuno sul trono per te».
12 If your sons observe my covenant, the laws I shall teach them, Their sons, in turn, shall sit forever on your throne."	12 Se manterranno i tuoi figli la mia alleanza, il mio statuto che loro insegno, anche i loro figli per sempre siederanno sul trono per te».
13 Yes, the LORD has chosen Zion, desired it for a dwelling:	13 Infatti Jahvè scelse Sion, la bramò come sua abitazione:
14 "This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I desire it.	14 «Questa è la mia dimora per sempre, qui abiterò perché la prescelsi.
15 I will bless Zion with meat; its poor I will fill with bread.	15 Io benedirò le sue provviste, sazierò di pane i suoi poveri.
16 I will clothe its priests with blessing; its faithful shall shout for joy.	16 E vestirò di salute i suoi sacerdoti e i suoi fedeli esulteranno assai.
17 There I will make a horn sprout for David's line; I will set a lamp for my anointed.	17 Ivi farò germinare il corno di David, appresterò una lampada al mio unto.
18 His foes I will clothe with shame, but on him my crown shall gleam."	18 Vestirò di vergogna i suoi nemici, su di lui fiorirà il diadema».
