NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, then we thought we were dreaming.1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD had done great things for them."2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
The LORD has done great things for us; Oh, how happy we were!3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Restore again our fortunes, LORD, like the dry stream beds of the Negeb.4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy.5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, Will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves.6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
