Hallelujah! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in God's commands.1 Alleluia. Praise the Lord, children. Praise the name of the Lord.
Their descendants shall be mighty in the land, generation upright and blessed.2 Blessed is the name of the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.
Wealth and riches shall be in their homes; their prosperity shall endure forever.3 From the rising of the sun, even to its setting, praiseworthy is the name of the Lord.
They shine through the darkness, a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and just.4 The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is high above the heavens.
All goes well for those gracious in lending, who conduct their affairs with justice.5 Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high,
They shall never be shaken; the just shall be remembered forever.6 and who gazes upon the humble things in heaven and on earth?
They shall not fear an ill report; their hearts are steadfast, trusting the LORD.7 He lifts up the needy from the ground, and he urges the poor away from filth,
Their hearts are tranquil, without fear, till at last they look down on their foes.8 so that he may place him with the leaders, with the leaders of his people.
Lavishly they give to the poor; their prosperity shall endure forever; their horn shall be exalted in honor.9 He causes a barren woman to live in a house, as the joyful mother of sons.
The wicked shall be angry to see this; they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked come to nothing.
