¹ A song of ascents. The LORD answered me when I called in my distress:	¹ - Cantico de' gradini. Alzo gli occhi verso i monti; donde mi verrà l'aiuto?
² LORD, deliver me from lying lips, from treacherous tongues.	² Il mio aiuto [vien] dal Signore, che ha fatto il cielo e la terra.
³ What will the Lord inflict on you, O treacherous tongue, and what more besides?	³ Non faccia vacillare il tuo piede e non s'addormenti colui che ti protegge!
⁴ A warrior's sharpened arrows and fiery coals of brush wood!	⁴ Ecco! non s'addormenterà nè dormiràque' che protegge Israele.
⁵ Alas, I was an alien in Meshech, I lived near the tents of Kedar!	⁵ Il Signore ti protegge, il Signore è il tuo riparo, alla tua destra.
⁶ Too long did I live among those who hated peace.	⁶ Di giorno il sole non ti brucerà, nè la luna di notte.
⁷ When I spoke of peace, they were for war.	⁷ Il Signore ti protegge da ogni male; protegga l'anima tua il Signore!
	⁸ Il Signore protegge il tuo entrare e il tuo uscire, sin da ora e in eterno.
