Hallelujah! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in God's commands. | 1 Al eluia! How blessed is anyone who fears Yahweh, who delights in his commandments! |
Their descendants shall be mighty in the land, generation upright and blessed. | 2 His descendants shal be powerful on earth, the race of the honest shal receive blessings: |
Wealth and riches shall be in their homes; their prosperity shall endure forever. | 3 Riches and wealth for his family; his uprightness stands firm for ever. |
They shine through the darkness, a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and just. | 4 For the honest he shines as a lamp in the dark, generous, tender-hearted, and upright. |
All goes well for those gracious in lending, who conduct their affairs with justice. | 5 Al goes wel for one who lends generously, who is honest in al his dealing; |
They shall never be shaken; the just shall be remembered forever. | 6 for al time to come he wil not stumble, for al time to come the upright wil be remembered. |
They shall not fear an ill report; their hearts are steadfast, trusting the LORD. | 7 Bad news holds no fears for him, firm is his heart, trusting in Yahweh. |
Their hearts are tranquil, without fear, till at last they look down on their foes. | 8 His heart held steady, he has no fears, til he can gloat over his enemies. |
Lavishly they give to the poor; their prosperity shall endure forever; their horn shall be exalted in honor. | 9 To the needy he gives without stint, his uprightness stands firm for ever; his reputation is founded onstrength. |
The wicked shall be angry to see this; they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked come to nothing. | 10 The wicked are vexed at the sight, they grind their teeth and waste away. The desires of the wickedwil be frustrated. |
