NEW AMERICAN BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
Hallelujah! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in God's commands.1 Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord: he shall delight exceedingly in his commandments.
Their descendants shall be mighty in the land, generation upright and blessed.2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the righteous shall be blessed.
Wealth and riches shall be in their homes; their prosperity shall endure forever.3 Glory and wealth shall be in his house: and his justice remaineth for ever and ever.
They shine through the darkness, a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and just.4 To the righteous a light is risen up in darkness: he is merciful, and compassionate and just.
All goes well for those gracious in lending, who conduct their affairs with justice.5 Acceptable is the man that showeth mercy and lendeth: he shall order his words with judgment:
They shall never be shaken; the just shall be remembered forever.6 because he shall not be moved for ever.
They shall not fear an ill report; their hearts are steadfast, trusting the LORD.7 The just shall be in everlasting remembrance: he shall not hear the evil hearing. His heart is ready to hope in the Lord:
Their hearts are tranquil, without fear, till at last they look down on their foes.8 his heart is strengthened, he shall not be moved until he look over his enemies.
Lavishly they give to the poor; their prosperity shall endure forever; their horn shall be exalted in honor.9 He hath distributed, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever and ever: his horn shall be exalted in glory.
The wicked shall be angry to see this; they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked come to nothing.10 The wicked shall see, and shall be angry, he shall gnash with his teeth and pine away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
